Tapbots having only one developer and one designer is crazy. A mac client is inevitable but PC…not happening. Especially since it lacks iCloud.

Yeah, where is all that money going? Aren't they incredibly successful by now for a $4 app across two platforms? I wish they'd hire some people, i'd love for pastebot to get a revival/iPad version.

Oh and I also wish they'd just merge convertbot and calcbot into one, I use them both synonymously and jumping between the two to calculate stuff is a bitch, even though both independently are great.

They're pocketing most of it, I'd imagine

Anyone using the iCloud sync for tweetbot?

Seems definitely worse than tweet marker in my 2 second test. I'm willing to give it another go if people are having good results with it. But my initial test had no auto scrolling thus killing it for me.

Working here.

Holy crap thanks for this!

yeah; almost needs to come with a manual. My 64gb ipad 1 (videopad) is now nice and full with vimeos+youtubes of various shit and its all nicely sorted. still need to work out why its not showing names on the ipad (at the top level on ipad videos - the groups are named in itunes and show up there) but the group issue is sorted

I'm pretty happy with it right now

Not working for me either... :(.

Switched back to Tweet Marker for now

and that is why Pages is absolutely worthless

And why I'm really looking forward to Microsoft's response on the iPad. They'd be stupid not to launch a feature-competitive version of Word that syncs with their own cloud services and allows your docs to be completely cross-compatible and easily accessible on nearly everything but Linux.

Except I would want Word for iOS to sync with my Dropbox instead of Skydrive, and there's simply no way that will happen.

In a related note - I'm currently using QuickOffice since it allows for both Google and Dropbox integration, plus Doc and Docx exporting. But it has a nasty habbit of constantly crashing.

Is there something better out there, or is everthing just saving to .txt now?

My dog was murdered by a 3.5mm audio port and I will not rest until the standard is dead
very cool but I still need tweet marker for my desktop client (maybe tapbots will get on that one day)

Yup. Until there's Tweetbot for my MBA, I will have to stick to Tweetmarker. Also, my Galaxy Nexus doesn't have Tweetbot, either :(

I'm looking for a good writing app (iPhone), currently using Write 2 lite but hit the doc limit. Is there anything better out there or should I just upgrade Write 2?

Which app would you recommend for reading manga? I just downloaded Manga Storm. Looks nice, but seems to be a bit buggy. Many UI glitches; overlapping elements, cropped pages and so on. (What's the meaning of the star icon? "Read chapter"? Then why are there chapters without icons?)

¿Are you looking for a manga app to download/read online or do you have manga files you'd like to copy from your desktop to read?

Paper or plastic?
Thanks for the suggestion! I often study/read/sleep best when there's some ambient noise in the background. I used to put on RainyMood.com for these things. So goddamn relaxing.

You weren't kidding. I've been using nature soundtracks to go to sleep for a while now, but this app takes the cake! It's all I need.

Trying different PDF readers and not too impressed with PDFmate as each time I change slide, the slid pixelates and it annoys the shit out of me.

Even reading in Dropbox there is not pixelation. But I'm ok with iBooks for now anyway. What other features will be be missing in GoodReeder?

Geez, what's with IM+ on the iPad? I can neither change the font size nor turn off that annoying sounds. It just doesn't work, my settings are being ignored.

There must be a better app out there? I just need MSN and ICQ.

Anyone have any input regarding plex vs air video? I'm looking into setting up a network streaming solution in my home and plex would give me more options, but if air video is a better iOS solution I may have to give greater consideration to it.

Well it depends on your usage, Air Video is great for videos in folders and all that, but Plex is very specific with their media manager for Movies/TV shows etc.

I use Plex for streaming movies and Video Stream (basically Air Video) for vids in random folders on my MBP.

Bingo. I'd use the new sync in a heartbeat if they would release desktop clients for Mac and pc.

Okay guys, it's been a long time since I updated the first post - can someone please come up with any suggestions, recommendations etc on apps I may have missed, or apps that I've listed that have now been surpassed. Thank you!

would be interesting with best exercise apps with running apps a separate category

I currently have:
Cyclemeter (good with audio feedback for all forms of aerobic excercise)
Nike +
Garmin fit
Run Coach Pro
Run keeper

I only have experience of using Cyclemeter for walking and commuting by bicycle but will start running soon and wonder what you use and would recommend for a beginner running 1-3 times a week.

With the recent news of Facebook buying Instagram, I'm out. I just don't want to integrate my photo sharing with my Facebook (which I seldomly use). Any OTHER good photo hosting/sharing applications worth looking at?

Path. It's meant to be more private, so it's a great means to share with family/friends.

Are there any good alternate photo taking apps than the included "camera" app? I don't really need editing options but bonus if included. I don't mind paying, doesn't have to be free

Edit: i just read the OP, 1st thing listed, doh! Still open to suggestions, though

I use (and really like) Pro HDR.

When did they ever say that this would happen? They said the Instagram service will remain intact. Not to mention it's already integrated with Facebook.

People are understandably suspicious and unwilling to take them at their word on this :p

I don't really see how they could ruin it, apart from shutting it down or rebranding it as a Facebook picture sharing service. Users can already integrate it with their FB accounts, which imports the album and such.

The most likely outcome will just be more exposure to the app with an increased userbase. All of my friends already use Facebook so I'm welcoming to the idea.

Ipad APP faceoff: Notewriting Apps:

so right now i've got:

noteshelf
penultimate (which used to be like DABEST)
bamboo paper
PAPER by 53

I'm thinking that I should delet penultimate as noteshelf has seriously developed its way into a much superior product. Penultimate; hasn't aged well in comparison. They've kept if fairly simple, have't added text. I'm I have so many duplicate apps that do the same thing. That its time to clean up the ipad. Any idea which I should lose?

I think bamboo goes. and penultimate.

I hope paper gets a potrait mode soon.

* lol. I just touched my laptop screen to click on the submit button.

Plex just updated for the retina iPad and added higher bitrate streaming for the new devices. I think it's safe to say that if you don't want to transcode its going to give you the highest quality video around.

What about notability? Really like that one
