I saw today 1Password is on sale.
I've been thinking about getting it for a while, but I still fail to understand completely how it works. Can someone explain it a bit?
Questions I have:
- Does it auto-complete passwords? That is, if I want to log in to gaf, or twitter, or to my bank app, will it put the password automatically for me? Or will I have to go to the app to retrieve it?
- Does it work well to store passwords? I started using different passwords for different sites/apps/services a few months ago. Right now, I'm starting to not being able to remember all of them.
- What prevents anyone from accessing my 1Password app? I mean, I don't understand why would I put all my different passwords for different sites under one single password. If I lost this password (the 1Password password (this is starting to sound silly )), would that mean I would have lost too all my passwords?
Hope someone can help!
1) You have to go into the app and retrieve it.
2) It's an awesome tool to store passwords, I've been using it on my PC/MAC/IOS devices and sync's it via your dropbox account (encrypted of course). It's really nice.
3) A numerical password has to be entered each time the app is re-opened. Once you enter the app, to view any single password for a site a master password has to be entered.
If you're looking for a password manager that is compatible with a lot of devices and has automatic backups to cloud + sync's without any user notice then go for 1password.
