lol I just looked up how easy it is to jailbreak. May as well.

My only hesitation is battery life draining faster, or so I've read. Wonder if it's made to be a bigger deal that it actually is. Barely get 10 hours as is. (medium brightness)

Let me know how it goes.

I didn't have a battery problem when I did it with a iphone 4.

Absinthe didn't work for me either, but the other one (can't remember the name) was flawless... I've always jailbroken every iOS version I can, to be honest I don't understand how people can have an iPhone without it being jailbroken :/

Just got Nitrous by the way, thank you! Wish there was a way to make it automatically active for all apps though

I got it working, just had to wipe and restore.

Now what? I cant remember why i had it jailbroken before. Totally worth it for Chrome default though.

Someone please recommend a good music player (not jailbroken). I am tired of having to boot up a computer to delete shit from the stock Music player.

"However, Google was careful to reiterate that "Google Now" is about the ambient information cards, while "Voice Search" is a separate thing on Android 4.1. In other words, "Google Now" is not coming to its search app on iOS, just "Voice Search.""

Come on, son.
I originally based it on a 9to5mac article but changed the link to verge because that was what 9to5mac linked to, but I didn't read the verge article yet.

I was watching the original iPhone announcement for some reason, and it's surreal to see Eric Schmidt coming up on stage and praising the work they've done together.

And then Jerry Yang comes on stage. :jnc
Is there anything special you need to do to get Push Sparrow working?
You on jailbreak, you son of a gun?

Yep. Pretty much the only thing I've done is made Chrome my default browser and bought Sparrow (but I can't get Push Sparrow to work so it's pointless).

Sparrow has push-support (hypothetically) with jailbreak?

Hrm...I've got nothing to lose considering it's about 45 days until the next iPhone announcement.

Assuming you're jailbroken, install sparrow, install sparrow+ from FreeManRepo (http://freemanrepo.com/reposetup)

Then you just have to enable it on a per account basis in sparrow in the settings

You also reminded me of another reason why I can't immediately get an iPhone 5 when it comes out :lol

I don't know if I could manage without Sparrow+, SBSettings, MyWi, & Nitro :(

I have it set up but for some reason I am not getting the "Sparrow Push" settings in the Sparrow settings menu so I'm not able to enable push.

I've never been able to get Sparrow+ to work with anything past Sparrow 1.2. It really doesn't bother me since the app isn't going to be updated anytime soon.

Thanks for the bump, looks like his repo (whatever the hell that is) is back. Just upgraded Sparrow, lets see if it works!

Twitter's new rules blow and basically are going to make 3rd party apps like Tweetbot extinct. Fuck you Twitter.

Just reading through the timeline of one of Tweetbot's developers (@tapbot_paul), and he doesn't seem too concerned at this stage. He believes the user count limits and other restrictions aren't going to impact their app too much.

The writing is on the wall long-term though, I guess. Trying to monetize the service was always going to put the squeeze on somewhere, somehow.

Did the latest ebay app update kill it on anyone else's iPad 1? It just crashes back to the homescreen every time I try and open it, even after a power cycle.

Who remembers Things, the to do manager?

It recently got the long awaited cloud sync update as well as a visual refresh. I think they really hit it out of the park in terms of UI design. Even though they still used their own custom design elements, it still feels right at home in iOS. Great example of an app that can create its own identity while still maintaining the platform's aesthetic.

Some videos of it in action.

Looks nice except for the fact that it seems to only sync with Things and not with Google Drive, iCloud, Dropbox, or anything other than Things ;|

Things is very much style over substance too - I'm not saying it lacks functionality or anything, just that they seem to do things that look great and intuitive on videos, but when you actually use the app it's not really that great.

Plus as Mairu said, the fact it doesn't sync with anything is a joke - unless you use exclusively Apple products at home and at work, it's worthless

I love NCSettings, but really wish when you were using the flashlight that the screen stays on - or at least the flashlight! Basically when the phone locks itself after (60 seconds?) the flashlight goes off, and you have to unlock the phone again to turn it back on... and if you want to turn the flashlight off then, you have to go back through all of the menus again, especially annoying if the flashlight is on your third page of icons :S

Anybody with a jailbroken devices has to try out NCSettings.

Had no idea what I was getting myself into when I jb'd my iPhone but it was totally worth it for this alone.

Thanks for this. Just installed it and removed SBSettings. Love it's simplicity. Only (minor) con is that unlike SBSettings you can't access it from the lock screen.

Cool, what else are you guys using with your jail broken phones?

I would like to know this as well.

Cool, what else are you guys using with your jail broken phones? Sparrow, Chrome as default and now ncsettings is it.

Check the Jailbreak thread.

Currently, I'm in the mood for a new weather app. AccuWeather isn't cutting it for me anymore. Any suggestions? Radar map and daily forecast summary are musts.

Hold up, I'm confused. This is a GTD app--why would you need syncing with online storage lockers like Dropbox or iCloud if it has a built in service for the desktop app too? Do you mean syncing with web calendars?

Things is very much style over substance too - I'm not saying it lacks functionality or anything, just that they seem to do things that look great and intuitive on videos, but when you actually use the app it's not really that great.

Gaaraz--I'm not sure I follow your comment about style over substance. Could you elaborate? I found OmniFocus and 2Do to be really heavy handed compared to the simple Things interface.
