boo disappointing game by the ravens. Flacco is a fricking moron. It's not even that he fucked up the pass at the end, what I'm pissed about is how Troy was at the line of scrimmage like 9 times and made a play every time. That fumble at the end could have easily been avoided. I mean is it not fucking odd that Troy is all the way up their? The one person you have to watch on the steelers every time before and after the snap.

Flacco pisses me the fuck off. He's a fucking moron but he has a cannon. Steelers deserved to win that game. Our D looked good like always. The one time we could have won the division and we were playing steelers at home and we fucked up. Wildcard here we come.

I didn't get it, personally. The guy was averaging 12 yards a carry on 8 carries and he was just sat down. Bradshaw took over and was picking up 1-3 yards for the remainder of the game. I honestly think the team wanted to make sure that Bradshaw got his 1000 for the season. Which is nice of them in the end and I guess if you're going to do that - it might as well be in a game against an opponent you've dominated.

As for the game, it's hard to be displeased with 31-7.:)

Carl Banks wasn't as happy this morning about some of the things he saw during his usual Joe and Evan spot. He made some good points. One in particular that stuck with me was the run defense. I said the Jacksonville game was the anomaly but when you take into account the big runs by Mccoy, MJD tearing us up on the ground and yesterday the Skins who technically only put up 74 yards but then they were forced into passing fairly early on when the game got out of control.

Some of the cutback runs they had on us were problematic and effective. It's frustrating because this team took care of one of the best cutback runners in the game right now in Arian Foster earlier in the season. The Texans run a similar zone scheme. They also did a good job of controlling Chris Johnson for most of the Titans game despite the fact that he had an insane carry total. So we know they can play sound run defense. It's something they need to fix this weekend for AP.

I think I posted it earlier but over the past two games, JPP's stat line:

11 Tackles
4 sacks
2 Forced Fumbles
1 pass defended
1 interception

The best was Tuck commenting on JPP with a half-smile:

"I taught him everything he knows."

"We kind of gave him a hard time when he didn't have any (sacks)," Tuck said. "I asked him, 'With you being the 15th pick, when are we going to get our investment out of you?'"

"Four sacks in two games and he’s all over the place," Tuck said. "Even when he’s not sacking quarterbacks, he’s in their face. You can tell how much he’s listened and how much he wants it. You can tell he wants it."

The Polomalu play was more Oher's fault than Flacco's. Oher concentrated entirely on James Harrison instead of shifting and that let Troy have a free shot at the qb. Considering that Harrison is nearly unblockable most of the time maybe that is where we should start lining up Troy instead of having him try to go up the middle or right side.

And while everyone is going to blame the coaching I actually agreed with the Ravens decision to throw at the end of the game. If they another first down or two the game is essentially over.

coaching was fine. just get the offense gellin and the team will be a good balanced team.

I would have rather take my chances running to get the first down than throwing it. Worse case scenario, they don't make it, punt the ball and make yall have to drive the field with around 2 mins to go.

I think there's no doubt in my mind he's going in the first round. If Tebow and Pat White can go 1/early 2nd respectively, Newton can go in the 1st. I've watched way too much college football this year, well football in general, it's sad just thinking about it, but I think he's as good as V.Young was in his Junior year.
 
bad ass steelers vs ravens game. i hate rapistburger but i hate flacco more. damn did rapistburger take a beating, guys a monster though.

Steelers actually called a total run blitz with no safety support on that play. If the Ravens pick up the blitz then Flacco probably gets a TD or a huge completion on that play. Passing was the right call against the Steelers defense they just fucked up the execution.
 
best case scenario: patriots lose 220-0, tom brady gets injured so badly (but not in a life threatening way) that he can never play football again.

I know it CAN happen, since I referenced the Tebow debacle in my own post, but it would be stupid. :P I know guys get huge hype from bowl game performances, but Cam has more competition than VY had in his draft class.

Man, I can't believe what a dumbass McDaniels has been (just wish KC kept Herm!). Teebs better play next year.

Listen, there's fandom for one's favorite team, trash talking against a rival, hyperbole about what the "facts" are, ect. Yet that comment, I cannot abide. How can you stoop to that level? To wish something like that on a franchise and fanbase, even a rival one. That's the most despicable and downright nasty thing I've ever read in this thread, and I read all the Steelers fan's posts.

