I'm nervous, but confident.
It's been a great run for us if this ends up being our last game of the season. From what I've heard the Illini players seems to be extremely confident/cocky, I've heard they've been talking lots of trash, although I can't confirm this. I guess we'll see at 6PM.

It's like he was shell-shocked. Maybe ya'll D is just that good, but dam, it didn't even look like we were trying. Myles was the only one that looked to be hungry for the W. Oh well, guess I gotta root for the Illini now!

Illinois played a good game, but I mean when we're missing easy layups and 3's we've been hitting all year and Roger Powell of all people has a career game ... things aren't going your way. Can't do much about that. But unlike Illinois, we're going to be title contenders the next 5 years while Illinois won't be be in another 30 years, so I like our chances especially if Garcia stays as rumored. Plus you know, we have a BCS football team to look forward to unlike the other top basketball teams, so have fun while its lasts because it sure as hell will be a long time before Illinois is this good again.

And Garcia is 50/50 to go or not go. Pitino basically says late first round, he stays, mid first round, he goes. He basically says what Pitino recommends, he will do. The under 20 rule will clear out a lot of draft spots for next year, so if he waits - next year he'll be a likely lottery pick.

Jeez, this is thread has gotten testy! Anyway, one more team, North Carolina. Talent vs. Team as far as media would say. I'm deathly afraid of what Sean May could do. If Frye was any indication, he could have his way. But, Powell and Ingram played an amazing game Saturday, and looked primed as ever if we're going to stop him. About the other guys, I expect Head, Brown, and Williams to give them a hell of a battle defensively, and a lot to handle on the other side of the court too. I can't wait. Cubs at 4:10, carrying me all the way to the Illini game about. First championship game for an Illinois team, since the Jordan era. One more baby!

Augustine's an idiot to say anything the way he's played since Frye beat him bad. Powell and Ingram were fantastic in the PF and C spots last game. Anyway, I really want no trash talking by our players, especially not Augustine. Just play the game damn hard and say all you have to on the court. You're not a damn analyst, you're a player.

The Illini are not some shot in the dark team, Hollywood, here's the resume for the last five years- 4 Big Ten titles, 2 Number 1 NCAA Seeds, 1 round of 32, 2 Sweet 16, 1 Elite 8, and 1 Championship Game.
That's pretty good for just about any team. Success breeds succes, so it should get easier from here.
This will be my last post here before the game tonight, and I'm not about to predict Illinois by 20! We don't have anyone able to stop May, but I think that the defense is good enough to neutralize everyone else. It's going to be close, very close.. my final score is 84-80. I just don't know who will win. Either way it wouldn't surprise me, I'll only be surprised if it's a blowout.

A little explored storyline for this matchup is how Deron Williams "dream" school was UNC. Since a child he's wanted to play for the Tar Heels, they eventually recruited him (half-assedly i'm told), making him a #2 choice. #1? Felton.
