I had my suspicions that was him.

They can tell by the IP address of both accounts.
You generally want a bit more than ip address - many ISPs share ips between many users for instance - but one can also do some browser fingerprinting via cookies, user agent, screen resolution, etc and look at things like similar email addresses etc.

Or he made the account and called EviLore EviLore a cunt over PM. That would also do it.

I feel bad for Electro demon. Obviously GAF is important to him and it really sucks to lose a community you've been a part of, enjoyed, that helps pass the time and that keeps us entertained and sane while we're all on lock down.

I only saw him on the gaming side and from what I recall he was more sane and less abrasive than a lot of the obnoxious console warriors on both sides. What was the issue with him - before he called the site owner a cunt - I get that is an extremely valid reason for a perma-ban. But what led up to it?

Also why the hell do people on temp bans keep making alts? Do they think the Mods are stupid? It's not like the Mods don't catch these idiots every time and then BOOM, your temp ban just became permanent.

He made a lot of sexual/gross threads that went overboard with it so he lost his thread making privileges. He was really upset about that and was attacking other users.

He kept making threads about every gross body function or traditionally-out-of-bounds topic imaginable, every single day basically. : P

It was actually a lot of fun and produced a lot of groans and good humor, but began to cause him some trouble with the higher-ups, because it was a bit much at that frequency. They locked thread after thread. He kept doing it. They pulled his thread privileges.

Then the current saga you know pretty much began.

I feel bad for him too, and likewise miss him. I was just looking at OT for the latest crazy ED thread, then realized.

I have a theory that (Not specifically related to Elektro Demon) that there's a generation that has grown up being able within reason to post whatever they want on Youtube comments, Twitter, facebook because of automated and lax moderation. So when they come to a place with pro-active human involved moderation and they get modded they loose their fucking shit and can't handle being told NO.

When they even get cut some slack, they don't realize it and think the moderation "For them" is more like a suggestion. Until they get perma banned.

Elektro demon even used Tor to make an alt account because he didn't like the tag that was given to him, then bragged about it on this forum. Even then he was cut some slack and the tag on his original account was changed.

-Arcadia- -Arcadia- & TaySan TaySan Thanks for the info.

I knew he lost his thread making privileges, now I know why and I can understand it. The Mods have enough to do with out dealing with a continual repeat offender. He should have just quit making the damn threads when it was made it clear that his threads weren't appreciated by the Mod team.

I don't get why some people think they own this place and feel they can do what ever they want with no repercussions. It always ends badly for them. I mean you can disagree with the the Mod team or the site owner's rules but in the end you have to abide by them, leave of your own volition or be booted out.

Great post. You answered my my questions about some people's behavior here while I was typing it. Very prescient of you. :messenger_winking:

No comment on ED, as I don’t want to get involved. He’s a friend, I miss him, and that’s all.

That said, this is a really good general point.

I’d add that a lot of people are probably not used to being part of a community. Facebook and Twitter (etc.) call themselves communities, but they’re essentially megaphones designed around a single user.

Throw in a bit of the modern narcissism problem, with those two factors, and you have quite the stew.

Yep. Social media, and the internet in general, have created generations of people who think they have to have strong opinions on everything and share them as abrasively as possible to get attention. That or just be as edgy and shocking as possible to get upvotes, downvoted, likes, replies, shares, retweets etc.

He simply reacted to recent posts in the Meta GAF thread and his welcome back thread as if he was still on his original account.

Would be fine by me. Haven’t gotten to enjoy murdering a bunch of bible thumping trash since Bioshock Infinite.

I didn’t say I was immune to the problem. :messenger_beaming:

That said I was just feeling extra salty on the final day of the goddamn Easter even in Animal Crossing that made the game miserable to play for a week. That and I really do disdain any and all religions and everything to do with them and that leaks out at times.

How do they know when someone has an alt?

In ED's case, ironically, him making that alt Porch Pirate probably gave the mods enough forensic metadata to more easily confirm that latest alt.

Concerning Bo_Hazem Bo_Hazem ban, I don't necessarily agree with the things he claimed (lack of advanced 3D audio on XSX) but it was all speculation on his part which he provided information for his reasoning. I don't think he was trolling.
Same goes for the other side you have some people claiming PS5 lacks basic RDNA2 features without any evidence to back it up.

I'd just like to ask for clarification if that speculation is what got him banned. Im aware his history of warnings/bans play a role, not meaning to question the the decision.

Bo_Hazem Bo_Hazem case.

I do believe this guy was banned out of context and it is a "victim", in a way, of the old ERA Discord Tactic: bait and report.

(
I have sent to Mod of War: Remastered Mod of War: Remastered a capture of a private conversation with him - before the ban - where he knew he was being baited for some users who wanted him banned)

This guy was yesterday online like 20h (in a row) posting on point and sourcing all his posts without insulting or trolling.

At the end of the day, 5am UK time, this other guy (now banned) came to the thread to bait us all:

musNcwj.jpg

This is when he posted some memes, joking around like everyone else.

1 month for this is too much.

I can provide links of all the baits he has suffered in the last few days. There is a lot.
