Two characters on screen? Big f*cking deal!
I don't care what sort of bells and whistles are present, flare, blur, ass-mapping, linear testicular gradient filtering. . . demand more from developers, or you'll only have yourself to blame when all you're playing are slightly prettier versions of the crap you played last gen!
C- Warrior said:I was impressed to know that the game engine is capable of handling Dead Rising amount of enemies. PSW3 described a scene where you're grappling above and along buildings, and the streets are filled with "thousands of enemies on screen at once." as they put it.
So DMC4 is : Lost Planet + Dead Rising + 60 fps + 1080p + DMC4's superior art and design team.
Sounds good.
The only, and main reason why is because its using some if not all of the lost planet engine plus whatever capcom have done to it since the end of last year, aka improved it.Forceatowulf said:Ugh, see this is one of the problems I have, I hate how people are comparing it's visuals to Lost Planet. No one ever did that to DMC1 or 3, no one compared their visual style to other games, because it was it's own thing. This whole reused engine thing Capcom is doing is perhaps the only bad choice they have made this gen in my eyes. I just wish DMC4 was it's own complete special unique thing. It really deserves to be.
It looks utterly amazing to me and nothing anyone says will ever change that. But the lost planet comments are just annoying. Ugh...
Pretty sure thats a lava effect...drohne said:i think the lost planet resemblance mostly comes from the design of that boss -- glowy orange spikes against a blue-black body. he bleeds orange too.

rod said:well, imo, id rather it compared to lost planet (one of the best looking games ever, period.) than looking bad, like the ps2 games were. dmc 1/3 were ****ing fantastic games, but graphical (technical) masterpieces, they were not.

wtf does this have to do with re4?

Oldschoolgamer said:DMC1 still holds up to this day, and it was one of the better looking games when it came out. DMC3 isn't the greatest looking game, but, in spots...it blows a lot of other games out of the water(I.E. Inside Leviathan, the elevator, Hell, etc..). They weren't exactly masterpieces, but, they were moving at 60fps proper, and that was a lot better than some.

needs more blur.

DKnight said:Underwhelming graphics... but who cares; as long as it follows DMC3 steps in terms of gameplay and challenge, it's going to be awesome.
Pistolero said:Looks Lost-Planetish : Clean and effects-heavy ! Excellent job, Capcom. Bring in the 60 fps smoothness baby !

really.
Proc said:I skipped 2 and 3, this looks promising. The original was loads of fun, definitely looking forward to getting back into some juggling fun, lets hope for more twisted puppets. Out of curiosity sakes, any idea what platform these screens are taking from?
C- Warrior said:Simple thought process : Lost Planet looked great, Dead Rising looked great, DMC4 is with a more updated engine, 60 fps, better art design with a more talented development team with probably a larger budget. By natural logic, it'll look better than two already graphically revered titles.
