Speaking from experience, the Jags won't let you stop watching until 3 or 4 minutes are left in the game. That's how all their games are:)

I know, they are evil motherfuckers!

Jags are desperate here, interesting to see how the Steelers respond.

Big Ben=Trent Dilfer 2.0

and was that a Troy Walters sighting? Didn't he have a ton of hype coming out of college, always wondered what happened to him.

Now we just play Spoiler for the rest of the season. Time to make the yearly "MiG Bandwagon AFC pick"

Can't root for the Colts, obviously, and DAMN the Patriots. I'm going to put my money down on Boy Wonder Ben Rothelisberger with Cheese.

Bucs finally have a kicker who can kick! And "Slash II" got shut out? Yikes.

goddamit, Griese!
This game has just set the single game NFL record for the most times using the solo from Freebird in one telecast.

that penalty on 3rd down was bull. he missed!

True, but the Jags have pretty much outplayed us. I don't think we got close to Leftwich on any third down. They dominated our Defensive front all night long. Still, their kicker has been shit all night, if we can force a FG he might correct that bad call. :D

the espn announcers were fellating the steelers all night.

You've gotta be kidding me. On the steelers first TD drive all I heard was joe telling us how the Jags were stuffing every play. Then after they score, he narrates a highlight package telling me how impressive the plays were. That's when they did manage to squeeze something about the steelers in between repeating over and over how this was the Jags playoff game. And Fred Taylor is the most awesome runner of all time with his 2.9 average but Duce, who's averaging 3.1 on 10 fewer carries, should go sit in favor of the Bus. Whatever. These guys suck pure cow balls at announcing.

Finally! Another Steeler fan!

Solid game by the Steelers. I was impressed because they somehow found a way to win a game they really didn't deserve to win. Jags pretty much dominated the line of scrimmage on both side of the ball. Considering that is our strong point, I am just happy we got out of there with a win. I don't know what the fuck happened on our 3rd down defenses, we weren't getting anywhere near their qb. And our offensive line needs to pick it up, there are times where we totally fall apart against the blitz and sometimes 2 or 3 guys come through untouched.

the announcers were jocking the SHIT out of big ben. they were also jocking fred taylor ("It has been a TREAT to watch fred taylor run tonight!")

anyways, did anyone else think it was a dumb move to spike that ball by the steelers? it was 2nd and 1, you could have run it and gotten the first, then let the clock run down and spike. or, even if you didn't make the 1st, you could let the clock run and spike. the jags came inches away from winning that ballgame because of bad clock management. i understand you want to have confidence that your D can make a stop w/ 17 seconds left and only 1 timeout for the other team, but you dont leave jack shit to chance in the nfl. the steelers were lucky as hell the jags didn't have 5 more yards of field position, because if they did that FG would have squeezed just inside the right upright and they would have gone home losers. as it turned out that DIDNT happen, but bad clock management is going to cost them down the road if they dont learn from that

LOL fmt. rattay was trash today, wtf happened? hes usually a pretty decent passer. And you should be ashamed for letting the rams shut down your rushing game.

Thanks for ruining our season tho. Who knows if we'll get bulger back this year. Now we have to play against carolina with chrissy chandler. :(

the NFC is completely fucked up. there's a ton of 5-7 teams now (at least one of which has to get to the playoffs), the west is horrible and it looks entirely possible that they will have to go with those crazy ass playoff tie rules that make my head explode just to figure out who gets the last spot.

Yeah.....those phantom penalties really had me fired up too. But, the Jags played awesome in their passing game. It's a great sign though that, after a few weeks of the offense not playing well, when the pass D has a bad game, Big Ben can march down the field hitting plays to Lee Mays (who I was ready to can before the game was even over) and Willie Parker believe it or not. Losing the time of possession battle was scary, but they came up with the plays when they needed them again. Can't wait till Plax comes back.

Hard to notice though between more footage and talk of Leftwich being carried down the field by his teammates for the millionth time (who hasn't seen this by now?) or Suzy cutting in to tell me how he fights with his brother. Gee, thanks Suze. Where's Namath when you need him?

I didn't care for the final play calls at all. On 2nd and 1 I go for the first with a run or a sneak by Ben. If they get it, then spike. Then, because Ben was hot on that drive, I go for the 6 and try to end the game there. And if you're going to kick the FG there, then don't use a god damn squib kick afterwards. Kick it deep. They got the ball on the 39, hell, might as well just have kicked the ball out of bounds.

why would a current 5-7 team have to make it? we're currently 6-6, and we hold the last spot, pending the hawks game tomorrow. if we beat carolina next week, i think you should start to see some seperation of the playoff teams
