And yet Nyquist still sits in the AHL thanks to our old guys still taking up roster spots. Looks like a move is going to be made this week since Helm is coming back. Too bad it looks like TooToo is the one to go, he has played great and really gives us that spark, but nope, had to sign Sammy and Cleary.

When Stajan comes back we should be a bit better with faceoffs and defensive coverage. I would rather he be on the 3rd line though or maybe 2nd. Only prob is i dont think Backlund(whos doing fucking amazing this year) should be below the 1st or 2nd line. Colbourne should be no lower than 3rd and hes finally playing better and catching up to the Flames system. Mony should be 3rd as he is usually slotted. That leaves Stajan as 4th which hes too good for. Either way, they arent a great team, but fucking hell they work their asses off. Stempy, hudler, GIO, Brody, Wideman...

The problem is Sammy's terrible contract (thankfully his last year) and that he gave him a stupid no trade clause.
I had a feeling that Zibanejad being called up would be at the expense of Pageau. That said, I'm getting conflicting reports here.
Dan Séguin says Pageau is being sent back but Sylvain St-Laurent reports that hasn't been confirmed and that Pageau is still on the ice practicing with the team.

Both made sense from a certain perspective.
I can see why having four undersized/no physical centers could be seen as a liability, but on the other hand any checking line we put out is just too freaking slow to be a threat.
No perfect option, but I'd rather have Pageau then not.

Yup, unfortunately he was never the same after his injury, clearing out Sammy and Cleary would have allowed us to keep some of these good bottom 6 guys, but that isn't the case at all.

Nash is effectively out indefinitely until we hear otherwise. The fact that he's still not at practice after 2 weeks is not a promising sign.
