I guess I really don't know when proper mechanics are supposed to be taught to QBs, but doesn't it seem like college is really late? I mean, the kids have been playing for 10+ years, and dominating their peers that entire time, it seems like someone should have taught him to not side arm the bitch before now.

Some things are easier than others. Throwing motions are really hard to fix. Release angle and foot work are easier.

I wish Sherman was still there, he is a pretty good QB guy, would have loved to see this clown turn out. No idea who that coach is down there now.

He's been working with George Whitfield, who has worked with Tebow and Brady and has a nice little business of convincing rich parents of HS kids that he can turn them into the next Joe Montana

As far as his coach at A&M, was Klingsbury. Now? dunno.

I know that by the time a qb gets into today's NFL, it's way too late. They don't let qb's learn anymore, just throw them in and see what happens. Didn't Rodgers fix some mechanical issues while sitting behind Brett?

Yeah. They had to un-Tedford him. That and help from his buddy Ryan Braun gave him a quick release and tons of velocity

Most people develop their base throwing mechanics before the age of 14. Teaching and small tweaks can be done at later ages, but it's exceedingly difficult to escape early-learned muscle mechanics. The later you start, the harder it can become.

As an aside, a Quarterback's technique is generally pretty similar to what a baseball coach would call an "infield arm." Pitchers and outfielders tend to have drastically different throwing mechanics. There are rare individuals who can do both (and well, to be honest, most elite athletes are already rare individuals) but it's very, very difficult to transition from one style to the other as someone who is very strongly on one side of the fence or the other.

(for reference, as a young adult, I could throw a basetball in the mid 90s in an outfield mechanic, but could only throw low-70s using an infield technique. good infielders can easily hit high 80s, but I could just never master the technique.)

Go Hawks.

Kinda nervous about tomorrow's game but it will be fun. True testament of our potential.

Gotta drive 600 miles today, will be flipping off SF on the way. Eat shit!

Confirmed Tom Heckert has canceled scheduled interview for Jets' GM job. Big concerns about bloated cap. No issue with having Rex as coach.

In related news, employees at the Mall of America are working frantically on a comeback sign in hopes of hanging it up before Saturday's game. It will read "This Is What 409 Yards Looks Like" to remind Packers fans of the damage Peterson has done already in two games against them.

This will be a great rivalry game. Definitely watching it, even if someone gave me a 2012 Best Of Porn blue ray today at 7:30 PM.

Does a couple of hits of some good weed help or hurt watching football? I have a surround speaker setup and find myself (when high) trying to hear what the fans behind me are saying. I hear some pretty funny comments sometimes.

Hey Slo, you coward, do you want to make an avatar bet?

ATTN: French. You're next you disgusting anus licking grandpa.

I would make a bet with RBH but I don't think his joke of a team will make it to the big dance so I'll make a bet with JakNCoke or whatever pathetic Seachickens fan decides to brave the fair weather.

Things have gotten so bad for the Jets that the guy who got run out of town in Cleveland for being an incompetent fool wants nothing to do with this shit organization.

I wonder why Woody is so steadfast on keeping Rex. It's just fucking illogical.

Pumped for tonight. Going to a Japanese Hibachi grill for lunch, then a good dose of playoff football for the afternoon/evening.

fwiw Heckert isn't incompetent. He got run out b/c he had a contract that gave him final say on personnel, and Banner wasn't going to let him have that. He's not the one that screwed up the RG3 deal or went with old man Weeden

Plus Banner sort of pushed him out of Philly so why would he keep him around now?

Surprised Reid didn't take him with him.

Bit harsh. All the bad decisions were done by Holmgren going over Heckert's head (Not going for RG3, taking Weeden in first, picking McCoy)

LOL Packers fans talking shit after giving up all those yards? Rednecks are too funny.

Of course, you're right here.

Are you getting anxious about Kelly joining or are you calm like you've just been doused in catnip?

Too used to sadness, not going to get overly excited until it's confirmed he's signed.

What kind of identity will the Chargers, Eagles, and Bears have after this? Its been so long with the same coaches and regimes in place those teams had a specific identity that will be forever changed now. Its going to be really strange.
