New DMC4 Screens -- Does Wario say wow?

Hot shit, deserves it own thread. It's the updated build they have now just shown since last TGS.

What's even better is that they've been working on the game for about 2 years and it's nowhere near close to release. 1080p native hopefully too.

Can't wait to see these shots in motion at 60 fps.

it looks....like lost planet may cry!!!:lol no seriously. this is a great engine capcom has made. no problems with it. can DEFINETLY see the lost planet-nss of it showing thru

I love the fire effects and textures on the monster but this is probably way better in motion. Don't get me wrong it looks good but I wish it didn't feel so barren with the two of them and not much else.

Looks freakin' awesome! The 7th pic reminds me of Lost Planet's explosions effect.

Yeah I know it's the same engine...:P

that boss battle is going to be epic. i dislike using the word 'epic' to describe videogames, but i'm too tired to think of a better one, and besides that boss battle looks epic. and yeah, it does resemble lost planet.

its like Lost planet but running at 60fps
so its gonna be stunning in motion.

I cant believe its 1080p though , too much

I was impressed to know that the game engine is capable of handling Dead Rising amount of enemies. PSW3 described a scene where you're grappling above and along buildings, and the streets are filled with "thousands of enemies on screen at once." as they put it.

So DMC4 is : Lost Planet + Dead Rising + 60 fps + 1080p + DMC4's superior art and design team.

Sounds good.

Looks lovely, but what is it with Capcom and sub-par textures? Most of these are great and a few awful ones do rear their ugly head.

Ah well, it'll probably be changed later and if not it's a worthy sacrifice for 60 fps.

Agreed. You're not going to care the texture of a small pebble behind a bush isn't as good as could be -- sacrifices need to be made to make it 60 fps but in the end it'll be loved for it.

THAT IS WHY YOU MUST RELEASE A ****ING DEMO CAPCOM!

*hint hint*

It looks nice, but I think it'll look good in motion. Screens don't do any game justice.

But I'd like to see screens from new scenes and places in the game already.

I think we should all be patient. I'm sure Capcom will release a demo globally but they are waiting until they can polish the game so it is up to par with the DMC3 demo that was released with RE:OUfile2. In that way, it will prevent a public outcry on how people will be saying the gameplay was downgraded. Let's face it, the TGS DMC4 demo is a mere shadow of the awesomeness of the DMC3 demo.

Not a single shadow in sight. Low resolution textures and low poly everything.

But 1920 * 1080 @ 60 fps made me say WOW.

nothing impressive to see actually.. some of you guys get carried away too fast.

lots of flames , low detail everything

Hm. The first screen looks heavily airbrushed to me.

Capcom usually doesn't release Bullshots, this is capcom, not team ninja remember :lol

I think it more has to do with the fact that it's a cutscene shot, so the depth of field mixed with the fire/flame/smoke creates such an illusion.

The demon behemoth reminds of the dragons in Lair in that the textures look muddy. However, also similar to Lair though (recent dev movie) is that once you get some lighting on it (9th image), it seems to clear up better.

Stunning. Absolutely breath taking.
GAF will still complain

The LP engine was silky smooth so it should be perfect for the gameplay of DMC4. Considering DMC4 won't require the same draw distance as LP, no reason why this game won't maintain a silky smooth 60fps frame rate.

Oh and Capcom is absolutely incredible. They have bitch-slapped every other developer this generation. Not only have they shown how to take advantage of next-gen systems to create original content, not only did they show Japanese developers they can sell millions of copies on the Xbox 360, but they are now showing all of them how you can make a multiplatform title and STILL make it look so good it's in the running for best looking game with the exclusive titles coming out this year. Best of all....RE5 has yet to come. Seriously, Capcom is THE next-gen third party developer role model.

I see some shadows. I wonder if they are as they are because of all the fire that is supposed to be around or because of not being final.

:lol

I think this thread has shown there is a new type of troll : "the, it doesn't look good cus its a multiplatform game" troll :lol

Simple thought process : Lost Planet looked great, Dead Rising looked great, DMC4 is with a more updated engine, 60 fps, better art design with a more talented development team with probably a larger budget. By natural logic, it'll look better than two already graphically revered titles.

Seriously.

Two characters on screen? Big f*cking deal!

I don't care what sort of bells and whistles are present, flare, blur, ass-mapping, linear testicular gradient filtering. . . demand more from developers, or you'll only have yourself to blame when all you're playing are slightly prettier versions of the crap you played last gen!
