Gaf I have my razor in my hand and thinking about rocking the fu manchu for the rest of this ravens post season..... SOME ONE STOP ME :(

It's easy to forget that Watt is a rookie, damn the 2011 draft was a good one.

I'm trying to rank what I think will be the top 10 players out of the draft and it's easier said than done. Here's what I've got so far:

1) Cam Newton
2) Aldon Smith
3) Patrick Peterson
4) AJ Green
5) Von Miller
6) JJ Watt
7) Andy Dalton
7) DeMarco Murray
8) Marcell Dareus
9) Julio Jones
10) Ryan Kerrigan

And on top of that there were several more players I was really impressed by like: Torrey Smith, Richard Sherman, Mike Pouncey, Cameron Heyward, and Christian Ponder.

That's not even mentioning some of the 1st rounders that didn't get much playing time this year like Prince Amukamara, Jake Locker, Mark Ingram, and Nick Fairley. It is easily one of the best draft classes of the last decade.

Don't forget Adrian Clayborn.

TCK FF SACK
42 3 7.5

Overall the bucs have been drafting really well since Gruden left. His staff were terrible talent evaluators.

I'd only do that if Flacco ended up taking you to the promised land.

I didn't know that Clayborn had that impressive a year, nice. With the talent on your DL it could be dominant if you ever get some decent coaching.

Oh man the raiders cant catch a break. They go from an owner that looks like a zombie to his son that looks like an Amish imbecile.

M-O-O-N That spells football!

Quick with a great motor, but he plays soft and doesnt have the strength that a DT really needs. Gets to the QB and the backfield often but usually cant bring the QB or RB down when he does. Missed most of the last 2 seasons injured both years.

Mccoy is a poor mans suh, and suh is average so..... Yeah

Really an amazing draft. I really like that in a draft filled with so many pro-ready guys, the Rams took a huge risk on a DE who hadn't played in a year and has shown no ability or even interest in playing the run

Flacco sucks do not honor him. Instead, inject collagen into your gums and replace your teeth with the teeth of a child and be Terrell Suggs

Flacco would be better if they didn't run the ball so much!

I LOLed hard when I heard that on mike and mike. Dude is so butthurt about not being considered an "elite" qb by the media. Next he will complain about having to play with a great defense. Considering the dude doesn't even know how to groom himself it shouldn't surprise anyone that he doesn't have basic PR skills.

Since we're talking about last year's 1st round:

  • 1 Carolina Cam Newton (QB) Auburn
2 Denver Von Miller (OLB) Texas A&M
3 Buffalo Marcell Dareus (DT) Alabama
4 Cincinnati A.J. Green (WR) Georgia
5 Arizona Patrick Peterson (CB) LSU
6 Atlanta Julio Jones (WR) Alabama
7 San Francisco Aldon Smith (DE) Missouri
8 Tennessee Jake Locker (QB) Washington
9 Dallas Tyron Smith (OT) USC
10 Jacksonville Blaine Gabbert (QB) Missouri
11 Houston J.J. Watt (DE) Wisconsin
12 Minnesota Christian Ponder (QB) Florida St
13 Detroit Nick Fairley (DT) Auburn
14 St. Louis Robert Quinn (DE) UNC
15 Miami Mike Pouncey (C) Florida
16 Washington Ryan Kerrigan (DE) Purdue
17 New England Nate Solder (OT) Colorado
18 San Diego Corey Liuget (DT) Illinois
19 NY Giants Prince Amukamara (CB) Nebraska
20 Tampa Bay Adrian Clayborn (DE) Iowa
21 Cleveland Phil Taylor (DT) Baylor
22 Indianapolis Anthony Castonzo (OT) BC
23 Philadelphia Danny Watkins (OG) Baylor
24 New Orleans Cameron Jordan (DE) California
25 Seattle James Carpenter (OG) Alabama
26 Kansas City Jonathan Baldwin (WR) Pittsburgh
27 Baltimore Jimmy Smith (CB) Colorado
28 New Orleans Mark Ingram (RB) Alabama
29 Chicago Gabe Carimi (OT) Wisconsin
30 NY Jets Muhammad Wilkerson (DE) Temple
31 Pittsburgh Cameron Heyward (DE) Ohio St
32 Green Bay Derek Sherrod (OT) Miss St

That top half of the 1st round really looks to be terrific so far.

I totally agree. I am dumbfounded as to why UNC's defensive players are being rated so highly in the last few drafts. The only player out of UNC that has impressed me in the last 5 years or so is Hakeem Nicks. I'd stay far away from defensive players coming out of UNC if I was a GM. I will bet money that Coples will be a flop, I think he's the most overrated player in the draft.

That said however, the team that ends up taking Dwight Jones (he's a WR) will be getting a huge steal. I'd loooooove for the Panthers to take him, but unless we take him in the 2nd round I doubt he'll be around when we pick again in the 4th.

Tyron Smith should be in that top 10 over Kerrigan and Dareus. Also think Nate Solder should get a mention. He has been a starting T for almost the entire season for the Pats, granted he has Waters/Mankins next to him, Brady behind him and maybe the best OL coach in the game in Dante Scarnecchia, but he has played really well this season.

