How is that the case when RDNA1 doesn't have raytracing whereas the XSX and PS5 are confirmed to have hardware-based raytracing? Even in the strictest sense if the XSX and PS5 GPUs are not "purely" RDNA2, their cards would be RDNA1 with RDNA2 modifications.

Lol, no I won't. I'm not saying one console is more powerful than another. I hope the xsx is more powerful so the "insiders" will be wrong, but I personally hope the ps5 is more powerful because that's what I'm going to be purchasing.

I dont know as i didnt say it. After CES, people are saying RDNA2 is further out than people were expecting, meaning the new consoles cant/wont be using RDNA2

Consumer RDNA2 graphics cards and RDNA2 in a modified APU for a platform holders are apples and oranges. They do not follow the same schedule.
For example, the PS4 Pro's GPU had Vega features before the consumer Vega cards released.

Well yes, the theory some people were having is that since these consoles both have ray tracing, VRS and other newer technologies they would be using RDNA2 architecture which will have those things.
But it was just a theory which seems that it won't be the case and both will be using RDNA + features of RDNA2. Or maybe they'll unveil RDNA2 in a few months, who knows.

AMD semi-custom silicon bunnies allow you to choose any module from any generation.
You can use RDNA 2 modules... same way you can use GCN 1.1 modules.
That is how PS4 Pro ended with a mix of GCN 1.4 (Polaris) and GCN 1.5 (Vega) before Vega come out.
