Next Gundam series being teased? G-Tekketsu

SEED is a bad show filled with bad characters, bad writing, and shitty animation. Destiny didn't ruin anything, it was just a worse show following a bad one.
I liked Gundam Seed. I just hated Flay and Kira. I found the naturals to be lame in general, tbh. Athrun was cool though. I don't think I finished Gundam Seed Destiny since I can hardly remember a thing.

Char's Counterattack is also a must, even though yes, they did go kinda backwards with some of the character development.

In fact, here's the obligatory Gundam mega watch guide.
CCA will forever boil down to two grown ass men bitching about some dead chick that they originally got over to me. And fucking Quess and Hathaway. Bright smacked him too late.

On a random note, one thing that irks me is when military personnel in anime, especially Gundam, call higher ranking officials by their rank and first name. Wtf, we never did that in the army. We'd get Bright slapped for that! XD

Although hearing Lieutenant Vagina all throughout Zeta would've been rather interesting, heh.

That's a Japanese quirk. You are often referred to by your title and name. It sounds weird in English but it's fine in Japanese. Everyone is -sensei if you're in a Doctor or teaching profession, lol.

IIRC, the English dub of Gundam 00 uses title + last name, so they might've retranslated for that. ("Colonel Katagiri", "Second Lieutenant Colasour")

I found SEED to be just bland at first, but Destiny was so bad that it retroactively made everything else in the SEED universe worse in my eyes.Really cannot stand the AU even though it had some decent mecha designs.

SEED was pretty cliche, and it started out as a retread of 0079, but it became its own thing and was fairly enjoyable show. Destiny was just garbage though and made everyone suddenly hate SEED.

Same thing with 00, S2 somehow ruined the first series for random ppl.

Not that there weren't other things about SEED I didn't like, but even if there were, it would be hard for me to divorce the show from its two lead characters and a plot that revolves entirely around them. :lol

There's a much more interesting SEED out there in an alternate universe where Kira actually dies in his battle with Athrun midway through the show, and Athrun then becomes the guilt-ridden protagonist of the story.

Doesn't 00 also address everyone in their full names too?

I hated SEED before it was cool!

SEED is good, Destiny is awful (although the post-Destiny retcons of Destiny in stuff like SRW have made Destiny decent), 00 S1 is great, 00 S2 is awful, 00 Movie is below any rating scale, AGE is awful, Unicorn is decent/good (pretty, but dumb), Build Fighters S1 is good.
Haven't watched Build S2 which I hear is bad, and the 3 eps I've seen of G-Reco are awesome but everyone talks shit on the show so I guess it ends up being not good.

Gundam track record is basically lol, flip a coin on whether Tekketsu will be good or awful.

I think the craziest thing about Gundam consistency in quality is that even when you have a good show like SEED or 00 S1 and you have the same fucking staff make the sequel, the sequel ends up being a turd due to studio interference or other stupid stuff. Sunrise can ruin a good thing like nobody's business.

Seed Destiny was the biggest bullshit retelling of Zeta I've ever god damn seen.
Athrun is mai husbando. SEED is good. Fuck SEED Destiny. :(
Athrun is everybody's husbando, had the brains to not date Lacus, made more sense than Kira as a character and just fun even when he was socially awkward and he legit beat Kira until they Deused the guy back to life. Only good part of Destiny was seeing him wipe that shit eating grin off of Shinn's face and watching him react to being in a harem show.

One thing really bothered me about Athrun is how he dropped Cagali (and vice versa) like a hot potato just like that.

From what I remember, I think it was from inner politics concerning the latter's VA but still, quite peculiar.
Not to mention I remember shipping the hell out them around that time

I wouldn't say dropped like a hot potato. Athrun really did care for her and she didn't take his ring off for a while either. If it was internal politics then that makes sense too, though even by the end Cagali wanted to make sure Athrun was taken care of. In the long run Athrun ended up with someone that had the time to be there for him and Cagali ended up like Releena, just without Heero. Man Seed Destiny did not handle its characters right at all.

Zeta realized that you can't build an entire TV show around an overpowered ace pilot (even a two hour movie was pushing it, seriously Amuro became untouchable after the original trilogy). Seed Destiny decided to not only focus on this overpowered ace, but to give him additional abilities, like arbitrarily making him a newtype. There's no tension at all.

The sheer volume of stock footage alone should disqualify SEED from any discussion of being a good show.

