Is there a better Google Reader app for the iPad than Reeder? I hate the thumbnail view, except for two feeds it only shows very tiny favicons.

I'm looking for something that is GR only; for feed/news discovery I've already got Zite and Flipboard.

Feeddler Pro or River of News, I prefer Feeddler Pro since it is universal and has a cleaner look

or just use mobile version of google reader (since the google web apps suck on iPad due to that the scrolling is shit)

After searching high and low, and weighing up the pros and cons of several others, I recently picked up Mr. Reader - I haven't regretted it at all, and would highly recommend it. Syncs really well, and I've found that it allows me to wade through my countless feeds really efficiently. Nicely put together app, lots of nice little touches, I reckon.

Edit: the slideshow thing on the website gives a really good overview of its features.

Have an issue hopefully one of you guys can help with. I bought a bunch of apps for my phone over the course of 4 months (got the 4S in Dec), my last iCloud backup was dated March 18 (At that point I ran out of space). From March 18th until last week neither itunes or iCloud had a backup of my phone on hand. Last week my phone got stuck at the apple screen and would not load at all, so I did a restore / update. Now some of the apps I bought aren't showing up (obviously since my last backup was March). When I go to the app store to look at my purchased apps, there not listed there either. When I go to the actual app page on the store they want me to buy the app again...am I SOL? Granted I only bought like 7 in that timeframe of March to April it's the principle. I have my receipts for all of them, but is there anyway to restore them without having to buy them again?

You bought them on the same apple id? Tell iTunes support.

I now recommend iCab. I started to find Atomic constantly crashing with several tabs open. That same tab arrangement poses no issues for iCab. And it has just as many custom gestures, Dropbox saving, saving inside the app, integration with other applications, etc.

Also, iCab seems to have much better developer support than Atomic. I don't think Atomic has been updated since...December? iCab has had 5 or 6 updates between December and now...and it shows. Better interface, better stability, just about all of the same features, and some that are even nicer.

If Atomic gets a proper update, I think this conversation can be reviewed again...but as of right now, I've tried/own:

Safari
Dolphin
Atomic
iCab

iCab is best of the group. I am only sad that I can't change iCab to my default browser. I'm not a fan of everything opening in Safari, and only jailbroken devices can change the default browser.

I like icab as well, but find the render speed much slower than dolphin.

is Tetris by any chance one of those titles?

EA removed the old version and you have to rebuy the game if you do not have a backup.

Might be similar with other apps since Apple does not seem to care about this customer hostile business method

just discovered that iTunes does not update all apps when you "check for updates"

when I go into the app stores top lists a lot of the apps I have downloaded have the "update" button instead of downloaded. Anyone know why?
bug or just iTunes being shit as usual?

it doesn’t update apps when you “check for updates” - it’s just a check, after all - it updates apps after you check for updates and then click on the “download all” button on the results page.

it’s always worked for me so i imagine that you didn’t click the download all button on the app update page.

or else the download got interrupted or cancelled after you did try to download it.

So these must never have appeared on the update check screen

hmm. that is weird. so those apps have the update button in the store and do not show up on the updates page if you click “check for updates” again?

sometimes app updates take a while to propagate across all the servers at certain times of day. I’ve seen instances where I click the “check for updates” button and, say, 6 apps show up. then I click it again and 7 apps show. then a third time and it’s back to 6.

this happened to me a couple times. anyway, it’s possible that these types of issues when an update has just been uploaded could result in an app getting removed from the queue while the other apps are downloading.

however, even in this case, if you clicked the “check for updates” button again in a short time, the missing apps would show up on that screen again.

Is there an alternative to Apple's camera app (cheap or free, I just want the basic photo/email functionality) that doesn't depend on EXIF tags to specify portrait orientation?

How many apps do you have? I've discovered that iTunes can only update up to 200 apps in one go.

It doesn't look as great, but I love Mr. Reader. Just jam-packed with features and great for sifting through feeds for sending longer articles to read into Instapaper. Image thumbnails for each item also makes it very quick to scan image only feeds quickly without having to scroll a ton as opposed to say in River of News (which I also use sometimes if I do want to see big images of everything).

Was trying to get Path for the theme and accidentally found a new theme.

Click Gift Me in the menu. It'll load up the iTunes store but you can just close it and get a theme

It updates all apps bought under one account. If you have more than one account, you have to login into that separate account then update.

I checked off an item just now, 12:33am, and unlocked the Night Owl theme.

Oh wow. I just saw Lego Super Hero Movie Maker. I'd be all over it if I still have my old toys. Would probably be great for people with children too.

Anyone try "Camera Awesome" yet? I discovered it from a GAF ad banner, actually (it looked really clean), and all the iTunes reviews are glowing. Looks even better than Camera+.

Twitch.tv app got updated and lists fixes for all the issues I saw on ocassion.

Fixed - crashes related to search
Fixed - crashes related to memory issues when the app is running a long time
Fixed - other crashes and greatly improve performance

Love this app.

It compresses the shit out of everything, in my experience. Deleted it in less than a hour.

That's way too bad, looks better than Camera+ in every way. You sure there wasn't something about the in the settings?

I installed it and the default client thing worked but the push notifications do not. I installed Sparrow Push and that seemed to make push notifications work but uninstalled Sparrow+ so the default client thing didn't.

Apparently the push broke but the fix will come out today according to the developer.

After trying every fitness app on iOS, I finally found a winner.

Runmeter.

It is like a superset of Nike+, Runkeeper, and the countless "to 5k" apps. I don't want to sound like an advertisement, but if you run/cycle/walk/ski, if you can think of it, this app does it, and a whole bunch of other stuff. I don't think I've ever been as blown away with an iOS app as this one.

I was about to say...reading the the description and looking at the interface and the name of the app...I was like "isn't this just Cyclemeter, only for running?" and yep. Same people. :lol

I'm pretty sure you can use cyclemeter or runmeter or walkmeter for any of these activities, though.

Anyone have any recommendations for a good budgeting/personal finance app?
I'm in the UK, so Mint (which seems to easily be the best) is unfortunately not much good. Preferably something universal that syncs between devices. Everything that's free or has free versions I've tried has been garbage.
