Kind of hit me the other day when talking about vatstep and how long I've been actually posting here. Most of the active users currently have only been here a couple years or so. Feel old!
When the term "homer" is thrown around I usually imagine someone who doesn't give a shit about other fanbases, protects their shield over everything. As a fan, sure there are some points I'll take over others, but I feel I'm fairly reasonable or if not at least engage into conversation either here or in messages explaining why. Sure, I'll ham it up like some of you do as it seems to be the theme of the thread. There are just some people here that can't really switch gears when needed.
Reason I take exception to that is because I love sports over teams and the interactions with other fans. Love having the Habs, Yankees, Leafs, etc come to town because it always brings great fans to the area. I'm usually the type of person to see a group of visitors and welcome them at the bars or around the facilities. That is my favorite thing about sports. It's like meeting a new tribe or something for the first time. Only a few assholes have ruined this to date for me (Mets fans).
Otherwise I would not have invited posters to meet up or tickets at games, bars, or called/messaged others on great series upon conclusion.
