Plummer Inspired by Tillman's death......

He wants to continue the piano lessons he started as a child or maybe take up guitar. He's become such an avid handball player that he has set his sights on competing in an Idaho tournament for the top competitors in the state this summer. There will be a couple of road trips as well, though at this point he's not saying what his destinations are.

What a fucking joke! He is saying how inspired Tillman's death was to him, so he starts playing handball? What did 9-11 inpire him to do? Take up Tiddliwinks? SI is becoming more and more of a joke every year.

Theories on the title change:

1) Wasabi is still pissed about week 4.
2) Bish is still pissed about Steve Francis.
3) Mike is still pissed about Steve Francis.
4) Hitokage is still pissed about the Texans beating the Panthers last year.

A few more tough picks this week.

Arizona at Buffalo, 1:00 pm - Only because the Bills are at home
Baltimore at Philadelphia, 1:00 pm
Cincinnati at Tennessee, 1:00 pm
Detroit at Dallas, 1:00 pm - Detroit can't lose on the road. :lol
Green Bay at Washington, 1:00 pm - Packers Against the Re-Election of the President
Indianapolis at Kansas City, 1:00 pm
Jacksonville at Houston, 1:00 pm - The hardest pick of the week. But the Jags keep finding ways to win.
N.Y. Giants at Minnesota, 1:00 pm - The Giants always seem to cause the Vikes fits.
Atlanta at Denver, 4:05 pm
Carolina at Seattle, 4:05 pm
New England at Pittsburgh, 4:15 pm
Oakland at San Diego, 4:15 pm
San Francisco at Chicago, 8:30 pm - Right now, I would pick my university's softball team against the Bears.
Miami at N.Y. Jets, 9:00 pm

Last Week: 8 - 6

Season: 57 - 29 (pretty damn fine record if I do say so myself)

5) There's a moderator out there who supports the Jags and felt particularly abusive this afternoon due to a coffee shortage.

A few people have a bit too much faith in Big Ben and the Steelers. No way they're beating the Pats.

A few people have no faith at all. Big Ben always delivers.

Final Score:

Steelers 24 - Pats 23

Steelers win on a last minute field goal after Ben drives the lenth of the field.

I kid. The fact that I pick the Jags consistently to win and most people don't is the only reason that I'm not rank bottom in the No Fun League pick'em. :(

Who'd have thought it would be the Texans game that would be the most worrying AFC South matchup at the start of the season?

Wow, the AFC South has got to be the best division in Football right now.

When your last place team is the TENNESSEE TITANS. That speaks volumes. I know I definitely didn't expect my beloved Jags to be 5-2 at this point:) But to be fair I thought we'd win against Indy at home and lose abroad. Solid win last week.

And btw, Jags will trump Texans in the final minute. It's how we do it!:)

Arizona] at Buffalo, 1:00 pm
Baltimore at Philadelphia, 1:00 pm
Cincinnati at Tennessee, 1:00 pm
Detroit at Dallas, 1:00 pm - For some reason, I think I've picked the boys every week. :?
Green Bay at Washington, 1:00 pm - Ditto for the skins :? :?
Indianapolis at Kansas City, 1:00 pm
Jacksonville at Houston, 1:00 pm - Leftwich stepping up and breaking out this year?
N.Y. Giants at Minnesota, 1:00 pm - I just hate the Giants. They'll probably win.
Atlanta at Denver, 4:05 pm - I'm the #1 Vick fan on here. I'll stab anyone that says otherwise. :p
Carolina at Seattle, 4:05 pm
New England at Pittsburgh, 4:15 pm - [karma]The Patriots are the best team ever, and I'll have sex with Tom Brady's asschin[/karma] Take that Pats. :lol
Oakland at San Diego, 4:15 pm - The game of football loses. :(
San Francisco at Chicago, 8:30 pm
Miami at N.Y. Jets, 9:00 pm - Not really an upset special. This is the time of season where the Fins throw away the #1 pick.

Go Fins! Seems like Wanny is out at the end of the year. LeBatard's been giving him a lot of slack in the Herald lately, but just today he was already discussing the prospects of Spurrier taking the Miami job. O_O Now that would be awesome. As LeBatard said, Gibbs is stumbling right now too, so maybe it's Dan Snyder's fault more than Spurrier's system. With a good draft pick and possibly JJ as GM of the team, that would be insane. Anyway, we have a particularly bitter rivalry with the Jets, with the Jets owning us regularly lately. I think this last win came at a good time for this Jets game. The team might be motivated to show it wasn't a fluke last week. Wanny says the playcalling won't change. He's a fucking moron. I'm so glad his ass will be gone at the end of the season. I think they might step up for this MNF game. We'll see. PEACE.

