This was their third party games event!! And tbh it was underwhelming. I know there's other events where they'll show off better games but, it sets a bad precedent when almost all the games they showed look current gen.

Where were the big thrid parties? All these were indies and ubisoft. Where was capcom ,square , Activision etc..?

That what was most disappointing.

To be honest this whole inside Xbox looked like a game pass reveal (some AA and AA+ games and single AAA title), not feeling pumped after this
 
With the Xbox sex next big event planned for July does this mean that MS is leaving June to Sony or will June be focused on big 3rd parties (as a e3 replacement)?

But how this specific dev can already have an opinion without spent some time with the PS5 dev kit?

exactly. they pushed this as a 'global partner' event. i thought we were gonna see re8, ac valhalla, watch dogs, beyond good and evil, and maybe even cod. this felt like an indie partner event.

i knew we were in trouble when they started off with that game made by one person.

That was not a screenshot for a game, people assumed it was. It was screenshots of him talking to contacts at studios and he later clarified that, in this very thread.

You guys keep circling back and probing this trying to find a "gotcha", and I am going to lose my patience on it.

So during the first few years PS4 got shat on for excessive use of Chromatic aberration.

Instead of a great game frrom the 90s, we get this drivel. Copied Assets from the store, copy-cat (shadow warrior look?) with some nice wind effects and a repetitive enemy design and lots of motion blur use + CA.

The other games were much better, had more substance. I wish we could go back to a time where only pros. made games. The indies scene was a nice "idea", but WE got way too many on board that can´t make a good game, make it run good, look good or just in general have no expertise at all.

This is what i would consider to be "Steam Shovelware", part of the 90% that make up Steam´s catalogue.

That does not hava anything to say/mean. That´s an excuse to use in their defense "but listen, it´s made by 1 guy!" Yeah.. one person who copied 99% of the game by using premade assets. It´s actually more of a "holy fuck, if 1 person can do that ... why arent we all making games?!" aka flood the market.

Just because its made by one, he or she is no exempt of any criticism. Nothing remarkable at all, if you copy over someone´s assets. What if the gameplay is based on a "file, assets" as well ... what if that game is 100% made with store assets?

You and i have seen much better 1 man games, or 2man made games like Axiom among many others.

Haha posting this actually motivated me to cancel all unneccesary subscriptions/patreons/twitchsubs. Going to save 105€ each month.

I've decided to buy a crucial mx500 1TB or a Samsung one with the same size got each one of those in my pc. Just depends which one is availale and cheaper. ~110-130€
However im still undecided which thermalpaste im going ti use, gonna figure this out tomorrow.

Right, how convenient of your friend  after this trash presentation, especially and after most devs during the previous dev poll/survey and hands on are saying psv is more exciting and better console lol.

It is incredible that such an average impression on the devkits (nothing hyperbolic) can cause such fuss. So, the SX is more powerful. Hot news! Previously he stated that were pretty much on par but the SX was 15% faster. Well, that sounds like a more powerful machine here. Nothing contradictory.

Besides devs are developing, not measuring power between kits in different teams.
 
They couldn't even stream the event in 1080p 60fps. A multi-billion dollar corporation! What a disaster! I'm a Sony fan that's been really impressed with the XSX hardware but the games so far are meh at best. I think the PS5 is going to have a significant advantage in terms of games with what we've seen so far. I'm honestly not convinced with how many SKUs they have and will be developing games for.

In previous generations there would be some games cross gen, sports, a few AA. And then a bunch of AAA exclusives. But this whole new thing of developing almost all games for cross generations will have some disadvantages.

Eh… no. Since the PS3 era we don't have those anymore. For the PS4 they were a lot of upscaled games. For the PS5, where it already takes millions in production values to max out the last gen hardware it's going to be the same. You can't really have way better assets than in a Resident Evil game. We are in CG territory already. And the common gamer is finding harder and harder to distinguish what better graphics are anymore.

Don't get me wrong, that was a lot of low tier games but anyone expecting third parties AAA letting behind the PS4 is delusional. And Microsoft said that they'll make cross gen games for at least a year. So, if there is a grasp, a hair, no… a hair cut alongside, between Uncharted 4 and a CG movie, the only games that are going to show this little piece of the puzzle will be the Sony's exclusives.

If I have to guess where those guys are going to show their new games I would say in their own show or in the show of the market leader of current and (most likely)future gen consoles. Everything signs into ps5 being a big success with all the momentum coming from the powerhouse that is PS4.
 
I'd rather stay with this gen until it's time:




I would play it in native Japanese/Mongol language with English subtitles, hope that's available.

What a terrible showing, let's hope July showing will be better. I have no idea what MS was thinking, this is how they want to show first gameplay on the XSX? I mean, I get it, it's like an E3 pre-show, to get the small fries out of the way but common, this is your big reveal? This stream should have been something they show 48 hours before the July stream.
 
Xbone 1.3 TFLOPS machine is hindering NEXT-GEN. MSFT should completely cut it off and use Xbone X 6 TFLOPS as its base for game development.

The only explanation I can possibly come up with is Microsoft don't want to show their hand before Sony?

I'd hope neither were so concerned about the other but who knows after today.

Just my opinion, but if someone's saying Godfall looks awful, I think they're kidding themselves. Bottom line, on internet videos the differences between this and next gen aren't probably going to be super apparent. We have 4k today. Difference is there will be more effects, faster loading and still 4k @60FPS. It's not like we're going from non-HD to HD again.
 
Just watched the X Box show. Came straight here, glad I wasn't the only one under whelmed. It all looked like weaker current gen games, with the exception of Assassins Creed. Even then it didn't feel like gameplay reveal at all. Maybe it's also the lack of known franchises that killed the excitement/hype... Perhaps Playstation 5's reveal will be similar, and if so it will be a very under whelming iterative generation.
 
What is shown today is just a set of games adapted but that certainly do not take advantage of the potential of the console. Be patient. We will have to wait to see what they teach in the following InsideXbox. And above all we will have to wait to see dates and launch catalog.

Microsoft is doing well in providing information.

Although I think that at this rate it will end up taking its toll. Since, by the time all the PS5 information is released, Microsoft will no longer have much to say about XSX. The last few months before departure there will be constant talk of PS5. I think that is the strategy that Sony will follow.
