Hey, thanks for the kind words guys/gals....I am so excited I am busting at the seams :D

Although I have driven sports cars before, this one is the first one that I can call my own...up till now, the fastest car I have ever owned is my wifes BMW X5 4.4i [what, you don't think all those A/V upgrades came without a price did you? :D ] and I don't get to drive it that often...

My daily drive is a *drum roll* 1995 Toyota Corolla DX (hides head in shame) and I do have my Liquid Silver 2003 Yamaha YZF-R1 superbike for the weekends to supply my need for speed..

Still, I have been longing for a nice sports car since I have been old enough to drive (I'm 36 now) and have worked my ass off for a long time so I could put myself in a position to be a Z06 owner....I can hardly believe it myself :)

TheOMan, Mitsubishi will indeed be using styling cues from that eclipse concept coupe in the production 2006 Eclipse, or so I have heard from sites around the web...I hope you enjoy it once you get it :)

I don't understand why anyone would buy these cars. I test-drove a Mazdaspeed Miata and wound up swapping ends on the on-ramp to a freeway. Thank God for Gran Turismo (and the lack of any witnesses/traffic) or I would've cracked it up big-time.

Maybe you should take some advanced road tests...you can get a lot more out of a performance vechile while being a lot safer. That's gonna be my goal in the next couple of years...if I ever get around to acquiring a license. :lol

Quite frankly some people couldn't drive a four wheel drive fully assisted vechile to save their lives, nevermind a rear wheel drive car with a bit of grunt. The amount of crashes that occur during the first snow storm of the season up here is pretty embarassing. Much of this also stems from idiots thinking all-seasonal tires will work on snow and ice just as well as winter treads. :lol

Congrats on the new car BTW...personally I can't wait to see my boy Ron Fellows and his teamates strut it's stuff in the American Le Mans series, as well as the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

American cars are kinda like the laughing stock of the car industry. Big engines (too big), good air conditioning and cup holders to generalize for a bit.

The new Corvette is the same way. Engine is too powerful and the handling is said to be just aweful. Top Gear wasn't too excited about the car, and if there's one orginazation you can trust with reviews, it's Top Gear

As is the case with all Top Gear reviews, it was done tounge in cheek and was quite funny...

There was this one part were the reviewer was demonstrating how hard the ride was in a C6 by placing a coin on the road and then driving over it in the C6....once it hit the coin he grabbed his kidney in pain

The review went on to be quite critical of the Vettes Leaf Springs, handling and build quality and stuff....they were actually laughing at the car, but anyone who is familiar with Clarkeson and Co, knows its all just in good phun...it was funny stuff that some of the American Vette forums took a bit to seriously and had shitfits about (think back when apple fans found out Bungie was being bought out by Microsoft and you will get a sample of the unbridled fury of the internet C6 fans over the TG review).....funny, funny stuff...

fuck man, if you only respect one american car in your lifetime, it has to be the 'vette...

The real laughing stock of the industry should be the overpriced, underpowered, over-stylized empty italian supercars...IMO.

anyway...

Such a beautiful car...i haaaate you
