NFL Offseason Thread |OT3| The Long Wait

The Heat can't play much better than they did in the first half. The Spurs did not play their best ball in the first half and they were only down by 5.

Miami is in trouble. Anyone watching the game and with a human brain (sorry reptiles) can see that.

It doesn't mean it is over, but if they don't win on Sunday I could really see that house of cards begin to fold.

Will you cry if Miami wins?

He's already better than Kobe so it depends on who you think is better of the two (Kobe or lebron)
Except Kobe and PJ usually got the better of Duncan when they played. Kobe was always a Spurs killer.

That said Duncan and Kobe are the class of the last generation. I can't really argue too much with anyone who says they think TD is better or vice versa.

I never liked Kobe due to him forcing the Hornets to trade him, I hate any player that thinks he is bigger then the sport. I do respect the hell out of Kobe's game though. He was a great player and he totally had that killer instinct that the true greats have.

I am a Lakers fan so take this all with a grain of salt, but in addition to being a winner I think he was one of the most exciting players of all time.

You literally did not know what was going to happen when he was on the court.

Sometimes his willingness to attempt low percentage shots would kill us, but of course no one ever voiced those complaints when they went in or were the reason he won a game. That is the main difference between Kobe and LeBron. Bron won't take a tough shot like Kobe would with the game on the line, he would instead pass to the wide open teammate. Some people will say that is the right play and others will say passing to Chris Bosh for a 3 point shot with the game on the line is the cowards way out.

I was just thinking that if Lebron loses to an old team like the Spurs and goes 1-3 in the finals, he has about 7-8 seasons to win 3 more rings to even be in the discussion of greatest players. And you'd also have to consider that he's peaking RIGHT NOW and that it's downhill from here. I honestly think you can forget about him ever being considered better than MJ. If people remember Lebron as being better than Larry Bird, he's done well.

It worked out well for your hate that Eli is in your division huh?

I was gonna say that you all need to chill out.

429/529 is also the weirdest pricing model I've seen. $399/$499 would be a lot more believable.
With the (intentionally) weakening yen, I wouldn't be surprised to see $399 at all. 429 only makes sense if it's the number from ~6 months ago.

(likewise, a $250 WiiU relaunch)

Fear of a GAF Planet
I'm already trying to figure out how to convince my wife to let my invest in a gaming PC.

B..b..but all of the MS defenders keep telling me that the XBone policies are just like Steam policies. There is no escape!

Seriously, the price differential between a launch console and a mid range gaming pc is going to be < $200. And for that you get an open platform, cheaper games, more versatility and the ability to cruise the internet for porn shoes and purses!

I like paying for PS+ right now so if they offer more of that, where do I sign?

I hope that Netflix and online gaming is free though. They can stick everything else behind a paywall and people won't care.

Oh and I'd easily pony up a bunch of cash monthly if it meant a Netflix type game streaming service.

Sony is going to do the same thing as MS but they are going to have a bunch of exclusives I want. I'll probably buy a PS4 and I'll probably hate myself for it, at least partially.

Stupid interests. Stupid industry.

I'm super hyped for e3 this year, probably one of the most hyped I've been.

Yeah in all my years of following the industry this is probably the most excited I have ever been. I expect Nintendo to have so great games to show at their E3 direct, Sony is going to have a ton of PS4/vita games to show, and MS is going to 12 new unannounced XB1 games. This is going to be an E3 for the ages.

Brent saying good things

"It's over and done with. I was at fault," Favre said, per the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. "I feel that both sides had a part in it. If you could go back would I or them have done things differently? I'm sure both sides would. But you can't."

...

"Aaron has said some very nice things," Favre said. "He and I have a good relationship. I had a chance to present an award with him at the Super Bowl and that was for real. It wasn't for show. And so I think everything will be fine."

Favre said he had no idea when a reunion would happen.

"As time goes, it heals a lot of things," he said. "So the things that transpired that led to us 'breaking up' if you will, to me, are over and done with. When will (the jersey retirement) happen? I don't think either side is trying to push the issue. ...I think both sides are genuine. I know they are. And that's the way it has to come across because that's the way it should be. We don't want to go out there waving to the crowd with our backs to each other. And I don't think that's going to happen."

also, hubbub

That's why NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reported back in May that there wouldn't truly be a quarterback competition. That's how the offseason has played out, and wide receiver Greg Little now has made his case for Weeden.

"I just feel like it's always been Brandon's job," Little told the Akron Beacon-Journal on Thursday. "He's always done the right things as a quarterback, and he's taken his position to another level as far as being very outspoken and just being a leader, being the first guy in the building and being the last guy out. And I think he commands respect now."

Should make you guys happy (except for BG, who will never love). He's doing all the off the field stuff you want

"He (Upshaw) understands the defense exceptionally well," Harbaugh said, per the Carroll County Times. "He's working really hard, (but) Courtney's weight issue -- which he does need to lose some pounds -- is that he doesn't eat right."

Upshaw is up to 285 pounds after playing at 272 in 2012.

It's not unusual for a coach to take the chance publicly to get on a player early in the offseason. Harbaugh likely wanted to make sure his linebacker wouldn't rest on the laurels of winning a Super Bowl and wanted to nudge him out of bad habits sooner rather than later.

"Courtney eats too much, and he doesn't eat all the right foods," Harbaugh said. "He knows that's something that he's going to have to get a handle on or he's not going to be the best he can be. He's aware of it. We have everybody in our building involved in it. He'll be in fighting shape. I promise you that."

Worstbaugh got rid of Boldin, Reed, and Pollard to solidify his power. Now he's using it

I love Roddy so much. He and Megatron pretty much got me to the championship game in my fantasy league last year.

I'm already trying to figure out how to convince my wife to let my invest in a gaming PC.

You should try wearing some of these in your household. That would help immensely.

Me too bro! What's awesome is we win either way. PS4 comes out with awesome games, a great price and no drm, it will be fantastic. If they don't we can bask in the armageddon that will be Gaming side and enjoy all the salt and tears :)
