I mean, it's a sad turn of events, but what can you do? The team that drafted him was stacked, it came down to him or Westbrooks, and he was always gonna lose that. The cut was completely football-related, both were good, but they couldn't keep both.
The only thing that would be anger-worthy would be if nobody claimed him. But even if that happens, the Rams will probably bring him back for the practice squad. Come Week 1, he will be on some team in some form, and only if he's not will real outrage be warranted.
They had no interest in him in the draft, he is not a good scheme fit.

I could see that. Unless he decided he wanted to go up to Canada and get some play time. Then I could see outrage happening regardless of what he says.

I don't see how. Why are teams going to scramble to pick up an undersized Defensive End or a project pass rush only linebacker?

For some reason Melvin Gordon has been on the sidelines this entire half, until he came in last series on a fantastic blitz pickup (when McEvoy shit himself and threw the ball away without a defender within 5 yards of him)

Sucks for Sam but I don't think he'll had a long career. Too slow, too small. He's a hard worker though, maybe he could become a LB but that would take time.