Some Jags fans are underestimating how hard it is to play in Reiliant Stadium... that place is fucking loud (I should know, season tickets and all). It's going to be a great game. Better shut down Johnson or he'll cream your secondary all day.

The Jets-Miami game will be a ratings grabber for ABC. LOL. Go Fins!

Big Ben may just be the spoiler for the Pats. He's yet to face a team like them and it could actually help him. If the Pats keep getting stupid penalties, it may end at 21. Should be a good game. Potentially the Pats at 4 and then the Sox at 8 if it goes to 7. HAPPY HALLOWEEN.

Tamanon/iapetus: expect a lot of False Start penalties for Jacksonville. :D

Yeah, we heard a lot of that from the Colts, as well. Huge noise in the dome, blah blah. False starts, blah blah. Didn't work for them, did it? The new whisper-training regime seems to be working well enough.

And it's not like we really need to fear your passing attack either. Sure, you have good receivers. But the Colts have Manning throwing to Harrison, Wayne, Stokeley, Pollard and Clark, and nobody has held them to less points this season than we did twice. If anything, where we've had bad games it's been the run that hurt us, particularly the disastrous game against the Chargers where the defence was in total disarray as we struggled to find the solution at DE. Well, we found it, as our dominating performances against two of the best OLs in the NFL show. And unless you can at least partially establish the run, I think we can contain your passing game as well as anyone else.

The big advantage the Texans have over the Colts, of course, is that you have some sort of defence, and that's obviously what might make the difference. If Fred Taylor's following last year's pattern, then things are about to come together on the ground, but we're not going to be able to have our way with you through the air as easily as we were with the Colts. I wouldn't be surprised to see another INT or two on the scoreboard for Leftwich - probably one caused by a dubious pass and one caused by a dubious reception.

My prediction for the game is a 27-21 victory to the Jags, at the end of the day, but I wouldn't be too surprised or disappointed by a loss (and I expected to see a few more people backing the Texans on this one - Vegas odds favour them, even if that is purely through home field advantage, without which the Jags have a 2-point advantage).

Either way, you can do us both a favour by beating the Colts in a fortnight. ;)

Sorry, but Indy fans have nothing on Houston. Roof open, or roof closed, Reliant Stadium is rockin'.

And yes...we actually have a defense, unlike In_y. :p

I expect another low 20s game decided on a last second FG/TD, and obviously...Texans winning :p

Anyway...I can guarantee there will be a few false start penalties to start the game, although the Jags may move to a silent count around the 2nd quarter.

And we'll kick Indy's ass too..., as well as Denver. 6-3 here we come!

Like I say, we've been practicing for crowd noise situations. It's not a problem. I agree with you pretty much on the margin of victory - I'm predicting 27-21. You've just got the winning team wrong. Still, 5-4 is nothing for the Texans to be ashamed of. If you're lucky, you'll get to lose to us again in the playoffs... :D

:lol

Reminds me of Chad Johnson sending gifts to the Browns secondary... and then not doing shit.

Unlike you, my friend, last season hardened me to losses, I shrug em off left and right now. This is only week 8, so the Vikes should still be on an upward swing (downward scheduled to begin next week) so the odds are against us. I will be in the line with Coughlin during the game calling the cheeseball Madden plays I have discovered, so beware.

And Dayne SHOULD NOT be in when they are in the redzone. The dude is a piece of shit with legs.

Big ben will never beat Thomas Brady. He could have the best game of his career and Thomas will still edge him out by a FG. Thats just what he does. And since Ben will more resemble Affleck in Gigli than that stupid Limey clock I say Pats by 14.

"Edge stole Big Ben's helmet"
Game of the week has to be Steelers-Pats. I'm from the 'Burgh and my parents told me that groups are trying to get "Trick or Treat" times pushed back from 6-8 to 730-9 so that they won't have to miss the game. My mom told me there's no way she's giving out candy while the game is on, and I know my dad and sister won't either. It's going to be tough for the Steelers to pull it out, but I have faith, and I'm going to say 24-21 Steelers at home. This is really the only game I care about, again.

