NHL 2011-2012 Offseason thread of Cash Rules Everything Around Me

I think he's only uninsured against concussions.

Injuries sustained from diving, anger management therapy during playoff series vs. the Flyers etc. are covered.

But Penguins management will be popping stress tabs and antacids when he takes a hit for the next decade.

Are tampon installation mishaps covered?

Breaking #NHL news. Done deal. Look for #Pens to announce star Sidney Crosby to a new 12 year contract for 104.4M. Annual cap hit 8.7M

He's like a little child with the "87" stuff. Grow up already.

Not bitter, just unsweetened
AZ judge backs deal, as expected. Does this mean it comes down to the referendum?

Nope

There is still contempt charges

There is still Jamison actually getting the money

Then if he does, there is GWI suing over the deal

Then there is TWO referendums, not just one- two.

I love that Crosby gets paid his number

8.7

What a champ. I wonder how much he is leaving on the table to do that.

Salary cap set at $70.2M.

Not that it necessarily matters with CBA negotiations about to hit, but that's where it currently stands.

Caps have about $20 million dollars in space.

Re-sign Green for about $5 million and Carlson for about $4 million.

$11 MILLION DOLLARS IN CAP SPACE FOR SUTER WOOOOOOOOOOO!

Jamison getting the money. :lol

I don't think they can strike the deal dead because of the contempt charges. I think they can only force a re-vote.

Ah, I see. The article from an AZ website made it seem like it was just the one remaining obstacle.
People in Arizona are too busy prepping their fallout shelters after the Obamacare decision to fully flesh out an article.

Looks like ol' Latenstiff wants to come back to Montreal! He'd make a nice third line winger for the right price.

Crosby cap hit is 8.7..........where does that rank him in terms of cap hit?

edit: How do I fix this fucking table.

Panthers put Santorelli on waivers are will buy out Bradley.

No surprise on Santo but Bradley could be injury driven with the concussion he had last season. There now is a pretty big gap in the forwards department. Also with Barch not given a contract and Bradley bought out we are lacking in the goon department.

FA should be very interesting this year.

Scott Gomez...

Solo when are the Habs allowed to send Gomez to the minors to bury his contract?

Any time. Gainey and Gauthier were too big of pussies to do it. Hopefully Bergevin has the balls to. Habs would have a ton of cap space if they did.

Hey, I'd be ok with this. I think he'd challenge for the second-line spot that was Kostitsyn's or Bourque's to lose last year (and boy did they lose it...).

Too many spaces between the columns of data.

I imagine it has more to do with Molson and whether he wants to pay someone millions to play in the AHL.

You can just buy his ass out.

Either way, Gomez gets paid. Molson wants to win and has deep pockets. Bury Gomez and use that $7.3M hit for something.
