You know what's even better than SD 3 Kingdoms? The 2nd season of SD Gundam Force. The first season sucked ass but the 2nd season which never got dubbed had amazing designs and action scenes for EVERYTHING.
Hyper Captain is still one of my most favourite SD designs ever.
For reals? I think I'll go watch that. Is it subbed officially/fansubbed?

Guys, I bet that Gundam face is gonna be two eyes, two notches on the nose, and a big red block protruding out for the chin. And then some sort of samurai helmet, with grill vents on the sides.
Call me crazy, but I think that's probably what it's gonna look like. I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that's what they're gonna go with. I think it's highly likely. That's like, a good, good chance of happening.
It seems like a real possibility here.

Maybe because SEED isn't actually as terrible as people think (though there are problems, I won't deny that), it's just retroactively hated because of DESTINY? Shocking, I know.

DVD sales don't mean much, it's the gunpla sales and merch that will mean the most to how successful it is. G-Reco doesn't seem to be doing as bad as AGE did, but it's still not doing that great, and GBF is no doubt kicking it's all in the money making.

The original SEED actually wasn't that terrible - it was very decent. In fact, it was my favorite Gundam 12 years ago (having only seen Wing and G that time). It was my first experience with a Gundam that really dealt and showed some serious shit going down.
Destiny on the other hand brought the worse parts of SEED, turnt them up to eleven, and became a fanservice nightmare.

Agreed. I've had the urge to rewatch it so I marathoned the whole thing this past week. It definitely still holds up, stock footage aside.
Going to rewatch Destiny now. I recall outside of the mech designs and a handful of episodes I was disappointed in it. Let's see if a few years away from it have changed anything.
Gonna skip the recaps aside from that one with Durandal, and do the right thing by watching Final Plus instead of Phase 50.

That's the misleading first week number, apparently 2nd week break the expectation and the result look fine since then.
The V1 is something like 10k and series average are around 9k based from this
I would say since I don't think they putting high expectation from Tomino modern output (they basically all tanked) its not thar bad

I do believe it is officially subbed, but good luck finding it because it's kind of old now.
The best part about the Japanese version was the main bad guy is an SD Sazabi that's voiced by Char.

A Gundam with a "Cast Off" Mechanic would be cool.

As cool as that would be, knowing Sunrise that would mean the Gundam would take like 2 shots in armor more, cast off and revert to the same bog standard fast, close/mid-range suit that we've had since SEED. Give me a pure heavy weapons main suit for once.
Also Virtue had that in 00 and the Nadleeh inner suit was just way less interesting.
