Get ready guys.

Im quite surprised at Autumn Ring getting weather/time change. I figured a track like Grand Valley would get that treatment first.

small detail, but going by the trailer, we can now have daytime running lights.

There's some chatter on GT Planet that Jordan will be playing the full version of GT6 today...not sure how creditable this is though.

It's true, he posted some pictures in the news thread. Sony/PD is holding some sort of GT event at Willow Springs today.

YESSSSSSSssss finally!

Interesting to see which livery the base model gets, whether it's the red with yellow GTR emblazoned concept or a plain colour.

I was tired of the longtail making the cut in games only for devs to completely forget about the LeMans winning year and all the history of the short tail GTR.

this is why gran turismo is king. you know your franchise is amazing when the car manufacturers themselves are putting their own designed concept cars in your game.

So all of the new tracks, even fictitious, have 24h time change. Seems to be a new standard and something we should expect for most if not all future tracks. Droooool.

Yeah, the lack of city courses with it likely just comes down to them already being the most taxing tracks in the game. So 24h on top of that would likely kill your PS3.

Sony/PD is holding some sort of GT event at Willow Springs today.

It is a special invite-only press-event for promoting GPS Visualizer technology with Toyota aimed at automotive and tech press mostly.

Also, why nobody posted these yet? Notice: official press site is not yet updated with fullHD images, these will do until then:

Okay, I compiled all of the premium cars based on the list. I may have missed some.

Yeah, the lack of city courses with it likely just comes down to them already being the most taxing tracks in the game. So 24h on top of that would likely kill your PS3.

We did see Seattle Circuit sporting the new lighting engine during daytime. I wonder if it'll be one of the DLC tracks, and if so, maybe they'll just have a preset time of day.

Trailers look amazing, as always. The GT Academy was great, new tracks look interesting... yes, I'm trying to preface my one complaint that I've had since forever with platitudes:

That car list had better fill out in the next month. It's not just Porsche, as any car geek will tell you. Ariel, Koenigsegg, the list goes on. Then there are gaping holes in manufacturers that are featured, Ferrari F12, La Ferrari, Mclaren P1, any street legal Zonda, Veyron SS, any special edition Lambo(Sesto Elemento, their own track cars, Veneno). This is just at a glance mind you, I'm not doing research, compiling a list. That's why I only mention the high end production cars.

I would have thought that by now their database would catch up to the others, but hey, maybe the next one right? An unprecedented roster, boasting car models from 3 generations of hardware(or is it 4 with some PS vita stuff that made it into GT4?! How about 5? go back to the OG) having all the granularity you could ever wish for, when it comes to Toyota anyway, down to both the CD and tape deck options on the 1993 Celica. But what's this? You're clamoring for some of the cars you see at autoshows, in magazines and on Top Gear? How about a drifting course with Tiff Neddel instead or a shopping cart race against Johnny Knoxville at the new Mall of America test track.

Okay, I compiled all of the premium cars based on the list. I may have missed some.

Total: 393

List itself misses some vehicles that have been officially announced by PD's partners, like Mercedes-benz for example. I would expect more updates on that list as the release closes and new trailers and site-content are prepared. Good list so far though.

Who is doing the OT?

Norante was up to the task, but I am really scared about the general overview job for him or anyone.

It would be best to make OT and link everyone to the official-pages because there is no chance in hell anyone will be able to tackle all details, especially once the full features of online and such get revealed.

All this eye candy, improved physics, better UI, yada yada ain't gonna mean shit if they don't fix one of GT5's MAJOR flaws- the clutch model. The constant missed shifts because of the crummy clutch/shifter implementation in GT5 just about ruined it for me.

Yeah, I noticed that while making the list. I assume they'll just be DLC, it'll be nice if they end up on the disc though. Another thing I also noticed was the "Ford GT '05" being listed as new... Kaz gonna Kaz (unless it's a mistake).

there's no more premium and standard. the standards from gt5 were revamped. not as detailed as the premium, but they are much closer to being a premium than being a gt5 standard.

They are not ;) But you can now buy them in the Paint Shop (or whatever it is called) under unknown preconditions.
You'll still have to collect different colors, but they're not single-use chips anymore. Once you have a color, it's yours. It now costs 5,000 credits to use that color, not the color chip itself.

I would be more than willing to assist. I will have some spare time next weekend. We should also get a GT6 NRL (NeoGAF Racing League for the uninitiated) OT up to launch side by side with the GT6 OT.

I know that Gold, I am just playing semantics game with you. Colour chips are in the game.

I know that, but just saying "premium" is better than "high quality car models with fully detailed interiors". I don't really think the standard cars from GT5 will look much better anyway.

So it looks incredible, but how does it SOUND? The fact that every car sounded like a dyson killed gt5 for me

+1.. but I feel like its the one thing we all have to give up on. For some reason, whoever samples the sounds/creates the sound engine, is deaf. The sound in GT has been god horrible since day 1.

I have HOPE, in that bathurst trailer, the sounds, sounded digitized. Like re-created with a computer, not just the usual dub over the trailer with sounds PD knows full well players will never hear. COULD be compression, but someone should give a lsiten through proper headphones to hear the digital repeating "pattern" of the engine sounds.

I hate the sound in GT. Sort of like I'd hate a super model with a mole... The sounds blow, but the rest of the game stands up so well. I wish PD would just scrap whatever it is they are doing with the sound, it literally never works, and just steal what Need For SPeed or something does. All in all, we don't need the PD level of detail with the sound, as its not working. Our ears are clearly different from PD... just some muddy heavy handed sound capturing would work.

Rfactor did it, GTR did it, GPL did it, Live For Speed does it, a lot of games out there can do it. It doesn't need to be accurate to the square root depression of the gas, and the cylinder hitting, blah blah, just make it sound good.

For once, I'd enjoy blasting GT thruogh surround sound without just turning up the bass to drown out the sad, sad, sad, tin sound.

it sounds like a high pitched aluminum balloon deflating, and sped up. Every game. Half of the appeal of these exotics/big blocks/turbo upgrades, etc are the fucking sound. Its so close to perfection, just fix the sound.

Just soaking all this in, there is very little to legitimately complain about.

I mean, Porsche (out of PD's hands), livery editor, event creator, 4k poly trees (HW limited) and sounds (acknowledged). Those are not small items, but basically just about every single other complaint has been addressed.

With a steady stream of DLC, online updates, new features (as detailed), and community events GT6 will last a very very very long time. Certainly long enough until GT7 is unleashed upon the world.

You'll still have to collect different colors, but they're not single-use chips anymore. Once you have a color, it's yours. It now costs 5,000 credits to use that color, not the color chip itself.

That's the way it should have worked from the start. Gonna paint all my cars with that Lotus Lime Green.

Holy crap I want this.

Grinding is still in the game, right? To me it's a plus. I like working up to better cars, maybe just because of tradition.

I feel so bad. I probably put more hours into GT5 than any other game on PS3..........but with PS4, I'm putting the PS3 away. But it depends. If for some reason I just can't get my hands on a PS4 before this game releases, I will buy it.....but once I go next gen, I'm not looking back.

Game looks great though and I loved how the cars felt playing the GT Academy this summer.

What is this I'm hearing about GPS tracking and track creation ?

This feature, available at a later stage through an update, will allow you to create your own custom tracks that can be driven in the game. Additionally, in another update we will add the possibility to generate a track by capturing the GPS coordinate data of a mobile app while you are driving that course. This GPS-generated tracks will be available in the game as playable content.
