That's a heat sink. If they need all that and a radial blower, it's easy to see how the early dev kit design couldn't ever keep up. I think they went all out for thermals and silence, a great thing for PS5 buyers.
The rs180’s are 0 latency wireless. The base station is plugged into aux. Had them for what must be a decade now. High quality sound never goes out of date.I'm using headphones with 5 meter wire into the tv aux for Netflix (natively in the tv) and for PC usage. You can plug it in your DualSense and it'll be even more convenient

-Fan large and built different
Thanks, I knew it had a different name. They are using a fan, would be classified more as a radial blower.
IT'S HERE!!!!
Looks like it'll fit 2280 form factorDidn't show much of the SSD expansion slot; looks like it's a pretty decent size though?
Cerny mentioned some SSDs might not fit but it looks fairly standard.
How is he ignoring it? We have all known this for months, what's the point of beating a dead horse?
very T H I C C boiThat Console does look big. Man it's a mind fuck when you see it at the Japan preview and then this.
Well thats fucking great.....i was simply pointing out its not liquid cooling and im reply banned from the thread
Its Thermal Paste...abit a higher grade compared to the standard clag that went on the ps4 pros
The PS5 heatsink is fucking huge.
Cool to have removable plates, interesting that the M.2 bay is literally internal and hidden under the plate.
So fucking cool to see the teardown finally!
Anyone else think the die looks bigger than expected.
I think it was because you made the assumption that it will sound like a jet engine.Well thats fucking great.....i was simply pointing out its not liquid cooling and im reply banned from the thread

Impossible without a die shot, and even that would require comparisons to known dies, like the XSX SOC.So no stacked RAM. But the cooling system looks pretty impressive - isn't that very expensive, that much metal?
Can someone deduce from the teardown how much cache the PS5 will have?
Similar process to thisThat’s because it is liquid metal cooling, not thermal paste. He literally shows it, and yet you still try to claim it is something otherwise. That’s probably the reason for the ban.

Yet is is okay to run wild with the Series X overheating BS. I guess let them have a day or two over there. They have been taking a beating lately.Well thats fucking great.....i was simply pointing out its not liquid cooling and im reply banned from the thread

This is the dumb shit people were moaning about....what a bunch of knobs. It's a computer....whoopty fucking do. I thought these teardowns were supposed to reveal something interesting, but it's just taking about a computer. You can do that in your house. The packaging is different, but the components are the same. I took apart an 8086 when I was 10 years old, and a Sinclair when I was 6. This was not worth the noise that some people were making. I almost want to go back through this thread to find all the wankers that were complaining about not getting this video, just so I can put them on ignore. You are horrible and miserable people. This is a big, fat nothingburger.

Asus Will Use Liquid Metal Thermal Paste in Its Laptops - ExtremeTech
Asus will adopt liquid metal thermal paste on its Intel 10th Gen laptops, to improve cooling temperatures -- and help handle the heat.www.extremetech.com
The application method is different but the term i was trying to articulate before the SDF mashed the report buttons was that the heatsink was not a liquid cooling based method meaning the heat will not dissipate as fast
the cooling fan is also very similar to the pro except the physical size and intake areas were much larger...but it also means more dust which leads to the same problems as the pro

I'm only getting a PS5. Never owned an Xbox. Owned every PS ever made, save for the Vita. This was not worth people crying and spreading FUD. This is what I see once or twice a year, when I take my laptop apart to swap drives or clean the vents. This teaches us nothing useful. Meanwhile, Sony has shown a number of next-gen games, which is about the only thing we can actually engage with, and manipulate. I'm literally dumbfounded by how high a priority some posters in this thread made this video. This ranks somewhere down near backwards compatibility on my list of important next-gen information. I learned how computers were put together when I was a child. This shouldn't be revelatory for anyone old enough to post on the internet.Jesus Christ. I know you're an Xbox fan, but come on dude. It's an impressive piece of kit internally. It's perfectly okay to acknowledge that something that you're not necessarily a fan of is quite good. Go on. Give it a shot. It won't kill you, and might actually make you feel better
Well, the tear down is out. I guess it’s the end of the thread. Had a lot of fun guys
Have you noticed the ease with which the casings are removed to be able to extract the accumulated dust in the respective compartments without causing the loss of the guarantee?
Thus opening the doors to custom cases...?
