New Gran Turismo 6 trailers [Complete blowout: All cars/tracks/features/etc]

In an interview, Kaz hinted at some old tracks being DLC. So I expect Seattle may be included in those (We are also missing El Capitan, which was in the GT5 trailer!)

I just woke up and watched the trailers again to make sure I didn't dream it last night... Nope. It's real :)

And we should get more news, details and possibly videos all week. We still get to participate in the GT Award for SEMA, and i'm guessing we can expect impressions from that Willow Springs event.

El Capitan was never in any GT5 trailer, it was shown in GT PSP trailer, alongside New York circuit that is also gone since GTPSP.

Wasn't El Capitan quickly shown in that Red Bull trailer? Of course we were never supposed to see that one, which is odd since that was an amazing trailer.

Opps, yeah, you are right, I forgot that trailer (however that could happen). Yeah, it was there as well. Sorry Farrow.

Goddamn, nobody does it better. That second vid gave me 2:42 of solid goose bumps.

Seeing the two Countachs made me yelp with happiness. I wish they'd dropped the 25th Anniversary in favour of an '86 LP5000 QV though. That's the definitive Countach for me.

I hope they will add Ferrari F12 and new McLaren in DLC. And, as a big Porsche fan, I want some premium Rufs. Yellowbird and some newer models. They should better compensate that lack of Porsches.

But it's a good car list overall, I can't really complain. There are some very cool muscle cars now, old Ferraris, One-77... And FXX is a pleasant surprise :)

I watched the video last night on my Vita.. god damn I want a Vita version of Gran Turismo.. NOW:...!!!!

Its funny how they put so much effort into things that, in the end, no one will really notice.

I mean as if anyone cared that the stars have the exact same constellation as in real life. Its cool that they have such an approach, but from a business standpoint its unhealthy since they could really save a lot of money and time.

Well, here is hoping for greatness.

They have cars coming as DLC.
But I agree on the tracks though, PD has a massive wall to climb regarding tracks for PS4.

I'd like to think the latest tracks they are building are already prepared with higher resolution assets to port into PS4, but yes that's wishful thinking at this point.

It's the definitive Countach for me too! I'm curious to see what these Diablos will look like. How do I know whether they are premium cars or not?

I've just realised that the Acura NSX Concept is also featured in the latest trailer but is missing from the released car list?

I would think it's pretty safe to say that any new car additions to the series at this point are being modelled as premium vehicles.

amar has said that this isn't the final car list. The official site says that there are over 1,200 cars in the game but the list is only for 1,197.

Look at it like this: all the things that "nobody pays attention to" are what set this game apart from other racers and make them memorable to people. If they cut corners everywhere, it'd be just another racing game and would be lost in the crowd.

Polyphony is afforded an incredible luxury to be able to develop games the way they do, which stems partly from the fact that they do their games on their terms and also Sony's considerable marketing push toward the brand. GT is prominently featured in most large motorsports events around the globe.

I´m actually more hyped for GT6 than PS4 at the moment.. I have some kind of crazy GT5 hype vibe in my body..

The Red Bull trailer wasn't made by PD I thought? The clip of El Capitan (and old Chamonix, or was it Ice Arena?) were taken from the GT PSP opening I'm pretty sure.

I could be remembering things wrong, but I believe it was made by PD except it was only supposed to ever be seen by those at Red Bull. Someone posted it accidentally and quickly removed it, but not before people had already downloaded it.

Level system is gone, and it seems they didn't add any other system.

Can someone please confirm this? I will get the game as long as i have access to most the cars without having to unlock them, i just don't have the time or skill to finish challenges etc.

Apparently there's a system of progression of "stars" in the Career Mode, but I think there isn't any level restriction for the cars.

I'd love to but my G27 doesn't work with it. And no, I am not paying for a Fanatec.

Basically what we know right now is that the game will likely ship with the the old car sounds. But PD have acknowledged that the sound is a problem and Kaz has said that it's possible that they'll update the game at a later date with their new sound solution that they've been working on.

That's nice and all but when other features in their games are fundamentally broken (sound), outdated (career) or missing (many cars) then you just got to question their priorities.

The ONLY thing I wish Polyphony would improve on is the AI in GT. The AI really has not changed since GT2 to be honest. It has always seemed even though you can upgrade your car and things like that, the AI will always stay at the same level, meaning you eventually overtake what they are capable of. Even if you do not, the AI still drives along the same lines no matter what is going on in the race. No real aggressive driving from the AI, just the occassional straightaway takeover here and there.

