http://bleacherreport.com/articles/909109-why-aaron-rodgers-is-the-best-football-player-alive

Here is the Rodgers section on Football Outsiders DVOA Quick Reads article today.

Rodgers has now been one of the top four quarterbacks six times in seven weeks this season. Going into the Monday night game, Rodgers led the league with 1,203 DYAR. His lead over the field is so great that he can't be compared to his peers one by one. You need to say things like "Rodgers has been about as valuable as Drew Brees and Alex Smith combined," or "one Aaron Rodgers is worth two Matt Schaubs." If anyone you know tries to argue that anyone other than Rodgers has been the MVP of the league so far, cut off all ties with that person, immediately.

He ended up beating out Brees' crazy day due to opponent strength adjustments and too many short dumpoffs for Brees.

The Stafford section had a good quote as well about the terrible state of QB play in the league, especially for this week.

This is how bad the quarterback play was in Week 7: Stafford just barely had positive DYAR this week, meaning by definition that his performance was typical of quarterbacks who usually get replaced. And yet he finished just outside the top 10, and ahead of 16 other quarterbacks, five of whom won anyway. So brace yourselves, because it gets ugly from here on in.

TO having himself a workout today for NFL teams. How many teams showed up? 0.

Sad. To think what his career could have been. What the Eagles could have been.

I hate him still.

Nice OP. The guy will get better as the season winds on. I'm looking forward to the rest of the season. Is he the long term answer? I'm not sure. He will have to be judged on the body of his starts. If Denver even sniffs the playoffs I think it will be hard to get rid of him from a fan standpoint. At this point I would be happy winning some division games.

That being said I think we play a tough game against Detroit. Authority field will be rocking, but I still question our defense. If we can stay out of a hole we might have a chance.

So Ras-I Dowling is back at practice, gonna be great to see him on the field for 5-10 plays against the Steelers. Then he's gonna get injured again and we have to wait 2 weeks before he plays again.

Kyle Williams may be out for the year with a leg injury. Dude had a bum leg to start the season, played on it and it got worse and worse.

Dareus has to basically anchor that line. Heard's shown some promise, Troup's been hurt, no real depth behind him.

Buffalo D is already bad, going to be a whole lot worse with Williams out.

Unfortunately the only game where I saw him play live was the Redskins Eagles game last year when McNabb came back for the first time. Vick was hurt by the 1st quarter I think and then King Kolb came in.
I saw Kolb's first game when he came in against the Steelers in 2008.

I knew from that moment that he was a bum but yet I wanted him to stay in there because the Eagles defense was beasting on our o-line and he was our only chance of success. McNabb came in after a horrible Kolb INT and led the Eagles on the only scoring drive of the game.

Hey! Yankeehater told me he was legit after he had a 300 yard game a career 75 qb rating! only a matter of time before kolb puts his death grip on the nfl

:lol

I remember those days well.

Good times.

Good friends.

Horrible quarterbacks and the people that love them.

Some things never change!

I would love to see a post where I said Kolb was legit. Some how I really doubt you will find one though.

Bionic I definitely feel like I have won at life. My wife hated sports when I met her, and now she is surprising me with tickets to hockey/baseball games all the time. She is even starting to get into football. I think if my friends were not such idiots the transition would have been easier, then again the Eagles not being horrible this year would have help a lot to.

What WR woes? Braylon is coming back this week. Crabtree is ok. Also, we have 2 TE's that are better than most WR in the league anyways..

Vernon Davis would be the 3rd best TE on our roster.

Calling Rors. Please fire up the wayback machine to confirm or deny yankeehater's love for Kevin Kolb!

I was more impressed with the idea that your wife would be with you for 7 hours of tailgaiting.

Hell I love football and I wouldn't even want to tailgate for 7 hours unless one of my buddies owned some kind of monster RV with internet and satellite tv.

