and a snippet:
"Rickert, 21, scored several times with the 6-foot-11 Garnett guarding him. Several other players began to "tease" Garnett about being outplayed, according to a source. When Rickert scored again, Garnett struck him without warning. "

Wow and WOW.

Yes, he is an amazing athlete and basketball player, but his education leaves a lot to be desired. He already punched Wally a few years back, he has always insulted opponents AND teammates on the court, etc. The guy is fucked in the head.
Does anyone remember a few years ago when the Spurs played the Wolves on Mother's Day and KG wished TD a Happy Mother's Day, eventhough he knew Tim's mom has past away years ago? And Tim had always considered him his friend.
KG has always been a complete jackass.
open_mouth_ said:On the KG story, there's gotta be more to it than that. What if Rickert elbowed KG or said something about his mamma or something?? We only know what's been reported so far...
As for Mourning, I think it's great that he's trying another comeback. His body looked like it was in good shape last season and with 2 good kidneys now, he might be able to regain *some* of his old form (which he really couldn't last season save for his last game in which he had like 17/10). Hopefully the Nets can use their stockpiled trade exceptions and draft picks to pick up a good power forward.
I think you are missing the point. Punching people out made MJ a better person. KG is still just a doucheBat said:The KG story is being blown out of porportion. MJ punched out a teammate during pracitce several times throughout his career (the best documented case was Steve Kerr) and no one really cares.
O'Neal has been criticized for showing up to preseason camp overweight in the past but on Wednesday, he said he was down to 331 pounds -- 24 less than when he met with Heat President Pat Riley in July.
"They want me at 325; when I met with Pat I was at 355," O'Neal said. "A couple more pounds to go, and I think got I've got five-to-six weeks left to go. I'll be at 325 or below when I come into camp."

Seriously, it's good to have at least one other Knick fan on these boards. We can potentially take our division and end up as high as the 3rd seed this season (with the new formatting/seeding).

NEW ORLEANS -- The agent of New Orleans Hornets point guard Baron Davis says he has advised Davis to explore options, including a possible trade request. But agent Todd Ramasar said late Thursday that the two-time All-Star has not made that demand yet.
"It's tough for me to comment, but I trust my agent," Davis said in a statement released by his publicist. "He has my interest at heart. And I'm prepared for anything at this point. Bottom line, I love the city of New Orleans and the community. I'm just focused to play well in the NBA and I'm getting ready for the season."
Ramasar said Davis was looking for a team that would help him more on the offensive end.

HOUSTON -- The Houston Rockets are close to a deal that would add veteran center Dikembe Mutombo as the backup to Yao Ming, a television station reported Thursday. The Rockets would send Eric Piatkowski, Adrian Griffin and Mike Wilks to the Chicago Bulls, Houston television station KRIV said in a report citing anonymous NBA sources.
The deal, which could be done as early as next week, needs the approval of Bulls ownership and the NBA, the station said.

Baron for Dwyane, straight up.
Wade may have more long-term career upside, but when you have Shaq for just a few seasons, you need a win-now running mate, particularly one who's a true point guard (Davis), not a natural 2-guard making an uncomfortable transition (Wade).
Bowser said:The Daily Quickie's Dan Shanoff said the Heat should do Dwayne Wade for Baron Davis straight up. I think that's absurd, but here's what he said:

Shinobi said:Eh, they've gotta show me...I remember when the New York media had their mouths all over the Knicks' Knocker 'cause they won five games in a row after the Starbury trade. OMG, THEY'RE THE BEST TEAM IN THE EAST!!!11...that sure lasted long.
It's a pretty medicore division though...might be even worse then the south east division in retrospect (Bobcats notwithstanding). So it's pretty much up for grabs. But none of them are doing shit outside the first round, so let's not kid ourselves.
:lol Still can't believe he hired Lenny Wilkens...he hasn't been an impactful head coach since Bush Senior was in office.
BTW, you can clearly take three steps in the NBA...just look at all the video highlights the last 5 years. :lol

Seriously, Okafor/Ely/Wallace/Kapono/Hart is a decent enough line up to lead us to 20-25 wins this season I think.
I think we should document this listopen_mouth_ said:*adds Shinobi's name to list of haterz that will be eating crow next season...crow I say!*
