He's going to be the most sought after Defenseman at the deadline if he's on the block. Right Side first pairing shut down warrior D-men who throw their bodies in front of everything and can play 30+ minutes a night in the playoffs don't grow on trees. The only reason he'd be traded is because they can't agree on a contract.
That package doesn't get you a sniff of Girardi.

Hamhuis had more shifts than Subban. (he had one 1:04 shift to end the game.)

He's projected more as a solid #2, great 2nd pairing guy I think. Little risk, likely to make the NHL.
Thats the exact opposite of Rielly, boom/bust to a degree - if he lives up to his potential I can see him on team Canada. If he doesn't, he could end up as low as a 5/6 guy.
TSN also didn't consider Ryan Murray, #2 overall in Rielly's year and he's a Canadian D. Playing well in Columbus too.
I think he's a solid #2 on most teams

I think he's as good as Seabrook, Seidenberg.
He would be first pairing on Pittsburgh, LA.
I wouldn't put him on the same level as Seidenberg at all, and hesitant to do the same with Seabrook. LA isn't a contender anymore.

I think its hard to imagine him on those pairings because those contenders have had established pairings for a longggg time. Girardi is going to be the best defencemen to hit FA for the next few years probably, and he can play on a first pairing, regardless if you think he is or isn't that type of D, so that is what he will be worth this summer and is worth to the Rangers.
NHL-GAF in Vegas would supply us with After Hours material for YEARS
I didn't say he couldn't play on a first pairing, I said he won't be on a serious contending team. If he's going to be on your second pairing, then it's hard to imagine a contending team paying through the nose to get him. I won't be surprised if a non-contender gets him and signs him to a 5-7 year contract and plays him on their first pairing, and starts to regret it in year 2-3.

He absolutely is. He's a first pairing shut down guy on most of the teams in the league and he plays against others teams best exclusively, shutting them down. And he plays the right side.
The guy made the fucking all-star team as a shut down guy.
Yea I think your underestimating the guy no way he doesn't play on a first pairing dude on any team he has that potential.
Just as an example, how much does Seabrook benefit from playing with Kieth, and Seidenberg Chara - two of the best Dmen in the past couple of years. Who is that comparable on the Rangers that Girardi plays with? He has proven more then them IMO.

I'm telling you right now, there's not a chance in hell for there to be three Oilers players on that team.
