New FFXIII Info From 1up.com

I think it would be better if they could incorporate summons in such a way to lead to the creation of clever puzzles.

"You see, you turn into a motorcycle to leap over this gap and in mid-air turn into the IFRIT mech, and fly up there, using your blast move melt an icy barrier blocking a gate. Then, you must use the hacking capabilities (after doing a backwards flip to arrive at your initial destination -- before leaping the gap) of the Bahumut summon to open the door while the game pits you against giant enemy crabs hindering your hacking performance and speed......"

That was quite intricate indeed.

I'd love to see this force them to incorporate multiple ways to approach events in the story. For example, a boss in a battle is defeated and starts to run away but you're given the option of dealing with him now or dealing with him later. If you decide to chase after him, you can use these summon vehicles or whatever to chase after him and initiate the battle. A bike battle would ensue and several minor events later into the story would change or something.

Something like that would be neat because it would give the transformations a purpose and allow the player to affect the story a bit.

If only you worked at Square-Enix. Good ideas, but SE is in the business of making RPGs that should pretty much ride on rails.

You've said so many retarded things in the past, that I truly believe you think this is a good idea.

I should have known something was wrong when I heard this was from the FFX team. But no... Lightning was actually a tolerable Nomura design. Not great, but still tolerable.

This is great. So Lightning can jump off the bike as random zippers fly off her body and her armor drops off (armor that previousl hid her face), readying her fighting position. Random guards 1, 2, 3, and 4 shoot at her with terrible aim, but she is able to run on the wall, running at the camera. She jumps up again, a perfect backflip, and lands, and with five or six shots takes out all the guards.

BUT, as she walks away, a huge "fiend" appears behind her. She smirks, and then snaps her fingers, and a great pool of flashing 4d waters circles around the cycle, turning it into Motorshiva, and she jumps on, reving the engine. The "fiend" roars and comes towards them, eyes red. Motorshiva speeds off, flipping over the monster by running up his hand and over his back, and landing behind him. Motorshiva then fires its spirit engery headlights, killing the fiend.

The powers leave motorshiva, and Lightning turns and walks away from the camera with a small strut in her step.

It's going to happen. You know it is. And I can't ****ing stand it.

I'm not sure what world you guys live in, but the FF games that I've been playing have plenty of whacked out ideas. This isn't any farther out there than any of the other weird shit. And I freaking love the series. I think this quote isn't getting the idea across exactly but I think fans of FF will embrace it, whatever it is.

Oh, cool. So I summon Shiva and she turns into a motorcycle.

...

What a stupid idea.

Amir0x: As you know Final Fantasy VII is my first RPG and in retrospect, my favorite game. I thought Advent Children sucked and I wished they never made it. FFVII's sequel could have been so much better -- untouched, unless it was for an actual game that wasn't just building on hype.

I had to sit behind a booth of a bunch of FF fanboys talking about how beautiful of a movie Advent Children was. Pity me.

Should have took one for the team, and killed them all.

I can understand the love of FFVII... I mean I like it, I'm not IN love with it, I'd even enjoy a remake (as long as it was a remake meant to be true to the spirit of the original, and not the "re-imagining" Nomura/Gackt style in Advent Children.). But the movie was so bad, so bad. Even in fanservice it could use work. It was just awful, truly.

Yeah, I'd totally want a remake as long as it's in the spirit of the original. But if they would intend to Gackt it up, I'd cut the Blu-Ray disc in half with a pair of scissors.

Personally, I would just... ignore it. :D

It sounds absurd, but who knows... it's really the fact that this game is by the FFX team that's hurting my anticipation.

And then you'll cut yourself with it while listening to the FFVII OST? :lol

You guys seem to not realize, that it's not the Transformers type motorcycle. Shiva has bike parts on her all the time, and she just positions herself.

It's also not unexpected - espers in FFXII looked very mechanical as well.

i mean look at that shit

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

i want the game to be good as much as the next person, but the absurdity level is just ratcheted to an all-time high here

If they said Espers in FFXIII were robots, that would be much better than this. Being mechanical is ok, i mean, whatever. Turning a summon into a motorcycle you ride around battle and shit, well...hey, I don't want to prematurely judge but SquareEnix is making this shit difficult!

So the new title for the thread is 'New FFXIII Info from 1up: Shiva transforms into a motorcycle, no word on the Ifrit boombox'.

Next thing you know your summons can have jobs you assign them to, be it a White Mage, a Dancer, a Pop Star, or a Motor Vehicle.

You didn't play FFXII?

Of course I did. I wouldn't be as foolish as to make a statement such as "FFX was the best FF this gen" if I didn't play them all!

My favorite part was 20 hours in when I asked myself "so is this like.. going anywhere?"

FFXII is the best FF ever, but who cares about that right now we're talking about Shiva motorbikes. That's far too hilarious to be burdened by a discussion of the comparative awesomeness of FFXII.

I was, of course, exaggerating. I wouldn't really waste $60 on a remake only to destroy it. Come on now.
