Because you are trolling threads and starting low effort bait topics. And just to lay

conspiracy theories to bed, it was the same for the poster

- seriously
Stuart360
it's embarassing reading these remarks when we have a total of 90 pages worth of reply bans and site bans that evidence this is not the case. Please, elevate the conversation, this is not
ATS - genuinely thought you were more level headed than this.
Your conduct and M.O. was actually discussed in the mod channels a lot last night where examples and topics were all reviewed. Polite and subtle trolling is still trolling. Here is your comment that was basically based on nothing and stated as fact (again, notice the pattern here) - much as your stupid SSD topic and the follow up on BC for discs on discless consoles, that we have also been tracking. You haven't been flying under the radar, we have actively been keeping tabs on your posts and behaviour - since your account was flagged from the approval process. Now is the time to change, or decide if you want to be here.
However, if you want the reply ban lifted, I would ask that you evidence the above claim (bolded). Show us articles, and/or benchmarks where it shows the PS5 has thermal issues when running their system at the peak speeds, otherwise yes, you are trolling based on nothing. You have the exactly the same behaviour as all the rest. Try and pass something contentious off as fact with no substantiation. Just like if we were to say Microsoft made conservative estimates on their SSD speed because the NVMe will run too hot and cause thermal issues and they don't want to overreach. It's rooted in nothing but fanboyism and speculation you want to be true. At the moment, the reply ban stands and the site ban warning will remain. Luckily for you, you have lots of threads and nothing but time to prove you are engaging honestly and genuinely by:
i. Not making bait threads, or stupid threads that are designed just to cause fights;
ii. Not making stupid claims as facts without presenting proper evidence, which are designed just to antagonise people.
If this is too much of an ask, you are welcome to exercise your right to leave/not log in.
With regards to my post that was deemed ban worthy what I said was from what I have read about.
The GPU clock of 2.23ghz is the upper limits of clock speeds.
Toms Hardware has put out expected specs of RDNA 2 cards. Navi 21 was said to have a clock speed of less than 1.80ghz, while Big Navi having a max of 2.25ghz clock speed.
The AMD Big Navi / RDNA 2 architecture powers the latest consoles and high-end graphics cards.
www.google.com
RDNA 1 cards had a maximum of 2.07ghz over clocked with boost.
AXRX-5700XT-8GBD6-WDH/OC
Not only that but all Nvidia card are below the clock speed of the PS5.
Eurogamer said in their PS5 breakdown
"However, for Sony this means that PlayStation 5 can hit GPU frequencies way, way higher than we expected. Those clocks are also significantly higher than anything seen from existing AMD parts in the PC space."
So to say that the PS5 is in the upper limits of clock speeds isn't trolling, but is a fact.
We dont have benchmarks from RDNA 2 cards yet, but it is safe to say that the PS5 GPU at 2.23ghz is going to generate alot of heat, and will require a very good cooling solution. This is apart of why variable clocks are used.
This was also pointed out by Eurogamer in their PS5 breakdown.
"So how does boost work in this case? Put simply, the PlayStation 5 is given a set power budget
tied to the thermal limits of the cooling assembly. "It's a completely different paradigm," says Cerny. "Rather than running at constant frequency and letting the power vary based on the workload, we run at essentially constant power and let the frequency vary based on the workload."
Smartshift was used to shift power around the APU and because Sony wqs running at the higher end of clocks, and therefore thermals, to help mitigate this.
From AMD on Smartshift.
"SmartShift is also part of a new System Temperature Tracking paradigm that AMD is implementing in its new APUs. Even if there is power headroom, a system can’t turbo if there isn’t thermal headroom. Smart Temperature Tracing v2 (or STTv2) is designed to help a system boost for longer by knowing more about the thermal profile of the device."
Now as Microsoft is not pushing their clocks into the same territory as Sony is, and isn't using variable clocks, there was no need for them to use Smartshift.
As I said, what I wrote in that post was not trolling. It is factual from what I understand it.
I think I have shown that what I wrote is backed up by facts, and comes from information that is there to be consumed.
Can you now explain how what I wrote is still a troll?