Clayton for rookie of the year? Sure he can have it in the NFC, but Big Ben in the AFC, if he continues like this, is having one of the greatest rookie performances ever. Fourth best passer rating in the league as a ROOKIE QUARTERBACK? Wow, you can't discount that.

Tom Brady is the most vile individual I have ever seen play the game of football. He makes OJ Simpson look like a saint. You just look at him and you can see that he is pure evil. He is also a total Nancy Boy (I heard he is dating Kordell Stewart). Tom is easily the most overrated QB of all time, he puts up decent numbers and rides that defense to multiple superbowls. Don't you EVER compare such a vile individual to the a saint like Ben Roethlisberger. Tom Brady had his run, but it ends on Sunday.

That is a foolish and unrealistic goal. Set your sights a little lower on something you might have a realistic shot of reaching. Go for a Bin Laden or a Hitler, Brady just sets the bar a little too high.

ok, i'll make my picks:

Arizona at Buffalo, 1:00 pm
Baltimore at Philadelphia, 1:00 pm - the raven's defense will beat the eagles' offense
Cincinnati at Tennessee, 1:00 pm - maybe carson palmer can go 3-13 instead of 1-15 now
Detroit at Dallas, 1:00 pm
Green Bay at Washington, 1:00 pm - picking this one purely for political reasons (well, and the skins blow this year even with gibbs)
Indianapolis at Kansas City, 1:00 pm
Jacksonville at Houston, 1:00 pm
N.Y. Giants at Minnesota, 1:00 pm
Atlanta at Denver, 4:05 pm
Carolina at Seattle, 4:05 pm
New England at Pittsburgh, 4:15 pm - jinx pick, I hope this causes the pats to lose and big ben teabags tom brady yelling "trick or treat, bitch!"
Oakland at San Diego, 4:15 pm
San Francisco at Chicago, 8:30 pm - it looks like the ESPN schedule of NO GOOD SUNDAY NIGHT GAMES continues
Miami at N.Y. Jets, 9:00 pm

Now I know why Merril Hodge hates the eagles. Tecmo Bowl.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=1910373
Worst road experience: Philadelphia was one of the toughest places I ever played. I remember before one game there was a fan running along the last row of the bleachers screaming profanity after profanity at me! He called me every name in the book with wide receiver Jeff Graham standing right next to me. This guy going off on me for no reason baffled Graham. He looked over at me and asked why this guy didn't like me and I had no answer. A second later the guy answered our question by saying you blankety-blank, you lost Techmo Bowl for me. I turned to him and told him I wouldn't have fumbled in the game if he would quit hitting the spin button. That was the type of place the Vet was for me. Fans would scream and yell at me because of what I did in a video game I had no control over.

Duce you been to the new Eagles Stadium? I hear the fans behave themselves much better then at the Vet. If that is true I wouldn't mind seeing them again, I have been to the Vet twice in my life and the fans are horrible there. I can't imagine other football fans act the same way (though I wouldn't know, only game I have ever seen was at the Vet).

I havent been to the new stadium, I dont live in PA anymore. From what people tell me the crowd at the vet was much much worse. Alot of times its just the luck of the draw, I have been harrased by Cardinals fans at sun devil stadium of all places for cheering on the eagles. If you end up sitting next to the guy or group that wants to start something then just keep your mouth shut and youll be fine.

Dude, you hate Tom Brady like I used to hate Jordan... prepare to be a fan ten years from now. He is the best QB in the league... get used to it, and get used to him being a media darling for the rest of his career.

South Florida sports radio host Anita Marks broadcast her "Chicks on Sports" radio show on WFLL-AM from a Halloween party at the Signature Grand Mansion in Davie, FL., on Monday night.

Miami Dolphin defensive end Jason Taylor attended the proceedings, and dressed up for the costume party as his former teammate Ricky Williams - who had just returned from a trip to Australia.

Marks was Trinity from The Matrix movie, and her radio show co-host Melissa Walker was Cat Woman. Taylor's wife Katina, also pictured, went as Lenny Kravitz.

Yeah I live right in the middle of Bull country and I could never stand the guy either. I dont see where being the best has anything to do with liking someone. A bitch is a bitch and thats what Jordan was.

when I was a kid I liked Jordan a lot more than I do now (I still think he is the second greatest basketball player ever behind Wilt) but that's because I didn't grow up knowing about any of his shit talking or gambling.