IIRC, Destiny actually starts off in an interesting way, even though it goes down the toilet not long after.

lol, Fukuda really had no control over that production did he? I've never heard of any other Gundam series with so many VA disputes.

Wasn't Fukuda also forcing his wife or someone else to be center stage or something?

Also I got that Cinco Labia lol

Seed Destiny is like a show cobbled together out of twelve cans of recycled footage. It had what 4 clip episodes?

He also learned the ability to win arguments by spouting pure and utter bullshit.

I only watched a few Gundam shows when they were on Toonami, and G Gundam stuck with me the most. I adored it as a kid and only just recently figured out what it was called as I had forgotten it for like 10+ years, but remembered the Devil Gundam and the ending fight so clearly. If this upcoming one is anything like G Gundam I'm there.

So, apparently the teaser image is revealing more parts each day?
Has anyone guessed the Gundam yet? By looking at the shoulder, it doesn't look like a G Gundam for me.

So who did Cagalli and Athrun end up with? I don't even remember the end of seed destiny. Seed was good as I recently rewatched the last half of the show... Although Kira should have died and Athrun should have became the main hero and fought in the memory of Kira.

I remember the crazy spin death of Laucs's clone in seed destiny. That alone made me stop watching the train wreck of the show and made me stop watching anime for few years...

One thing Seed and Seed Destiny had were their awesome music for the ops and endings.

There's nothing to "guess" here. It's clearly a brand new Gundam design for a brand new series which they're announcing next week. It's not something anyone would already be familiar with.

Ah okay. I only read the first page so I assumed it's going to be a new G Gundam series lol.
A brand new gundam would be cool, can't wait!

I remember watching the finale of Gundam Seed on YTV when I was younger.

It was one of the most amazing battles I had seen. I really liked how they were waxing philosophical as the duel raged on.

And that finishing blow at the end was superb, it had the perfect build up after everything else that had happened up until that point in the episode.

AFAIK, everybody who worked on SEED Destiny hated Fukuda. So much, that some of the VAs quit voice acting entirely.

...I should note that Shinn's VA said that the SRW Seed Destiny was the "true" version to him.

Naturally, Fukuda said he considered the SRW version to have "ruined the story" and was "talentless hack writing".

yeah well

lol even stock footage made it into that 30th anniversary short they made 6 years ago.

Nah I'm pretty sure that's not stock footage from Seed/Des, it's just the same Full Burst pose.
Seed is my first brush with Gundam - first episode I watched was...the last one, on Toonami. The DRAGOON battle in that ep was legitly hype, and I still like it now as much as I did then.
Too bad the rest of Seed, and Seed Des didn't live up to my expectation when I saw them after this, but some of the battles are still pretty good. More so after they put out the Remastered version and fixed a lot of the animation fuckups. Shame they couldn't do anything about the story.

Sunrise has been using same stock footage for the past 15 years for every series featuring a robot since seed... Buddy complex/cross ange/ build fighters etc....

^Pretty sure Gundam 00 had (almost) no stock footage.
Some stock footage is more acceptable than others. Like the mobile suit launching sequence - the scene's necessary, but they aren't gonna animate a new one everytime they do it. And Sunrise have been greatly reducing the amount of stock footage in battle so it doesn't look too conspicuous.
00, Build Fighter and Unicorn has minimal battle stock footage as I remember. Off the top of my head I only remember one sequence in ep 25 of 00 season 1, when one of the Alvaaron's Fangs blows up, is used twice in the same ep.

Celestial Being movie >>>> 00 Movie

And I honestly thought something worse than A Wakening the Trailblazer couldn't possibly exist. I'm sad this image is being there, someone made this for the world to see and they should feel bad.

I know it's from the actual movie... but God dammit I just imagined it being real and completely forgot.

Why did they leave part of the crotch obscured? It's not like it'll look any different than the other side.
Didn't stop them from doing the same thing with the forearm before.

And can somebody do some tinkling and make the image brighter so maybe we can get some more details? Maybe fully see what the waist look like.
Like this one is an "enhanced" version of the image a couple days ago and it shows more of the torso, the head and the V-fin:

I like the 00 movie, fuck the haters

AGE is still trash, SRWZ Destiny is some godtier fanfic

I liked it too. But I also watched it without subs (and I don't speak Japanese), so I'm sure that's telling of something. :lol

Waxing philosophical during a final battle is a Gundam tradition!
