Congrats to elite QB Matt Stafford for making it to #76 on The Top 100!

The media (and fans to a certain extent) have not been giving Stafford his dues in terms of hype. The 2011 Pro Bowl had fans picking Eli Manning over Stafford, when Stafford was better in every statistical category including wins.

The media constantly hypes up RGIII and Colin over Stafford because they happen to play for franchises that have bigger fanbases and bigger markets, despite Stafford being the same age as them and having played for a longer period of time with better statistics.

As long as he continue with his 5,000 yard seasons plus 30 TD Average a year, those opinions will change. He's quarterbacking for the Lions so its going to take some time to reverse the natural doubts most people have about our franchise.

Titus Young was arrested for the third time in a week.

For the third time in a week, former Lions wide receiver Titus Young is in trouble with the law.

Young was arrested around 11:30 p.m. Friday in San Clemente, Calif. after police say he broke into a home on the 3700 block of Calle Casino, according to Lt. Joe Balicki of the Orange County Sheriff's Department.

When officers arrived at the home, Young fled on foot, and after a brief pursuit, he fought with the officers, Balicki said Sunday.

"There was a brief struggle," he said. "He wanted to fight with the deputies. They ended up subduing him."

Young has been charged with burglary, assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest. As of 1 p.m. Sunday, he was still in custody with bail set at $75,000.

Neither Young nor the officers were injured in the struggle, Balicki said.

Young also was arrested twice in a span of less than 15 hours last Sunday in Moreno Valley, Calif. After police say he made an illegal left turn into oncoming traffic at 12:01 a.m., he was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

At 2:22 p.m. the same day, Young was charged with burglary after he was seen jumping the fence of an impound lot to look for his black Ford Mustang, police said.

The Lions drafted Young out of Boise State in the second round of the 2011 NFL Draft, but released him in February after numerous behavioral issues.

You're always right on time. Never change.

It's Sunday and I'm off work, I had a long 6 days so I thought I'd preach the Book of Matthew to the nonbelievers. Can't wait for this season to start and Stafford continues to prove the naysayers wrong.

What the fuck is he doing?! Does he have serious brain damage or what?

Getting arrested 3 times in a week is a cry for help. I think I said it last week but he needs serious help. He's a hell of a football talent and was a key player as a rookie in our solid 2011 season. Don't know whats going on in his life, but some of his former coaches and teammates from Boise St., Detroit and his high school team need to reach out and help him (which I'm sure some have).

Has nothing to do with fan bases or else Alex smith wouldn't have constantly been raped by the media throughout his career. Stafford is a good qb on a bad team. An elite qb would make a bad team good

That's fair and you are probably right. Don't know Eagles history, but thought Dawkins over McNabb seemed wrong

I was going to go with Van Brocklin over Dawkins, but I thought there needed to be at least one representative from the last 10 years.

I think Dawkins deserves to be on Mt. Rushmore over McNabb. Dawkins was the best at his position in this league for a long time. He was the leader of the defense and is the player that will be remembered as the face of the contending Eagles of the 2000s. He is also on the 1st team all-decade team at the position of Safety.

McNabb was a great quarterback, but Dawkins was a Hall of Fame player at his position.

k. Doesn't mean McNugget doesn't make it.

I have 4 spots.

Locked
Bednarik
Van Buren
Reggie White

Hall of Fame Players:
Tommy MacDonald
Norm Van Brocklin

Lock for Hall of Fame:
Brian Dawkins

Great Tier:
Donovan McNabb

If it wasn't Benarik, Van Buren, White, and Dawkins, I would replace Dawkins with Van Brocklin. McNabb is probably 7th on my list to be on Eagles Mt. Rushmore.

Katherine Heigl might be damn annoying, but I forgot how cute she is.

Yeah, I would consider letting her buy me a diner.

Yeah he needs help, but for him to get it he needs to pull his head out of his ass. If there are still people willing to help him after his self-destruction tour, he needs to let them help him.

Those are the positives and negatives of being QB in a huge market like San Francisco. You have a bad year, they'll eat you alive but if you have even a decent year you're the saviour.

Stafford made a bad team good in 2011. 2012 had us experience setbacks in terms of injuries, referee calls, defense producing no turnovers and lack of a running game.

Give the guy some time. He took over the worst team in NFL history at the age of 21.

Dude is spiraling.

I'm convinced at this point he got hooked on adderall as a stimulant to perform on the field during college or pros and moved on to Meth. That would explain him being in MoVal, California and his erratic behavior. He has probably surrounded himself with friends and dealers from high school and with the money he's made he's started picking up large amounts of meth to sell, but he's also breaking the important rule of "never get high on your own supply".

He's lost a ton of weight and the bags under his eyes tell me he's been binging and is just tired.

Did Boise have close ties to USC?

He's definitely got that look, though. Titus' got the same look that the people I work with who are diagnosed with a mental disorder and are using have. Its not pretty.

but plenty of QB's have led their team to the superbowl within their first 10 games. plus he's only the 2nd highest rated QB in nfl history through that time span so not that great. finally, kap is all we have. we really need to work on getting some more talent on both sides of the ball

He's derek anderson with a better team around him.

What do you mean ties to USC? Titus Young was born and raised in South Central LA and for some reason USC passed up on him during recruiting despite his obvious talent. He's family and connections are all in SoCal, and there would be no reason for him to be in Moreno Valley, CA unless he has family there or he has a drug connect in the area (of which there are numerous). Moreno Valley is a depressing area with absolutely nothing going for it economically or community wise. If he's getting arrested there twice in the same day it is drug related no doubt.

I really would like to know the story of why USC passed up on Titus Young when he was right in USCs' backyard. They probably knew he was surrounded by bad people from the get go.

I love the fact that he fled on foot and got run down by two donut eaters.

Kind of ironic he burned Richard Sherman for a 70 yard bomb this past season, when we beat the Seahawks at home, after Sherman was talking shit about Megatron. I guess Titus Young had the higher dosage Adderall pill that day.

He's derek anderson with a better team around him.

:jncccc I know you're not serious but thanks for the laugh.

Just some Cheatin' Pete humor.

The only statistical category that mattered in 2011:

Oh and 15 4th quarter touchdowns, 7 come back wins to drag a mediocre team to the playoffs. People will give Stafford his due when he wins anything of consequence. Has he even won a playoff game?

Whatever, hard to care about any of that when your stadium is covered in banners.

I passed through Martinsburg on vacation once, and it was pretty comical how much of a cliche it was. This was like 20 years ago, but all the houses looked beaten down, and everyone at the gas station I stopped at had messed up teeth. It was like their wasn't a dentist in their little crooked corner of the state
West Virginia fans were famous for spitting on opposing benches during basketball game until the 80s. Apparently at some point, opposing teams started bringing umbrellas.

this makes no sense at all. infact, partially the opposite. the 49ers are home to 2 of the greatest QB's in NFL history and they both played for the team in recent history. so, every qb who takes a snap for us is compared to those guys. even if you have a pro bowl season (jeff garcia) the fanbase as a whole is still down on you most of the time and will always compare you to joe montana and steve young.

what shadow does matt stafford have to live in? rodney pete? scott mitchell?
