Had to check if they do the same here

Here at Finland they still sell 12 month gold cards on physical stores, but it could be old inventory

Microsoft site sells only

6.99€/month
19.99€/3 months

So it is 83,88€ or ~80€/year

Ps+ is usually 59-69€/year and on sale 35-50€ sometimes.

Gamepass with gold is 12.99€/month = 155€/year

IMO that is fucking expensive in the long run compared to just ps+ and buying games from sale/used. Nobody haves the time to play all games in gamepass/psnow anyway so you pay for something you dont use. Like people whom pay 40€/month for unlimited phone calls+txt+internet and not use it much at all, while pay by minute with unlimited internet would cost the half or less
Depends on how many games you buy in a year, and if you had the PS5DE or the PS5. Game Pass is a lot of value, even at the full price.
Game Pass Ultimate - 180 EUR per year
* Game Pass
* Gold
* xCloud

If you know that all their first party studio games come to it on day one, and from 2022 they'll probably release 3-4 games a year. That's great value. On top of that you then have those 3rd party games and indie games.

"I have embargo and all I can say is something that fucks Sony."

Yes, it has a clear embargo with MS (but it seems that with Sony not).

"...It will refrain from making statements or comments to third parties of a defamatory nature or that may discredit or discredit the company or its employees, administrators or products, both during and after the end of the contract."

DF appears to have signed this clause as well.

I personally recommend that you keep it well ventilated as indicated in the manual. But this, by common sense, is applicable to all electronic devices. That is not to say that XSX has problems, it simply means that its cooling system does its job well by expelling all the heat it generates internally out. In this case, PS5 generates less heat and distributes it more. But the important thing is that neither of them dies. Obviously there will always be people who destroy their consoles by introducing them into poorly ventilated spaces (although XSX would die earlier in the same circumstances), or people who destroy their controls with their nails in two days of use to justify that a product may be defective or of poor quality. , but I think we are all smart enough and have the least common sense to know when they are trolling you and when not.

Now it makes sense. Looking forward when NDAs are out the window. Release the kraken!🐙

Where does this knowledge come from? Has there been any serious comparison between the heat generated by the two machines?
I'd expect a higher clocked gpu to be hotter, not less

How many watts does each console use ? Watts are listed on specs, we can deduce watts used as a % of power supply)

Electrical power is dissapated as heat

The temperature of the console / air coming out depends on volume of air flow and size of box, and heat transfer efficiency.

We dont know Ps5 specs yet, one or 2 fans, but it certainly is a bigger box wind tunnel so you cannot compare yet.

Dont know what frequency has to do with this, thats getting into process vs power curve and will also depend on depend on process steps chosen at TSMC fab for each device. AMD leaked PC parts going to 2.5 Ghz, and some at 1.9 Ghz is worth noting, we can speculate why but thats a different topic.

PS5 has a 350 W power supply, while Xbox Series X has a 315 W power supply.

Not sure if that's what you mean by how many watts does each console use, or if you mean how many they draw when used.

We know the PS4 Pro has a 310 W power supply, while the Xbox One X had a 245 W power supply. And the PS4 Pro drew more watts from the wall during typical gameplay, I think.

I'd assume the PS5 will draw more watts than the Xbox, just guessing.

Depends how hot they want the power supply to run and what efficiency, so until we are told the PSU rating is only an indication.

Wait, what about regular headphones plugged into an amplifier?

You mean like Astro A40 + mixer I have? You use the 3.5 jack into the DualSense. The controller itself has Bluetooth 5.1, so it can even support most premium signal, LDAC. But true 3D Audio doesn't need fake 7.1/5.1 channel, only basic 2.0 channel stereo. I'll try my A40 as well to see how it works give feedback, but already about the Pulse 3D because it's cheap and will 100% have better bass than A40 flat-ass bass.

Personally I’m running Sennheiser rs180’s plugged into tv aux.

Actually in testing the PS4 Pro used ~150-175W and the One X 175-200W at the wall. Sony have always given their consoles a higher rated PSU for some reason.

Having said that the PS5 uses this different concept for electrical power that might change things. If I was to bet I would say with PS5's +400MHz on the GPU it will probably top XSX when pushed.

I'm using headphones with 5 meter wire into the tv aux for Netflix (natively in the tv) and for PC usage. You can plug it in your DualSense and it'll be even more convenient ;)
Will that work? My sennheisers don't produce much volume from the PS4 controller plugged in

Yup, I use Astro A40 + Mixer, but through TV it can simply make your brain explode! Volume is pretty low through PS4 controller or even USB in general. Hope this is not an issue with Pulse 3D or any headset plugged into the controller or via Bluetooth.

Yeah I've seen mixed results. Some say the PS4 Pro would draw around 150-175 W max in gaming, while others say the One X draws around 150-175 W max in gaming. Lots of differing results. Overall seems like the consoles draw similar amounts, but the PS4 Pro is a less powerful console with a larger PSU. So its less efficient somewhat.

I bet the PS5 will end up drawing more power because its larger box, has a larger PSU, and runs at essentially fixed power. So I imagine the Xbox power draw will spike and drop, while the PS5 will be constantly drawing as much power as it can.

Nope, Xbox just recently eliminated the 1 year buy option for $60.

Now its $10 per month for Xbox Live Gold, so $120/year. Same as Game Pass.

They want to make Game Pass Ultimate look good for $180/year.

Edit - checked, and they do still offer the $25 for 3 month option, so can be had for $100/year.

And we are 100% sure they didn't just reframe the one year option as a retail partner exclusive? :messenger_tears_of_joy:

They can invalidate the digital codes that they distribute and reissue in appropriate values (just like Sony did when they terminated all digital codes). How many months do you think these 1yr codes will hold up? Still not one retailer that has run out yet.
