Red Dead Redemption 238 seconds2 minutes, 8 seconds

Being more accurate.

One X is 2 minutes 12 seconds.
How the fuck did the other people mess those numbers up?
38 seconds isn't too bad (assuming its legit).

gamespot posted a video. its 38 seconds from when you select story mode. you can also load directly into the game which is what the other number likely is.

see above. 38 seconds is from when they select story mode. it doesnt include the cold boot timings.

I'm going with 52s because Tom Warren is an extreme Xbox fanboy and thus would be more likely to portray the numbers in the best possible light. If he says its 52s it probably is. Now if people are legitimately getting different results, that already puts in doubt these claims of sustained performance.

Like I said, reality always hits for Xbox. All hype no substance.

It’s going to get very ugly when see how much more faster the PS5 SSD is. Boot up, dashboard, games. Everything.

And lol at SX not being full backwards compatible yet. And people give Sony crap for this. Where’s the concern and outrage? Watch PS5 have more BC ready games.

Oh.....still no next gen games running on SX!

Just to play devil's advocate, Series X has shown UI, quick resume and SSD speeds for BC titles along with BC titles benefiting higher frame rates and resolution. Credit where credits due and Xbox seem to be doing a better job in that area. Sony on the other hand well they haven't shown any of it. Perhaps Sony's top priority isn't those areas I guess at least for now?

I assume you will all rage when Ghosts of Tsushima doesn't boot in under 3 seconds?

It’ll come in due time. What they have shown so far is the most important reason people by a console for. Games.

There's the whole "It isn't optimized for SSD!" but it's not optimized for SSD on the One X either so that argument falls flat.
It doesn't make much sense.
I want to see GTAV load times, takes 12 hours on PS4 :messenger_grinning_sweat:

But how much faster? Obviously the PS5 will be faster, it has a faster SSD... But since you are saying that this is laughable and the PS5 will be much much faster, let's put a number on it. On average, how much faster will it load BC games compared to Xbox.

Remember during Cerny's talk when he showed that 5-step diagram?
  1. Decompression
  2. Coherency
  3. Mapping
  4. File I/O
  5. Check-in & load management
We know for sure that the PS5 has custom silicon designed to address all 5 of those steps. However, it looks like the XSX does not. The XSX has its own decompression chip and SFS seems to be Microsoft's solution for coherency. However, we've heard nothing about how the XSX will address steps 3-5.

Well, that shows some GREAT improvements for people! Good to see! It also makes me grateful that I haven't tried to play RDR2 yet! Damn!... That's some LONG loading times!

That being said, how long do you think before No Man's Sky gets an update to support next gen? The loading times there could really use some help!

I think the posts are still there for everyone to judge for themselves.

You guys know me i am not a very technical person, God made me beautiful, not smart, so most of this analysis stuff is lost on me,

all i do know is some of the replies he got were pretty disgusting.

Luckily the ban is only 2 weeks long, he is already chopping wood and lifting camels to the rocky theme track, he is getting ready for his return.

Plus the ban comes at a good time, he not seen his wife or kids for 3 months cos of neogaf. :messenger_grinning:

What I find weird is that the footage is indeed not 1440p final resolution so to claim it is 1440p render resolution you need to have some retro-reconstruction in place but DF never even hinted a something like that.
That makes their claim suspicious.

Could be right but I am inclined it was both. I took it as a one two punch as his thread was centered around saying they are lying in order to "protect" Microsoft then combined with that tweet that made the rounds and a thread being started with a spin of the context by another poster.
