What a boneheaded play... it would've taken a long bomb just to get it back to the screen.

ESPN's Sunday Night Football graphics are slick.

Also, let me state that...

The trading of Portis was a BONEHEAD move. No matter what they think in Denver, you just dont replace a guy like that. I'm not denying that Bailey is a great asset, and who knows.. maybe the pick they received (and chose Tatum Bell) with will work out. However, at the time... POOR MOVE!

A little late but.....

Well we managed to get the win, but I'm not too comfortable with our performance at all. Looks like we can shut up with the talk of Vick not being comfortable with this "West Coast" offense. The first half of the game pretty much proved that Vick can be very effective with this new offense as long as he gets some time to throw the ball. Warrick Dunn and Crumpler looked excellent. Rush defense was also ok for the most part.

Now for the problems:

1) Offensive Line/Pass Protection - Got to be the worst in the league. Did the offensive line and cooridnator look at any tape from the preseason? People still getting into the backfield untouched and Vick is still having to run for his life the majority of the time. It doesn't make sense how terrible we are picking up the blitz. This is ultimately going to be our downfall this season.

2) Pass Defense - Terrible. What the hell was with all those passes in the middle to the tight end? Our pass defense made Dorsey look like a veteran out there.

These are two major problems that we need to fix right away. #2 is especially important because the Rams will light our asses up with passing next week.

*GO VIKINGS*

They ruled. I only caught the first half and a little of the 3rd quarter, but it was all I needed to see. It's crazy, they don't have to whore Moss to have a successful offense and I like what I'm hearing about Moss maturing.

I think this could go to like 8 teams.

Shawn Andrews out for the season Eagles fans.

http://www.philly.com/mld/philly/9647622.htm

FUCK FUCK FUCK...The guy looks like a good talent. What is it about our top lineman pics that causes them to get injured early in the year for the whole year?

Shawn Andrews' first season as a professional football player ended in less than two quarters.

The rookie right guard, Philadelphia's first-round draft pick out of Arkansas, will miss the remainder of the season with a right fibula fracture. Coach Andy Reid said Andrews will undergo surgery and backup Artis Hicks will continue to fill in.

Andrews, a 6-foot-4, 340-pounder, broke his leg on a 3-yard run by running back Brian Westbrook.

The injury is similar to the one that has sidelined Jamal Green, Reid said.

Losing Andrews is a blow to the Eagles offensive line, Reid said.

"I thought he was doing a heck of a job," Reid said. "He sure is talented and he's got a good attitude and I know he's going to work like crazy to get back next year."

Andrews had showed enough promise to earn a starting job as a rookie, which is not common for offensive lineman. The Eagles had high hopes for Andrews, trading a first- and second-round pick to the 49ers in order to take Andrews with the 16th pick.

Andrews lay on the field wincing in pain for several minutes, while Reid stood over him. He was carted off the field and taken immediately for X-rays.

The loss of Andrews adds extra strain on the line. Hicks is already listed as a backup at both left tackle and left guard. Last week, the Eagles brought in guard Steve Sciullo.

"It's disappointing," Jon Runyan said. "Not only are we losing him but we're losing depth. It kind of messes with our depth. It happens, but we have other guys here who can do the job."

Reid said there was a possibility of bringing in another lineman. "We'll keep our eyes open," he said.

Andrews was looking forward to spending the weekend with his mother, who flew in from Arkansas on Saturday, and making his debut as an Eagle protecting quarterback Donovan McNabb.

He had overcome health concerns to earn his spot. He had ballooned to nearly 400 pounds in college before undergoing nasal surgery on polyps and dropping more than 50 pounds.

I completely disagree with you. I think Portis might be a top eight back, MAYBE, outside of Denver. Bailey is the top cover corner in the league. Orlandis fucking Gary and Mike Anderson ran for 1,500 in Denver, it's not the players. And, yeah, Portis had a pretty good day today against a neutered Tampa defense. Let's see how he does over the season. There's no way to convince me yet that Denver didn't steal this trade.

(Not to mention the fact that Portis wasn't going to play if he wasn't made the highest paid back in the NFL, which he in no way deserved. Even in Denver he was the fourth or fifth best runner in the league)

Well, I guess that well find out over the next season or two. To me, Portis just did the same things in Washington today that he did in Denver last season. Busted out, and if he flew through the LB's.. he had a good chance of beating the DB's to the endzone. He's just so fast.

I cant express how happy I am that we got Bailey. God I love our Defense now.

Q is doing great, Watts made that lovely catch. Plummer is doing great.. God I love my Broncos :D

tmdorsey, gg by the falcons. i can call it luck on your part or stupid mistakes on our part or whatever, but a win is a win. one thing i did see in your team that you should be worried about is the coaching. i've lived with mora/knapps bullshit playcalling the past few years, and i saw it again here for the falcons. they get the lead, then they play "mooch" ball. that is how we got back into the game, your offense played like garbage in the second half. and not because it didn't execute, but the playcalls were very bad.

i wasn't surprised we contained vicks running because our LB's are very fast. julian peterson was in vicks face all game long. i felt the turning point of the game came after we blocked that punt, and barlow fumbled on the next play. that or the fucking stupid throw by rattay on the goalline. barlow gets a 20 yard run to get it to first and goal at the 3, and then you do 3 straight passes? run that shit up the middle 4 times until you blast it in. not having fred beasley in there hurt us a lot.

meh, it's a disappointing loss but i want to get this shit out of our system early in the season. i was surprised at how well dorsey played. this was his first official pro game, and he tore the falcons defense up even in the face of heavy blitzing. i dont know who should start next week (cause Rat redeemed himself in the end), but i liked what i saw out of our team even in the loss.

p.s. look @ eric johnsons stats. 8 catches, 90 yards and a TD. remember i told you ladies he was going to put up stats when i drafted him for our fantasy league! who's laughing now!? oh right, falcons fans :(
