Won't be able to afford either, but I'm interested to see what they look like.
The competition is weak enough for Sony to sit at $399 for another 16-18 months.
The first digit didn't change from the Super Slim, so no.Yeesh, another PS3 model?
plus his previous form was ugly as hellwell...the PS3 is using the Cell engine...and we know Cell went through several versions until it reached...Perfection.

Yeah, I don't see any possibility of price cuts to the PS4. With Sony's financial position being as it is, they will take the margin this holiday and cut to $299 next year if necessary. Right now Sony need to look at their bottom line, if they have a way to increase margins on a popular product then the prudent course would be to reap the gain rather than pass the savings on, at least immediately. And PS2 backwards compatibility?PS3: Throwback Edition
"Now with the original PS3 Phat casing, non-rumble controllers and no trophies!"
And PS2 backwards compatibility?
They want to save money.
This is a recipe for disaster, if Sony wants to maintain their lead in the US then they will need to keep making moves to stay ahead.

So just hope for the best, a smaller, cheaper, good looking PS3
$399 camera bundle, $350 base model.
Maximum laughs to happen.

Perfect post
I hope the PS3 gets the flip lid like the PS2 slim.
PSThree
PS4 model should be just an internal revision with optimized design to cut costs and better position them to make discounted bundles later this year. A full PS4 shrink is going to happen when the APU goes to 22/20nm and 8Gbit GDDR5 chips become available, that's also when I expect a 299$ price, in mid-late 2015.
PS3 revision instead might pretty well be a full revision with shrinked chips (Cell and RSX) and a new form factor. PS3 really needs a 150$ entry price considering the current level of sales. A new model with 32GB or 64GB of flash memory and a 150$ price might be the right move to lift sales.
Isn't the PS4 APU already 28nm?
Yes it is.
I do not see the point of a new PS3 model, only reason is cost reduction.

Exactly! That's is why they're doing it.I do not see the point of a new PS3 model, only reason is cost reduction.

So going to 22/20nm isn't going to make a huge difference, right?