GT AI has never posed a challenge, and that is one thing that I hate about the series. Everything else is golden, I even love the license testing, but that AI man .. needs a big time booster. I remember on endurance races and such being nearly 15 minutes in the lead. Simple 10 lap races you'll be 2 full minutes in the lead, lapping people for the 3rd time by the time your done.

But driving ... there is nothing like driving in GT. I probably spent 50 hours driving in the Shelby Cobra trying to tame that beast with no driving assists lol. What a freakin wicked ride that thing was. Even got it to pop wheelies on several occassions!

In 8 Years we've had 5 Forza Motorsports
in 16 years we've had 6 Gran Turismos

Think I'll stick with GT!

I am not loyal to either series, I am fan of just racing games in general, but I need to point out in the entire time Gran Turismo 5 took to be developed the entire Forza series up to the 3rd game was released. Spending a long time on developing a game is one thing, It's how you spend that time during the development that matters, given that it took 5 years to go from Forza 1 to Forza 3, and the same time frame for just Gran Turismo 5 to come out after the Gran Turismo 4 and not have same substantial quality jump from the first Forza game to the 3rd is very jarring.

Even if you want to consider there is 6 main GT games, unlike Forza there are side projects for example GT5 Prologue, GT5, GT5 Spec 2.0, and GT Academy which PD's attention was divided between.

While GT may have a greater overall amount of cars. There is a lot of artificial padding of livery duplicates and clones, comparatively so to Forza series minimizes this with smaller car total but better spread and fairly equal diversity between American, European, and Japanese makes.

The GT series has always been heavily skewed towards JDM because the developer location and influence involved.

Personally I think it would be better off if PD simply cutting out the nonsense and focused making GT5 a whole complete experience in a single game without sidetracking and extraneous fluff. At times it seems like they are spreading themselves too thin.

That is why I think GT6 will be better well received because PD's attention is fully focused in making GT6 a complete package based on the information deluge released on GTPlanet and Gran-Turismo.com.

I look forward to and greatly anticipate December 6th with each passing day.

I'm so fucking happy to no longer be the *only* person on the entire internet whining about the GT sound nowadays, this makes me very relieved. I'm not even a huge car enthusiast but once you've played a couple of games with decent sound, GT's samples, bass, variety is just ... it's just terrrrrrrrrrible at least for a "premium" car game.
Forza is still the new kid on the block, yet they got car sound right ages back, you'd expect something subtle like car sound would be something GT would actually do better, because it's been around for years and sells a lot.

From what I can see and track - from GTP to GAF to my small community - they responded to almost each and every they could and that were reasonable IMO
...

There is no single area they haven't cover or upgraded or announced they will upgrade. Also, the sheer amount of details presented today is astonishing, all those that have prior knowledge about GT series can read so much out of data they've presented today.

I see them listening when they put standing starts back into the single player mode. I still can't get over the fact how ridiculous it is to have a racing simulation that has only rolling starts. It's insane, really. Like every racing series on earth had rolling starts and it was perfectly normal.

I don't remember the quote, but didn't Kaz say they had a new sound engine in the making and are simply going to try to get it into GT6 afterwards? You make it sound like he promised and confirmed it.

Standing starts are horrible. Its easy to cheat the AI like this and get first place before first corner as they are very passive.

Other games can manage them well, I don't see why PD has a problem.

The easiest way to 'solve' the Turn 1 issue is to have the AI make use of the full width of the track in that one instance (as the recent F1 games do), then you can't just banzai it down the inside as usual.

That's what I was triyng to say. He mentioned that they may patch it in at a later date and if not then it'll be reserved for GT7. I guess would could find out some more details on it as well as the campaign some time this week once the people that attended yesterdays event start talking about what they saw and what Kaz told them about it.

The best thing about high profile threads like this is the easily identifiable trolls and the improvement of the GAF experience via the ignore list.

GT6 looks good. I really enjoyed GT Acadmey, so I'm looking forward to this. Can't wait to see how they have tooled the career. Hoping for some major improvements.

Have a quick question for EU people. If I buy this game day one from a store, do I not get the Torque Pack and Precision Pack Bonus pre-order items? Do you have to specifically pre-order to get these bonuses?

This has been pointed out at GTplanet several times already, but we're getting upgraded karts for GT6

You can see the driver reach for the shifter.

Damn, this looks incredible. Seems to fix all the issues I had with GT5. Loved the handling in academy, especially the new suspension, hopefully this will be the definitive GT experience.
