Most of those are from the current GI. Good read if anyone is interested in the game. The premise is very interesting and the online and multiplayer elements sound awesome.

In the interview, Jones stated that they new they wouldn't be able to have pjoto realistic visuals given the scope of the game, but they wanted something that would make the game stand apart visually. Love it or hate it, the damn thing does stand out.

Love it or hate it, the damn thing does stand out.

Yeah, to the point where it looks as if someone pasted the characters into the settings. The effect reminds me of some of the failed attempts at polygonal + pre-rendered graphics from the 32-bit era.
