No joke, 1mb down was the fastest available internet for me at my house until about 2 months ago. Now I get 5 down. Wooooo...... sigh

Thats insane. Most 3G on phones is faster than that. And LTE (even shit AT&T LTE) shits all over that.

Can you even stream decent video at 5 Mbit?

My wife is looking at new homes for us, and one of my few requirements is that it has a space for me to make the bossest office of all time (which will also be my room to get the fuck away to watch sports and play games) and a place that has a kickass net connection. Hoping for FIOS but we have limited availability of that in PA. Verizon somehow decided that people don't need 100 mbit internet speeds. At worst I will be back with Comcast, but even that is decent. I should stop complaining after seeing your speeds...

lol, yes. I was able to stream HD content even at 1mb.

My tiny little provider has started laying fiber but I have not yet consented to let them onto my land and I'm not sure if I will. Technically they don't need it but...they need it.

Quick update:

My mom was taken off the ventilator today, she is awake and talking. She is very tired but seems to be putting up a very good fight. Still has to have a machine to help her kidneys function but everything seems to be improving.

I'm going to go see her after I get off work but my wife (a RN) seems optimistic so that's good.
