Still don't like this style, but that shot of him on the horse looking back is nice. Don't know what kind of in-game situation it's meant to represent if any.
The horse combat should be pretty good actually... I guess I'm looking foreward to it regardless of how it looks.

From a technical perspective it doesn't look OUT OF THIS WORLD good. The lighting looks cool, and depth perspective blur is cool. I think what impresses me more is just the art direction. Link looks freaking awesome!

Just to clarify, I'm not really bitching about the visuals in Zelda (game looks great, there is room for improvement and I firmly believe the game will look significantly better than those screens when it's released, on GC or Revolution, you can quote me on that), I'm just having a horrible case of insomnia today and just messing around.

you people are crazy. ocarina of time is six years old. there have been dozens of games that exceed it in every conceivable way. even if ocarina still occupied some throne -- it doesn't -- this wouldn't be the game to unseat it. we don't know much, but we know enough: the trailer tells us it has mediocre graphics, uses the same old combat system, and wants desperately to remind you of ocarina and better days for nintendo. realda will at best be a nostalgic gloss on ocarina of time. best game ever potential? no way, guys. no way.

but at any rate, i'm not militating against nintendo or zelda, i'm militating against your blinkered gaming worldviews. where the next big nintendo game is by default the best game ever, where nintendo creates more original ip than any other developer, etc. consider it a public service. or a sick jihad. really whichever.

I don't understand why people have these crusades against fans. I rarely see Nintendo fans invading threads to point out something that's wrong or needs to be changed or is unappealing to the eye, it's usually the other way around. Well, to be fair, plenty of developers have already demonstrated extremely impressive texturing and modeling that goes well beyond what this new Zelda has shown. Metroid Prime, Rogue Squadron 3 and Star Fox Adventures, for example, blow this away technically (well, based on the shots and trailer...things may change).
The game still looks great, though.