Really? Back when I didnt have to get up for work at 6am my friends and I would be the first guys in the parking lot. We once got down there at 6:30am for an 8:30pm game. We had to break into the parking lot to even get in. I love tailgating so much, I could do it all day long.

You're a terrible sports fan. No wonder your wife won't tailgate with you.

I've got so many wives jokes right now. I can't tell if I'm passing on them because I don't know you guys well enough, or because I know you too well.

If I lived in California I wouldn't mind tailgaiting all day. I hate standing around in the cold.

It is actually fun when the weather is nice, but that doesn't happen very often in the Northeast during the football season.

I was hunting with my brother in laws and my father in law this past week. So many opportunities for hilarious jokes about sex and the one fat sister that I had to pass on because the women's dad was along. Such a shame.

In the upper midwest in the winter you can either drink yourself to sleep while sitting in a parking lot all Sunday, or you can drink yourself to sleep alone in the woods after climbing a tree with a loaded shotgun.

Greatest OT of all time.

With that said... Tim Tebow is probably not going to be the future of the Denver QBs (Matt Barclay consolation prize maybe?), but at least he's going to be make the rest of this season interesting for a Broncos fan (with his ups and downs). However, don't discount Denver yet. With the performances this week by San Diego and Oakland, an 8-8 team will likely win the West. We're still in it!

Who the shit is Matt Barclay?

Ha I remember that game. I think McNabb got hurt early on and Kolb came in. Then he was terrible and McNabb came back from the locker room.

I hate Kolb. I hated him from the moment he was drafted, for all the reasons he was drafted, where in the draft he was picked, but in his defense he came in against some great D in relief of McNabb. Against the Steelers and then I think the following year against the Ravens. And of course Reid didn't help by going pass pass pass even with a backup QB with no experience.

Can't believe NFLn has TO's workout live and they are analyzing his work out hahahahahaha.
Gotta break him down when an NFL team signs him. With the number of WRs who have fallen recently why not give TO a shot? Titans could sure use him. Same with the Redskins to a lesser extent.

Thats what I figured.

Also explains why everyone is so fat.

I guess in Wisconsin standing around getting drunk and freezing your ass off in a parking lot beats having to look at or sleep with your wife.

Good point.

:lol Love Reid. Hope the fat man never changes.

Miami just signed J.P. Losman and put Sage Rosenfels on the Reserve/Non-Football Illness List (back).

So... Tuck back, Osi back, plus Canty and JPP... oh plus the Nigerian Prince should see some action, which will improve the Giants coverage unit too?

The Giants aren't leaving the field until someone on Miami dies this week.

All Miami needs to do is call Pennington if they want to win. Only he can lead the to the promise land.

How is Tony Sparano not fired yet? Someone explain this to me. I didn't even think he was that terrible of a coach before the season started, but he's definitely lost this team. Same goes for Jim Caldwell too.

Speaking of coaches who need to be fired, why is it I never hear about Spagnulo's job being in danger? Is it talked about and only really on rams websites or what?

Plinko

Wildcard berths that can't beat teams without a winning record should have homefield advantage

Spagnuolo, Del Rio, Sparano, and Caldwell all need to be fired. I'm convinced all 3 except Caldwell will be fired.

I couldn't believe the guys on PTI were defending Caldwell yesterday and saying it wasn't his fault.

because he hasn't completely lost the team yet is why. They still back him and try to play, they just aren't very good. Plus who do you replace him with? All the coaches have problems and there are rumors the locker room will be completely lost if he's fired. I do think though that a big blow out loss gets him canned so maybe this weekend.

As for JP being signed.... Moore already has bruised ribs and I think he'll get killed this week, he's been hit 25 times in the last 2 games. then things get really ugly.

In Miami's case I think it will look bad for them especially after the off season where they openly pursued Harbaugh.

And at this point I guess there no one out there they would like to pick up. If they finished the 1st pick they can attract a big name coach or get their pick from all the coordinators that will be in demand.

Spags need to come back to Philly to take over the D.
