The second one makes me feel like going for a few pints outside the pub.
Did a quick time lapse near the beach. Amazing how many details I didn't notice while playing. Smoke from the chimneys isn't always there, doesn't always blow the same direction, puddles get bigger when it rains and dry out when it stops, the garden lamps in the yard emit light and the skybox is just ridiculous. This game does cloud layers which FH3 didn't so you can get lower lying clouds.

Some gameplay and photo mode shots on the X. I just got to Spring time and boy is this game really a looker. WIll post those pics later. No game comes close to FH4
From the pics you posted, I don't see it....not even close...Texture work is lacking on the environments, some of your pics don't come together as well composed. In motion, the aggressive lod is very distracting and in your face, crowds are still 2D for the most part. Generally CA does not look good either in this game....I think people are attracted to the hyper realistic lighting in Horizon, but comparing it to other top games for lighting there's no nuance to the way the game is lit. It's better over Horizon 3 in that aspect, but no where near the top racers for lighting still. In any case, a graphical comparison of the two games....Some gameplay and photo mode shots on the X. I'm not saying Horizon 4 is a bad looking game btw, aesthetically it's a good looking title, but it's not the best I've seen and as I've said before, this game is running better because certain things had to be dialed back. I don't think the lighting or effects engine is that expensive over FH3's either...

This stuff isn't really hitting. Keep trying...
I recognise that picThe 92 Opencritic score for the game has him scrambling.
Awful? Youve got to be kidding right?
The deformation looks brilliant.
Are you aware that you posted Forza Motorsport 4 and not Horizon? The former is a 360 game.
Deformation is awful. Where are the tyre traces in snow? Car doesn't leave that kind of traces in snow. It's unrealistic and wrongly. Like i said, good idea, bad execution.
Sooo... changing the subject from FH4 for a moment, and while on the subjects of inconsistency and deformation, Wreckfest will be coming to consoles next month. It's not a big budget AAA game, so some of the textures and foliage even at max settings on PC look a bit ass by today's standards, there's a lack of AO in places, but other areas look fantastic - the cars themselves and some of the environment and trackside objects for example. The wreckage and carnage is glorious in my opinion.
It'll play at max settings, 4K60fps on a 980TI so graphics will probably be fairly similar for consoles, but frame rate? I think the Jaguar CPU's might start sweating when the physics get going. No fancy photomode shots here, these are no HUD, real time gameplay Steam screenshots.
Wreckfest is a funny one. On the one hand, the assets are a little lower quality than AAA games as you'd expect, but on the other hand, the lighting just looks really really natural to me. It works well IMO.

This is what the drone was made for, hopefully Playground takes another look at it and realises it needs to be able to go higher and clip though big trees. Nothing worse than being two minutes into an awesome chase clip of a race and coming to a hard stop against a tree trunk. Just imagine if you could pilot the drone while a bunch of people race up the mountain roads west of Edinburgh. There could be some WRC tier footage made. The drone shots show how great the draw distances are in the game. There is LOD pop-in, but usually at a far enough distance you have to be looking for it to notice.
I made this yesterday as well, hadn't gotten around to posting it as the capture program cut out 1/4 of the image for some reason and grabbed them in VHS quality. Tons of cars were passing by the image leaving a wake which would have looked great in the stop motion. It sucks a bit but it does shot some nice sky I guess.
I also left my PC running while I was out today. It captured 1 4K image every second for about an hour and a half. 4864 frames, 4.5GB. I've done three of these now and have never managed to catch a thunderstorm, heavy rain, or low lying fog. I run into them while playing but when I set up a drone to capture anything the storms seem to vanish instantly. The weather is extremely random and rare events like full out storms sometimes don't even occur during a daytime cycle.

GTS: Refraction shaders of light lenses are technologies comparable to ray tracing
FORZA: Lack of refraction shader, poor technology of previous-gen