So, I bought a new power supply for my desktop.
Might as well start getting parts to upgrade it, so in 6 months maybe I'll buy a motherboard.
Don't even have audio out on the thing right now, stupid module...

Yeah, UNC defensive players have been a bit of a bust so far, but I think Austin will be good (injured this year so didn't get to show his talent) and I think if Greg Little can cure his dropsies problem from this past season (odd, because he had pretty damn sure hands in college) he'll be a weapon for the Browns. I'm a little wary about Coples as he seems to be lazy, but he's really talented. The guy I'd definitely stay away from is Dante Paige-Moss - dude is a straight cancer. I think both Dwight Jones and Zach Brown will be very good NFL players though and I especially wouldn't mind taking Brown to replace Davis if he could be had in the 2nd (I've seen him projected top half first round though, so he's probably going elsewhere).

I haven't watched many Pats games this season so I was wondering how he was working out. You think Belichick might actually use both of your firsts this year?

I almost forgot about Zach Brown, I definitely like him a heck of a lot more than I do Quinn and Coples. I wish he was a little bigger, but he's got freaky speed and good instincts. I definitely wouldn't be upset if we ended up taking him in the second.

JPP on the "guarantee" that the Giants will win Sunday:

"It came from the heart," Pierre-Paul said. "If we go out and play like we are supposed to play, like we did last Sunday, we are going to win. In their right mind, who is going to say their team is going to lose when somebody asks you that question?"

Bruce Carter was supposed to be pretty good too right? Got drafted by the Cowboys whilst injured but he should play next year.

Greg Cossell (NFL Films) was on the Shut Down Corner podcast and said Flacco still struggles with his pre-snap reads, which makes him so inconsistent. Has the ability as a thrower to be elite, but still gets confused by coverages

As someone brought up before, what else do you expect a player on any team in the NFL to say? You have to be a cocky ahole to be an NFL player unless you have God on your side.

Meh. I like the confidence. I'd be worried if he gave some half assed "Well, we're going to try..." response.

I hope so, we need enough players across the board with a lot of guys hitting free agency the coming offseason and with other guys just sucking (still finished 13-3 so not really complaining). Finally picking up a pass rusher would be really nice and safety like Mark Barron would be really sweet. With Oakland's pick in the second I hope they pick a WR. Another corner would also be nice and a real stud at center is also needed.

So I hope they go :

1. Corner
1. Safety
2. WR (Maybe that kid from Rutgers)
2. Center or DE

Edit : But BB will probably trade the second first rounder and pick a shady RB, one dude who is injury prone and a MLB. 'Cause he's a draft genius.

I don't even think Coples is a first round pick, the guy has shown nothing this year, 4 of his sacks came against complete scrubs.

Danorris Searcy impressed me this year, guy has potential. His instincts are really good, great tackler, but his size and speed will hold him back. I guess if he had speed and size he wouldn't have gone in the 4th, because everything else is there.

Fuck a WR. This draft should all be defense. DE, and linebackers should be the top priority. Hopefully Glass-I pans out, but I doubt it. Haven't payed attention to the prospects in this years draft at all. What position is this draft
deep in?

BB will trade both 1st round picks for 1st round picks next year.

And a couple of late round picks this year. The man loves his late round picks.

I like Mark Barron, that would be a good pick up. If you're picking up a WR to replace Welker if he leaves for more money I'd probably pick up one of the Arkansas wide receivers in the 4th, both of them are undervalued and are close to the fastest at their position in the draft.

This draft is really deep at CB, hybrid OLB/DE, and offensive linemen. There's decent depth at OLB and WR too. It's a poor draft for DTs, ILBs, Safeties, and Quarterbacks.

LJ, why was CJ Spiller buried on the depth chart? He seemed pretty good when Fred Jackson went on IR.

Pass blocking, guy couldn't do it. Still isn't that good at it, but he's improved.

Another issue was patience, once Fred jumped him in the depth chart he kept pressing, trying to make a big play every time out because he knew the reps would be limited. He'd get tackled by a shoe string and bang his hand on the ground repeatedly, because he was so close to breaking it but wouldnt get another rep because Fred was coming in on 3rd down for sure.

Just needs to focus more and get better in pass pro, hard to focus when youre worried about reps. Nice guy too, sometimes I wish we didn't draft him so he'd get on a better team that would use him more.

And yeah Fred Jackson is pretty good too, guy had close to 1400 yards from scrimmage and he only played half the year.

I think they keep Welker, but Branch will be a FA (although they probably bring him back) and I don't know what they're gonna do with Ocho. Besides that they have corner Edelman, safety Slater and Hi-top fade Underwood, so I hope one way or another they get a WR (Lloyd)

I believe this is a pretty good CB draft, so maybe they can improve the secondary. A guy like Dont'a Hightower would be a dream, but he's probably gone when they pick. Regarding the WR pick, they need a good WR, but drafting WR's hasn't exactly been their strong point, so maybe free agency is a better place. If they can sign Lloyd they're all good at WR.
