NFL 2013 Wild Card |OT| The Return of Jafar

Bully has become a word lacking meaning.
Just like "pretentious".

Who honestly saw this season coming? The closest one I saw was a guy at a Texans forum who did predict them to go 6-10. Complete, unprecedented meltdown. Like Smokey stated earlier: there were still some successes. Schaub is gone, Kubiak is gone, Marciano is gone
Between Houston and Atlanta, definitely crazy to see where they finished after such high expectations coming in.

Current National Weather Service report on upcoming Green Bay game temperatures said:
* WIND CHILL VALUES... 40 TO 55 BELOW ZERO SUNDAY NIGHT THROUGH TUESDAY MORNING.
* OTHER IMPACTS... EXPOSED SKIN COULD FREEZE WITHIN 5 TO 10 MINUTES.

How is this safe

All the talk of the cold weather negatively effecting the Saints reminds me of the NFC Championship game against the Bucs. And that is not a pleasant memory.

Yup. And if you look at the teams the Saints lost to on the road this season they all fielded better defenses than ours.

Brees and Graham are going to feast.

Donovan McNabb and Matt Leinert just called "a couple of bitter QB's" by the host on FS1. AMAZING! hahaha

Context?

At work but even when I am home I always forget I have this channel. Is it any good?

http://www.tampabay.com/blogs/bucs/the-full-press-recruitment-of-lovie-smith-to-the-bucs/2159398

When he was asked to interview for the Texans head coaching job, Lovie Smith was sent a round-trip ticket from Chicago to Houston on a commerical flight. No private plane, no organization entourage knocking on his door in Lake Forest, Ill.

When the Tampa Bay Buccaneers asked to interview Smith, the team's three co-chairmen flew to the Windy City Tuesday in the dead of winter and summoned the former Bears' head coach to a home owned by Bryan Glazer, who was joined by his brothers, Joel and Ed.

"In the coaching carousel, everybody is playing this shadow game and trying to figure out where they stand,'' said Smith's son, Matt, an agent for IMG who represents his dad. "The Bucs were very candid they wanted dad and they were willing to do what it takes to get him. They knew who they wanted and they got their guy.''

There's been a lot of speculation about where Smith, arguably the most coveted free agent head coach, might wind up. Why did he choose Tampa Bay over the Detroit Lions, who have a great front seven on defense, an unwordly receiver in Calvin Johnson and a franchise quarterback in Matthew Stafford? Or over the Washington Redskins, who are a high-profile job with quarterback Robert Griffin III?

The reason? Familiarity.

Familiarity with the Glazer family and organizational structure. Smith began his career as a linebackers coach on Tony Dungy's first staff in '96. Familiarity with the Tampa Bay community, which he loves. Familiarity with the franchise DNA, identified by a dominant defense.

And familiarity is not much different than family when you think about it.

"It's home,'' Matt said. "That was something it had over other places. The level of familiarity and comfort level was important. And in the NFL, being comfortable, familiar with where you are and who you're working with adds to the chemistry of the organization.

He said, "I just don't want to go somewhere, I want to go to the right place. Tampa is the right place.''

I'm comin home...I'm comin home. Tell the world I'm comin home. Let the rain...wash away...all the pain of yesterday...

The SB is going to be such a disaster. The backlash should be quite remarkable when it's a cold mess.

Why? We have playoff games every year that have weather issues. It's part of the game. All the other shit and corporate bullshit of the SB is not.

Looks like a foot and a half/quarter.

Just guestimating. Haven't gone outside yet.
We only got like 6 inches or 8 at most but the worst part was the cold.

Fuck it is cold outside.

It will only suck for the rich bastards going to see the game or fans of pussy teams that can only play in domes.

For the 200 million watching on tv it will be glorious. Did you not see the snow games from a few weeks back? They all ended up being classics.

Sign me the fuck up for a snow filled Superbowl.

Maybe if they had the super bowl in the cold every year the old richers would stop going, leaving more tickets for real fans.

that would be pretty cool.

It's great for the fans..but all the big wigs will be flipping out and make sure it never happens again.

Who is calling the first NBC game tomorrow?

I always forget but NBC has a B team?

Hope Collinsworth and Al are doing the Eagles-Saints game.

Anyway listening to some sports radio and interesting point brought up. As good as Foles has played and he definitely is the QB of the future (for at least next season), but how much of it is McCoy and then running game threat? I hope Foles is the guy and we can focus on this up coming draft on building the defense but there is a little bit of me that is still not convinced.

His TD-INT #s are obviously are great but there were games and throws where he was extremely lucky to not have thrown picks. The ball just seemed to bounce all the right ways for him. And to a degree all QBs who have great seasons have this sort of luck but again makes me hesitant. I would love to see him lead the team next year with Maclin hopefully back and a better defense. I think we lose tomorrow night but this run sets us up really well for a possible SB run next season.

Chip's excellent use of the RBs and limiting the dependence on the QB doing everything also made me realize that we probably would have won a SB or two in McNabb's prime if Reid had been replaced. Westbrooke, like McCoy under Reid, was criminally under utilized in the running game. We had a stellar defense, Westbrook, and McNabb. Needed Chip :(

They would still go to the Superbowl site but they wouldn't go to the game. They would give the tickets to some lucky employee or their family while they stay back in the hotel and bang some young bitches or prostitutes.

The prostitution and porn industry couldn't handle the hit if the rich people stopped going to the Superbowl. Between that and the NBA All Star game that is like 30% of their annual revenue.

The NFL stated they would move the Super Bowl in case of a huge snow storm. There was an entire gaf thread on the topic. Though I did not see it discussed here. People were probably too busy debating the greatness of chipotle versus other Mexican food, or something.

On a gaming note...is New Mario 3D Land supposed to be this easy?

With my two nephews I beat the game in 1 day/night. We didn't get all the green stars from each level and I am assuming we missed out on tons of secrets but it just seemed really really easy and short.

Galaxy games seemed far tougher. I feel like this game is missing some of that magic. But man Mario finally in HD is awesome.

Well at least I know I'm not the most miserable human being in this thread. Thanks!

We've talked about it here. I think most people (including myself) were in favor of Snow Bowl whereas only a couple of people were in the "YOU CAN'T LET WEATHER DECIDE THE GAME!" camp

Yes, however the game gets significantly harder in the post game, but only then I only remember having issues around level the second world 7.

I gave up on beating the secret level.
