I would say the main reason would be not having Jacques martin suck the life out of them behind the bench

Yep. Ludicrous amounts of injuries + team giving up on Martin/Cunneyworth + Martin/Cunneyworth using the personel they had in 100% the wrong way + guys like Cammy not pulling their weight = disaster. But just a season before we took Boston to OT in Game 7 and the year before that, we went to the ECF.

So, like Soc says, Habs being the worst fucking team ever last year was not supposed to happen.
