Next Xbox is ‘More Advanced’ Than the PS5 according to Insiders.

This was part of my concern for Sony the moment they sealed their lips and went on this quiet news front. I can believe it because Phil Spencer has a mission to turn the tables around so that the XBOX is a 100 million seller and not Playstation. If they really have acquired 3 more studios by the time E3 comes then I would put more trust in this rumor as Microsoft really do have the finances to take the hit on hardware and more than make up for it in software and services. They also have the business acumen to get great deals on technology. Remember when they fucked Sony on the 360 using a loop hole in IBM's contract on future projects?
 
Let's face it both are going to release at the same time and both will be very similar in power due to them using basically the same cpu/gpu architecture. What it will mostly boil down to is the classic PC dick wagging contest of how fast the CPU's and GPU's are running.

That is unless Microsoft is pissing in the wind again with ESRAM.

Ok 50 either going out of business or havnt produced a single hit in the last decade.... al im saying is ms at this point have been nothing but talk lets see some fucking results.

Maybe it is and maybe isn't, they'll likely say it is anyways. Specs or there's not much point to this. 'Member when Microsoft was trying to say their GPU was more advanced in the XBO because they were the makers of DX and "the clock speed bump applies to every core", lol? different leadership, but companies are going to company.

This is the concerning part of next-gen. If MS has a super weak console then third parties are going to look like garbage compared to Sony exclusives if they choose to support it.

Exactly, this is why these rumors are a waste of time until we get complete specs. Even then, if the architecture isn't similar we'll have to wait and see actual results on various games to compare.

On top of that, I would hope MS brings the more powerful system, that's really all they have to offer imo until their exclusives start showing up. It's to the point now where psvr exclusives are far and away more varied and interesting than Xbox's.

If the rumors are true and their weaker console is 4 teraflops versus 12+ teraflops for the higher end console, the lowest common denominator for third-party games are going to be crap.

A true next gen console should have the baseline being with the highest spec at launch, otherwise they won't take advantage of the full potential sadly.

Yep, people complained at having cross gen games at the beginning of this gen. If third parties support it then we'll have that all gen long.
 
You would have to be mad to think they'll be giving up the title for most powerful console again, even if its a $100 more SKU version with base models largely the same is what I predict will play out.
 
Changes are going to be made to the systems over the course of their development. Either the Xbox 1 2 360 x will be more powerful than the Playstation 5aroonoo, or it won't be. We just have to wait fo both products to be fully released, and see what the truth is.

Seriously though the issue I have with my Xbox isn't its power or lack thereof, it's the goddamned lack of content. Microsoft could make me channel lightning out of my asshole with their next system but who cares if there's nothing to play on it?.

You can't make an assumption like that without knowing what resolution both consoles are running games at.
 
I love both Xbox and Ps4 but this just says " My penis a little bigger than yours " :p

I'm excited for next gen go boys make them beasts of machines no mid upgrade shit.

we dont even know the specs of the ps5. he literally just said it has a ryzen cpu. navi gpu. thats nothing to go from. all I hear is either fanboyism or paid influencing by microsoft. because nobody knows the specs of the console and they arent finalized
 
MS has always created powerful consoles, and their online service will no doubt be better and smoother as well. Powerful hardware and software combined makes for a powerful synergy that sony can't seem to match. MS only real downside is getting more exclusives.

I have no idea If Xbox will be more powerful. I don't care who is or isn't but the fact we're getting "little birdies" being sent to say "anonymous sources claim" makes me think Microsoft is shook right now. Don't know how that plays out though.
 
If the rumour of them launching 2 different models is true this would make sense.
Like:
Xbox Basic$399: cheapest but weakest, still plays all "next gen" games
Ps5 $499: Middle option in price and power
Xbox Pro $599: Most expensive but best performance.

Would be interesting to see how a strategy of covering both the high end and low end market works out
 
No doubt on paper it will a bit but they are more than likely generally going to be the same AMD cookie cut machines.

Also even you can't reply on even known specs. Sony threw in an additional 4gb of ram last minute before launch.

Sony coming out talking about hardware before its officially announced shows its worried that MS marketing about being the more powerful console is cutting through. For someone in a position of power this seems rather desperate. "Its going to be good honest you need to believe us"... um ok?

I think people are severely overestimating raw power as a selling point. If a consoles power scales well to its price, games available, and services then it doesn't matter who or what is more powerful. Ps2 and the DS were both the weakest systems of their generation. It didn't matter because the price was right and it had appealing software.

I'll just say it, I think Microsoft are shook. We've had almost an entire year of extremely hyperbolic statements like streaming being the future in the next few years, Xbox ready to dominate, Xbox will be the most powerful thing ever, game pass game pass game pass, and the whole house of cards collapses from a random magazine interview. Think about that.
