picked up the Pixel XL earlier this year. Good to know I got the good one.
The one major change is that the device will reportedly feature stereo speakers at the expense of a 3.5mm headphone jack.
You are insane. The S8 feels great in the hand. Best feeling phone I've held. Skipping it because of samsung software though. Not worth it.
Lolno, thank you.The one major change is that the device will reportedly feature stereo speakers at the expense of a 3.5mm headphone jack
GAF is the only community I've experienced on the internet where the news of no headphone jack is seemingly a sign of the end times. What an overreaction.
Reminds me of Bendgate, which was also meant to be the end of Apple, at least according to GAF. Yeah...
Ya and also this. wtf, let it go guys. Everyone is moving towards less ports on phone. Headphone jack going away you like it or not.

Nah bruh, YOU pay the ever rising cost of these phones and lose out on high quality audio ports for "reasons" while I pay the same price and retain the benefit along with everything else you get as well.
I'm good over here.
Love my Nexus 6P.
More reports on lack of headphone jack =/

Yeah I'm going Samsung if Google fucks this up. They have to be massive morons to chase Apple and expect the same success, but here we are.I seriously hope this isn't true, I'm overdue getting myself a new phone and wanted the Pixel 2 to be it >_<
It'll be a Note 8 for me if this is true.
This is not mid-range phone so we can ignore some missing features . This is a premium smartphone who share the same price with Samsung and Apple flagships so you cant expect somthing less.Maybe they are going to try keep the cost low? Doesn't really seem like they wanted to go pound for pound with Samsung.
If the headphone jack is removed and stays removed for the Pixel 3 and 4, looks like I'm unfortunately going to have to buy an iPhone. First world problems.
Ah yes, many will flock to the iPhone for its inclusion of a headphone jack.

For me, as someone who has only ever owned Nexus phones (smartphones) and won't stand for TouchWiz or any of that bullshit we are at a point now where the vanilla Android phone is the same price as the iPhone, neither will have a headphone jack and the Pixel isn't going to be waterproof.
I'm considering switching having hung onto my Nexus 6P, it's not like apps are enough to keep me in one place, it's nice to try other things.
Ha ha, I get how that sounds. Last year, I was very close to buying the iPhone 7S because of the camera, but losing the headphone jack was a deal breaker or selling point for the Pixel for me. I prefer Android, but only a pure Android/Google experience. I hate Samsung and the crap software they add to their phones. If the rumor is true, I'll have to eat shit and get a fucking piece of shit dongle and an iPhone when the Pixel Xl is no longer supported. At least I'll have longer support with the iPhone and less security concerns, although I feel iOS is so antiquated and restrictive. Ugh.
Same.So then this would be a downgrade for my Nexus 5X then if the no headphone jack really is true. At least I can probably get the original pixel when it drops in price.
Might as well buy an iPhone.More reports on lack of headphone jack =/

Not sure if people are being intentionally dense. It says no headphone jack, not that it won't be possible to use headphones.
Let me guess, everyone plugs their phone into an ethernet port to get internet

Bluetooth? I don't want to listen to music wirelessly. Why spend more money to buy new headphones just because of a phone? Y'all must be rich or something. CD players died a long time ago, that's a false equivalence and you know it.So get new headphones? Welcome to the future, before long samsung will be on board too. There is a perfectly reasonable alternative to headphones that moving towards allows manufacturers to drastically improve other aspects of the phone. Headphone jacks are dead, like cd players and other obsolete technologies. The only question is how you come to terms with it
You can even just get an adapter to continue using your wired headphone via Bluetooth

Wait, how do you defend the lack of a headphone jack? How do you listen to audio on your phone, then?
