The problem today was Mcnabb and playcalling. Two things that can be corrected. As far as im concerned our defense has played well enough to win IMO. They have contained the run and created turnovers. This was the game to lose. The only issue is having to deal with steeler fans. Im ready for another 7 game win streak.

Thats the way the eagles play defense, i know alot of you guys dont watch them every game so just trust me. They will give up 5 or 6 yards one play and stuff the next two. It has worked all year, we were #1 in points allowed. The problem today was rothesburger converting 3rd downs by moving around in the pocket or running for it. I dont think philly has converted a 3rd down all game and they had quite a few 3 and outs.

yeah, you've squeaked by after allowing big running games, but this is a wakeup call: YOU CANNOT GIVE UP 5 YPC AVERAGE IN THE NFL AND GET TO THE SUPERBOWL! the eagles are proof positive of this statistic. i promise you the eagles wont even MAKE it to the nfc title game if their run D continues this way. they may get away with that "lets not play the run" garbage against the ravens (who have no QB), but when you play a team with any decent amount of weapons you will lose.
Props to the Steelers... you're our rivals... but damn you've been playing great football... gotta give it up to you.

Ok maybe i should have said it another way. Philly contained the run considering the makeup of the team. Steelers were not able to just line up and shove it down our throats all day. The eagles defense prides themselves on stopping 3rd and long. Once we get you to that point thats where we are supposed to shut it down. Steelers converted waaay to many today.
Last year with most of our defensive line out teams ran at will on us. We still made it to the championship where our defense held a grind it out running team to 14 points when our offense was going 3 and out more often than not.
Philly was going to lose a game eventually. I knew the second they did all these people would be coming out of the woodwork talking about how they were exposed. The eagles run defense is never going to completely shut anyone down, especially if they have 40+ carries on us. Thats just the way it is. It does the job though, and it did the job today. We did not lose because of the run defense.

This hurt us more than the run game. When the eagles shut teams down its because they make plays on 3rd. Its as simple as that.
