NFL Offseason Thread |OT3| The Long Wait

It's like Americans complaining about gasoline prices.

Netherlands - Price per gallon of gasoline: $9.09
German land - Price per gallon of gasoline: $7.96
Canada - Price per gallon of gasoline: $4.76
'Mericah - Price per gallon of gasoline: $3.29
'Mericah doesn't have the public transportation infrastructure that some of those countries have. Plenty of German cities have rapid transit systems, etc. Here? Yeah. You're lucky if the buses are operating.;)

Veggies and fruits are insane.

Cheaper to just eat Doritos and drink coke all day. SNES was on to something.
Yep, that's where a good chunk of it goes.

OK, I can see how people get banned on gaming side now. There's guys in the Call of Duty reveal thread pretending to know how guns work, and in the face of actual facts are still claiming they know more. Must resist urge to engage trolls.

The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports Josh Gordon is already in Stage 3 of the NFL's drug program and is now one failed drug test away from a one-year suspension.
Gordon's February failed drug test for codeine was his "second strike," suggesting he either failed another drug test before that, or entered the NFL already in the league's drug program. The codeine test vaulted Gordon into Stage 3. As Browns beat reporter Mary Kay Cabot writes, "One more failed test and Gordon's storybook NFL career could be in serious jeopardy." Players suspended for one year under the substance policy can apply for reinstatement after the year is up. For now, Gordon is only suspended for Weeks 1 and 2.
Sometimes the sadness produced by the factory is overwhelming.

Food prices are f'ing ridiculous. Been doing light grocery shopping for the past two weeks (mainly for the kids) as my wife and I have both been working and busy. Now with me being on vacation I decided to stock up since my fridge was looking dangerously like that of a single man who lives off of Ramen noodles.

Between groceries, cleaning supplies and essential bathroom items we spent $320 for what will amount to about two weeks worth of food. This is worst case "oh shit we have nothing to eat and we're out of everything" type of shopping but we average about $150 a week for a family of four. If you want to go organic or non-GMO, it gets even worse.

Hey I have an idea, lets make fuel out of the most basic agricultural ingredient that we make in the US!

Ethanol has ruined everything.

Time to get a new car, the one tire is fine albeit being extremely bald along with 3 other balds. Still dont know why the check engine light is on because i wasnt paying 100 bucks to find out. Found out today that all my ball joints are bad and thats a 1500 dollar fix. This is a 2000 dodge stratus, so yep fuck this car.

Stop being a savage and get yourself some Fishers Fried chicken.

I have no idea what this is

Ethanol hasn't changed a thing (apart from making the subsidies more expensive), it's energy density is basically useless compared to freaking used fish oil.

Corn isn't the expensive part... in fact it's cheaper than shit. That's why nothing has real sugar in it! Fresh fruits/vegetables are the expensive part.

What think are you guys looking forward to hear at E3?
Games. Sony and Nintendo mainly. Hoping for a pleasant surprise from somebody else, but the way the industry is these days I'm not counting on it.

I'm loving that the Saints are using a whole bunch of different fronts.

Rob Ryan was always criticized for trying to use more plays than he had time to install, leading to a lot of confusion in the defensive huddle and blown plays particularly by safeties.

Please give Malcolm Jenkins a lot to do, Rob. The division will love you!

Wienke's point (and the main criticism against corn-derived Ethanol) is that forcing food into fuel-usage is foolish when hunger is a real problem - even domestically.

However, corn prices really haven't budged. In fact, packaged foods are way fucking cheaper than they used to be. Unfortunately, you can't subsist off Oreos and Honey Grahams. But we sure let people buy them with food stamps!

But I drive more in one week than you do in a month, guaranteed.

...what the fuck?

People are making threads bemoaning porn stars that have cancer? I guess this isn't much worse than [Random celebrity I'll never meet and have no close exposure to is _________________], but this is a great way to find people to add to my block list.

Seriously. I just love seeing all the different genres on new hardware even if they end up playing exactly the same.

Whether or not they actually improve physics in the sports games.
Remember how bad Madden 06/07 were for 360/PS3?

I hope I'm wrong, but I don't expect anything except for a new coat of paint for at least another year.

Madden has no competition. Hard to imagine it getting better. I am more interested in FIFA and PES.

It really feels like all the Sony fans on GAF were hiding for the last three years, waiting for this chance to come up for air. :jnc

I'm excited for Watch Dogs, but I'm sure I'll be disappointed with half-baked mechanics a la Assassin's Creed 3.
