Devil May Cry 5 SE Load times:
PS5 vs PC SSD

It's actually 2 seconds, but the player didn't press X after loading completion.

Dirt running on xbox series x maybe old?

Well, well. It looks good to be honest. Here's what they said about the performance:

Dirt 5 has two enhancement options on the Xbox Series X. What you see in the video above is Image Quality mode, which prioritizes visuals and appears to be able to hit 60 FPS most of the time. However, there were some frame drops when dirt, snow, and other particle effects kicked up on screen. Frame Rate mode, of course, brings down visual quality to hit higher FPS more consistently--Dirt 5 is also one of the games that takes advantage of next-gen's 120FPS capabilities.

I'm really interested to see what is Treyarch going to do to reach 4K/120fps in COD.

EDIT: According to Jeff Grubb, there are 3 modes: Image Quality, Frame Rate and 120Hz Mode. 1080p/120fps confirmed by his video, damn, how is COD going to reach 4K/120!

you don’t get the Point don’t you? It’s expected tha HOT AIR gets blown out. Why should COOL air get blown out? This doesn’t make any sense. So blowing out HOT air is great!
Also, exactly because they had RROD, they would NOT do this again. Why would they make the same mistake twice? Again, what you are saying here doesn’t make sense.
Relax, you're not telling me anything new.
Nobody is talking about the air coming hot, that obviously a good thing. We're talking about the plastic itself being very hot to touch. And that is NOT a good indicator.

I don’t understand. If both preorders sell out, shouldn’t they be roughly equal based on how many they can produce? Don’t differences usually start to show once the early adopters have there’s and you can find them in stores?
Artificially limited supply

I don't think that is a issue to be concerned about. PS5 would have been hot or warm too if it were not for those side panels.

I'm not concerned since I'm not planning to buy an XBox. Just commenting in general by seeing the 2 types of approach to engineering of the boxes themselves. The airflow seems miserable when comparing to the approach Sony took on the PS5.
They seem to be victims of both wanting to keep the box as small as they could and also quiet. You can't have both while keeping it running cool.

Ok thats looks pretty fucking nice.

I may just be seeing things but it looks like the car tyres really dig into the dirt/gravel sections of the tracks. Nice attention to detail.

Pretty cool looking aurora and change of weather during the race. This looks like the Forza of offroad racing games.
That looked nice really? Seemed very flat to me. And that's not to throw shade at any console since it will look the same on both :messenger_neutral:

Until this guy can confirm he’s an actual Sony game tester, and isn’t so vague, I’m calling bs. Like what does that even mean “people are to be looking very differently at Sony in a year?” Sounds like someone needing attention.
“Wow a vague tweet from some nobody! That convinced me!”

For next-gen? Nah. That looks pretty disappointing for next-gen. I'm not seeing anything that stands out from the current gen. As this is multiplat, it'll look equally as disappointing on the PS5. I might well eat my words if GT7 ends up looking this poor when it's close to release. I sure hope not, because I'm expecting next-gen racers to really pop.

Dirt looks okay, though not particularly impressive. But I assume it's cross gen anyway, so that's to be expected.

It seems Demon's Souls will be the only game with next-gen worthy visuals at launch. I wish were some next-gen exclusive racing or fighting games, like during console launches in the past. Those kinds of games used to be nice technical showpieces to start off a new gen, like Ridge Racer or Tekken Tag Tournament.

The IGN video is complete dogshit. Gamespot is in 4k, with some minor screen tearing. I've stopped watching any videos IGN releases, because somehow they manage to muck up the image quality on everything they upload.

It's a still from a whole video, do you think that's fair? Pretty sure I can also find 1 shitty still in the whole Demon Souls RT video, but that doesn't reflect the quality of the game itself.

A Business Insider Japan (in English) article on last week's Japanese PS5 event with some impressions on the DualSense:
Perhaps that's why the DualSense is much quieter than the PS4's DualShock 4 when you press a button or a trigger, possibly so that the buttons don't make distracting and bothersome sounds during gameplay
Omg finally someone did this! My wife won't be nagging at night YES! :messenger_loudly_crying::messenger_tears_of_joy:

to be honest, I have no idea who half of the people being quoted on this forum are, Twitter/YouTube celebrities is not something that I have a lot of knowledge of
That's a great thing. They're mostly idiots who's social media presence is built on console war. They're not particularly insightful nor smart, they just spread bullshit. Unfortunately there is no shortage of people who buy into those sorta things hence you see them quoted here when we ought to know better.

Yes and that pc version actually starts nearly half a second before, you can see this with the button press bar over mission start already has that graphic in a more avdance position.

Also this game uses that button press animation which takes over a second before the screen fades to black, this is where in next gen games, if devs want, they can eliminate that too.

DiRT 5 includes three visual modes as options: "resolution," "frame rate," and "120 Hz." And all of the above complaints are compounded as you take each step toward lower detail.

In "resolution" mode, the game runs in an apparently uncapped frame rate; this bounces between 30fps and 60fps, which averages out to roughly 40fps. This mode's dynamic resolution maxes out near 2160p and falls as low as an apparent 1440p. (Compared to Xbox One's heavily aliased DiRT 4, the jump in resolution this time around is very appreciated.) Drop to DiRT 5's middle "frame rate" setting, and you'll see a mild hit to texture pop-in on the ground ahead of you, along with a noticeable hit to shadow pop-in in the near distance. Settings are otherwise mostly left intact, other than a dynamic resolution that scales down lower, while the frame rate gets close to, but doesn't lock to, 60fps.

...

The visual quality continues to dwindle when you take things all the way to 120fps mode, at which point major visual features disappear. The worst is an aggressive level-of-detail (LoD) downgrade for any elements near and above the race track. Mountains start to look less like mountains and more like college-grade assets purchased directly from the Unity development store. Tree-lined hillsides lose some trees. Cars lose polygonal detail and flourishes like grills. And the crowds of cheering fans sitting or standing by the road all disappear, even though the game's audio doesn't reflect this reality. (If you think fake crowds in pandemic sports games are bad enough, you ain't seen nothin'.)

Additionally, pop-in issues become much more apparent for both textures and shadows, and ambient occlusion is axed across the board. Those distant trees look weirder without a coat of accurate shadows, while ground textures look decidedly flat in this mode. Plus, its dynamic resolution appears to max out near the 1080p mark, dropping further during busy scenes.

Couple of things at play here. XSX dev systems coming in hot, though I expect similar compromises on PS5. Plus Developer skills/choices and time they have been able to dedicate to it. This will be looked back on as one of those rough launch games chucked out before it was ready on both systems.
