New DMC4 Screens -- Does Wario say wow?

All of that + psp graphics, quite a dream. :)
They're porting DMC4 to PSP?
Capcom must've really been set back by PS3 investment that they'll port to handheld titles as well.

unacceptable!!

Oh wow, I really don't remember DMC3 looking that ugly (Played it yesterday). Looks like psx. Guess that's what you get for taking a bright screen shot of it and upscaling it or whatever. Time for me to throw that game away.

DMC3 is butt ugly

I was impressed to know that the game engine is capable of handling Dead Rising amount of enemies. PSW3 described a scene where you're grappling above and along buildings, and the streets are filled with "thousands of enemies on screen at once." as they put it.

So DMC4 is : Lost Planet + Dead Rising + 60 fps + 1080p + DMC4's superior art and design team.

Sounds good.
What!? :D

I think this thread has shown there is a new type of troll : "the, it doesn't look good cus its a multiplatform game" troll :lol

Simple thought process : Lost Planet looked great, Dead Rising looked great, DMC4 is with a more updated engine, 60 fps, better art design with a more talented development team with probably a larger budget. By natural logic, it'll look better than two already graphically revered titles.

I just...I can't understand half of the reactions in this thread. It's like people are looking--really f*cking hard--to find something, anything to complain about. Not enough polygons being used? Textures are too low resolution? There's no self-shadowing?
They don't like it, because it's a video-game. No one likes video-games. No one plays them, either.

Seriously.

Two characters on screen? Big f*cking deal!

I don't care what sort of bells and whistles are present, flare, blur, ass-mapping, linear testicular gradient filtering. . . demand more from developers, or you'll only have yourself to blame when all you're playing are slightly prettier versions of the crap you played last gen!
WOW did you even read what C- Warrior wrote?
jimbo said:
Yes the game will only have TWO characters on screen, Dante and some other guy, the entire game. This is NOT a boss-fight.

Go play with yourself.

SDTVs give you free 4xAA. That was a shot from the frame buffer.

It is kind of an unfair comparison anyhow. It would be more fair to post Lost Planet screens.

HDTVs should give you that option.

"OH SHIT IT'S UGLY! TURN ON THE BLUR, TURN ON THE BLUR!!!"

Seems like people are trying to compair DMC3 with lost planet, or orther higher spec games. This is a PS2 game, what do you expect? And I still don't think it look like that screen shot I quoted. Not when no bright effects are going off and nothing is moving. DMC3 looked very good when it was first released. The dust that kicks up when you hit monsters, the cerberus fight of the demo, and other things. DMC3 don't look bad or dated at all.

People expect a lot from next gen. Heck people put MGS4's textures under the same microscope. They have a right to expect major leaps since the next group of consoles were obviously needed so soon (I'm not serious there. I think old gen* still looks great). Ok what's being spotted in this thread. Textures, detail, lighting, shading, and the like? Xbox people come into lair, heavenly sword, etc threads and bash those games for the same thing. Oh and guess what, this is also a ps3 game, it just happen to also be a pc and xbox360 game also. A mod will clean bad trolls up.

Blimblim I love you, everytime you've quoted Karasu you've done the same thing :lol

BTW, only one's persons opinion matters in this thread...wario64 -- where is his post...where is is wow!?

And lol at people grabbing super bad, frame-buffer, ****ed up DMC3 screens just to make a point.

IGN: graphics score 9/10
Gamespot -the kasavin- graphics score : 9/10
gamespy: dmc3 "has gorgeous visuals..."

DMC3 looks good, and it still does as far as I'm concerned:

Well, I have to agree with those who are underwhelmed. It DOES look multiplatformed and cannot compete graphically with the best on either system. It isn't in the same ballpark as Mass Effect, Gears of War, or Blue Dragon on the 360. It isn't even in the same GALAXY as Heavenly Sword or Ratchet and Clank.

Capcom sold out, and the game is not the best it could be because of it. I own both systems and just want a kickass game. I don't care if it is for PS3 or 360, but I want a non multiplatform-conforming piece of crap like EA makes...

I think it looks a lot better than the recently released shots of Heavenly Sword. A billion soldiers on the battlefield or not.

DMC4 is a big leap from DMC3

DMC3 didnt look in stills, it only looked great in motion because everything was moving so fast, DMC4 looks amazing in still shots and will look even better in motion.

I'm disappointed that this won't the next gen DMC I was hoping for, something that could set a new standard, the multiplatform strategy doesn't allow Capcom to really use the power of the hardware to make something unique but I still believe the game will be great and it's on my most wanted list. Now if they only could release a playable demo....

But...but...but...Heavenly Sword is da exclusive to ps3 so it's super powerful?! And it only does 30 fps so it has extra graphical power!111

oh come on dude! The snow stage, the cost stage in DMC4 look totally barren. Absolutely zero interactivity...

In HS at least you got tables and chairs etc you can smash up.

I really did say wow...and as a DMC fan I have to say yes the games graphics back in the day were crap but DMC4 is definitely a step above.

Oh shitz.

DMC4 looks decent. Don't really care about the graphics that much. I'm much more interested in Heavenly Sword, but I'll buy both.

Uh...? Except for the fact that Heavenly Sword WILL look better than DMC4. From what we've seen, DMC4 has pretty much the same animations as 3. Heavenly Swords animations = ****ing awesome. Also, the enemies on the screen won't even surpass 5-6. How I know this? It's DMC for christ's sake.

From the new feature in PSM UK :

"We also witness one area where Nero grapples from building to building with over thousands of enemies on screen."

It is using sharing the Dead Rising engine...you were saying?

over 2000 in HS :lol

Plus they crazy physics going on with bazookas and shit.

Doom_Bringer said:
HS also has 4X AA. DMC4 is a very jaggy game

these shots are totally doctard

Or they could just be from the PC version. DMC4 looks like a game that could easily be 1080p/4xaa on high end videocards.

Hey you, zip it.

Please, don't get me started... that could've been done on PS2 (I'm dead).

Haha, this actually makes people think I'm against DMC4 right? Funny. Quote from the other DMC4-thread:

Are you actually going to fight these enemies or are they just there in certain scenes and you have no contact with them? In HS you're actually fighting all these enemies.

'Sadly' DMC4 is now multiplatform.
That screenshot comparisson of HS and DMC4, makes HS look very plain and dry.

I agree.

I also don't believe the "thousands on enemies" thing. I know Dead Risising had like 200 on screen at once.

I think the last generation got nearly 100 on screen at once. Not sure. Some Sparta game tried, I know that.

It's gonna be awesome. Anyone remember how many people could go on screen in Ninety-Nine Nights

1) HS looks better on a larger scale with more going on.

2) Unless a miracle happens, DMC4 will be a better game

3) That is in no way comparable to HS. You're grappling building to building... not interacting/fighting with them, so I don't see how this "comparison" has any weight at all.