I don't want Brady injured at all. I do want him beaten up and harassed and visually frustrated. I want him to make stupid decisions that lead to good things for the Jets. Most of all, I want him to be around to see us celebrate the victory.
 
Best case scenario:

- Jets win 30 - 20. The Greene/Tomlinson combination rushes for 140 yards and 2 TDs (1 rushing by Greene, and one receiving by LDT). Sanchez throws for 260+ yards, 3 TDs (1 to LDT, one to Holmes, and one to Keller) and 1 INT against a questionable NE secondary. Sanchez is sacked only once.

- Brady is injured in the 3rd quarter on a crushing sack - one of three - by the Jets' defensive line. The Jets' d-line creates pressure and blitzes with Revis where they couldn't before in the Week 2 matchup (as Revis was hurt/out). Brady is sacked by Gholston, Pryce and Pace. He will miss the next two games. In this game, he throws for less than 250 yards, 2 TDs and 1 INT.

- Branch and Hernandez are rendered irrelevant. Gronkowski and Welker do all the scoring/receiving for the Pats - 1 TD each. Woodhead rushes for 40+ yards, but fumbles once and turns the ball over. The legend of little white people in Boston ends temporarily.

- Rex eats a goddamn snack.

- Fans in Boston consider this irrelevant because they're the Pats, they act like they've been there before, and they know they'll get in the playoffs anyway. They'll lick their wounds and act like they don't care because the Celtics are good and the fawking Sawx got Adrian Gonzalez.

- KSK is epic on Tuesday afternoon.

There's certainly competition, but Young had some as well. Pretty sure there were 3 QBs taken in the 1st, may be forgetting someone, including the golden child Matt Leinart.

Newton's intriguing, not sure what to think, sample is small as well. His arm strength is good when he's throwing it, and accuracy is there (not out of this world but it's there). Auburn's run game is off the charts, makes his throws a lot easier.

If you're going to draft him and expect production right away, or dropback QB that can read a D at high level, you're kidding yourself. You have to design your offense around him, at least to start. Which means incorporating a lot of two back options, QB Power-O/Sweeps out of gun. Who wants to do that with a 1st round QB who has 30m guaranteed (rookie salary cap aside)? No one is going to give him money and then put his body through the NFL meat grinder.

Wish I saw Freeman play in college, know he had a bazooka, just to compare decision making between the two. No way Freeman played with a run game designed as well as Auburn's though.

also, the running passing stuff is typical cliche reasoning. the pats have a terrible pass defense, and sanchez is now below average, not terrible. the jets are going to have to do stuff through the air if they want to have a chance of winning, unless they totally shut down the pats offense, which seems unlikely.

Which is why I say they need to keep it on the ground: time of possession. Say what you will about Brady, but his completion rate is stellar and Sanchez won't be able to keep pace. Instead of trying they should keep it on the ground and rely on their screen game. The Pats' pass defense is weak, but the offense is pretty damn productive and the last thing the Jets can afford is giving Brady the opportunity to jump to an early lead. No team can hold on to the ball by dinking and dunking like the Pats.
 
Any team that takes Newton in the 1st is going to regret it. I have watched Auburn a few times this year and their passing attack seems even more basic then what Florida did with Tebow. I would also worry about the league saying they want to punish players that break the rules in college. Once the national championship game is over Newton is going to get hammered.
 
I don't think any of his peers could take him seriously after that punk'd thing.

But can he play the QB position at the NFL level? No one cares about any of this other shit. He or his father may have broken some rules while playing amateur football, all of which have nothing to do with the NFL. Only thing that matters is can he actually play at a high level in the NFL.

Sam Bradford ran some pretty simple shit in college too, simple/easy reads but damn effective if you're accurate and can read a D. Mesh, mesh, mesh, shallow dig concept, mesh, mesh, mesh, shallow post dig, mesh, mesh....until you're blue in the face.

Skeleton has a huge arm or so they say.

I just meant that if a team takes him in the first and then he gets a long suspension it could really fuck his first year up.

I don't think he needs 10 days to do it, his opening gameplan Thanksgiving night against the Bungles was comical. Like he had to use certain plays in the playbook before they expired.

Yeah, but I don't think he can be suspended by the NFL, he didn't violate any of their rules. Don't think an NFL player has ever been suspended for breaking an NCAA rule.
