NHL February |OT| FIRE ALL THE THINGS

Miller didn't look ready on that last one, I could feel it was gonna go in.

Twitter going crazy over Reimer. The Leafs D deserves more credit for the shutout than he does, the Pens had almost no good chances, most of their shots were from bad angles. I can't even remember one impressive save Reimer made. That was pretty much the whole game, neither team getting good chances, taking bad shots, missing the net, and on and on.

You're right but anytime there's a shutout everyone is going to fellate the goalie anyways. He still has to make the saves.

Great effort tonight, shite. Henrik and Ryan playing like beasts.

Team is finally playing really well. I thought they outplayed the Rangers, especially in the third. Just have to tip your hat to Lundqvist tonight.

They just need to worry about getting points at all costs now. Big picture - I'll take one from this game.

Torts needs to chill with the minutes he's giving Girardi/McDonagh, did the same thing last year with Stall/Girardi and they were spent. Stop benching people, it's fucking Febrauary.

Milbury is a moron. There's no reason to be down at this loss when you see a save like Lundqvist made on Boyes in the shootout.* Some days you just have to say 'Too Good.'

*I wish they had the overhead replay. Looked like the glove could have carried into the net.

Unforgivable by the Rangers. Fucking go make a move sather don't wait, don't be sitting around like an old woman with money hiding under your mattress.

Changing the lines every game is fucking annoying. Looks like we don't know how to play on our zone anymore or Torts is too scared to give up the odd man rush.

I agree with you - if they start playing better, Sabres-GAF meet up for real. That way we don't have to console each other when crying. Really been enjoying the last few games, seeing Miller play so well is just refreshing.

The issues Rangers-GAF are speaking of sound awfully familiar. We know a thing or two about weird shift times (for us the lack thereof with our best) and line flopping every damn game. Good game tonight, you guys are in first, don't be too greedy :P

But I must give propers to the Sabres tonight. Played with a junkyard dog mentality, and didn't want to give up. At the end of the day, both our guys got SOs too.

Rangers are #1 in the East. 6-3-1 in their last 10. What am I missing?

I'm hoping for good things for this year. I dont want them to cocktease me for 4 months only to shit the bed when it matters most. Their offense dries up every year and the big guys need to start coming on. This team would be on par with Boston if our best players played with more consistency.

I think the Rangers are built for the playoffs in the East if they play like they did tonight. Suffocating defense with a world class goalie. On top of that, the top of their lineup is as talented as any in the league.

I hope so. I do think a move needs to be made. It's been reported they want an offensive minded d-man for the PP and another top 6 forward. I think they need to go for broke and get both. Fuck it, let's go for it.

Ruff: "Derek Roy's got to put that away. Close isn't good enough anymore."

Exactly. Ah well, a snoozefest in the first two turned into a fun game.

Rangers will lose in the first round. Tortorella will go on a rant about how it is due to Gaborik's lazy play despite the fact that he didn't change a single thing all series.

you gotta still score to win a playoff game...

the team is simply at the top of the east because of Hank, and hard work by the d-men. the scoring and PP is fucking abysmal, horrifyingly bad. richards has done absolutely nothing in a while. if the rangers expect to advanced past the 2nd round we need a legit top 6 forward. start a package around artie and/or dubi and go from there, we are in desperate need of help on offense.

Lundqvist is an average playoff goalie until he proves otherwise.

I get that. But for once the Rangers are built around talented guys who are still young. No need to sacrifice the future when your core is going to get better. I think the one thing that might hold them back this year is youth. How many guys on the team have had a deep playoff run?

That's surprising. I wonder how much that has to do with the team around him.

Anisimov yes, Dubi I'm keeping because his grit is essential in 7 game series, and even if he isn't scoring, at least he can bang and PK. Also he makes 4 mill, and for what he's producing scoresheet wise I can't imagine teams having interest.

I'm also offering up our 1st, 2nd, and ANY of our prospects. Fuck this saving bullshit!

I would've hated to pay for that in Toronto tonight. Imagine that being your first hockey game? Yikes.

The Leafs won and me losing my voice and exploding for the remainder of the game after MacArthur scored makes me feel like I got my money's worth. I had a good time. I do agree the game was really really REALLY dull but damn do I love being at the ACC. I was there in December for fan night but I havent been to a real game since April 2010 (loss to the Bruins). I love the goofy "make noise!!!!" bits on the jumbotron during stoppages of play... And my team won and Reimer got a shutout so I'm happy.

Also, while walking down the escalator a blond girl in a Pens jersey said, dejected, word for word, "They didn't even score a goal. Why did we pay money for that? That makes me angry."

To take the trolling one step further, his playoff stats are quite similar to Cechmanek's.

And worse than Bryzgalov's.

Everything. Was bad his first series against the Devils, but that team was shit for the most part, especially the D. Malik and Rossie were the first pair, nuff said.

No one brings up his performance against the Caps a couple of years ago when they just squeaked into the playoffs, dude almost stole the series. We did nothing on offense, but Hank played out of his mind.

Whatever, relying on a tiny sample size to knock him, I'll take it.

Henrik was hurt that series, too.

There's a reason no goalie has been able to play more than 65 games and win the cup in the last 20+ years except for 2 guys. Rangers finally realized that when they brought in Biron. Henrik would have played less last year if Good Marty didn't break his collarbone.
