A long interview with Marc-Andre Bourdon about his ongoing recovery from concussion issues. Five hours of eye exercises a day sounds like torture.

http://flyers.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=670514

Bourdon has been trying to recover from post-concussion issues since February, 2012. He’s still not 100 percent. He’s confident he’ll get there, but he doesn’t know when.

After skating for an hour with Mullen, Bourdon said he felt good, and has been feeling good for awhile – but he’s still not completely himself.

There are still headaches – although far more infrequently than before. He doesn’t suffer with moodiness or other personality affectations.
______

Bourdon is trying to retrain his eyes to focus – because they are easily distracted by ancillary movement. It’s why he cannot be cleared by doctors yet to play hockey again, because as of now, Bourdon’s eyes have minds of their own – and he can’t control them.

Bourdon has to endure the monotony of eye exercises for five hours each day. It’s an incredibly lonely and tedious endeavor, but one that Bourdon has accepted.

After the practice Bourdon was incredibly candid about his situation, going into great detail about what the past year has been like.

And when talking to him about his situation, you could sense the frustration, but at the same time, you also know that he is going to persevere. That he is not going to let this thing lick him, no matter how long it takes.

But, at the same time, you get the sense that he knows the clock is ticking. Bourdon will turn 24 during training camp in September. He will be entering the final year of his contract with the team before he would become a restricted free agent in 2014.

Domi is one of those kids that could go all over the draft, really high or really low. He' the kind of player some random team will go out of their way to get like Calgary with that 12 year old.

The Great Dane has a brother who will probably be a late (6th or 7th) rounder. Wouldn't mind the Habs picking him up late.

I don't know anything about him except he's PK's bro and allegedly better than PK was at the same age.

I think he's 5'9" tops, and from what I've seen, no where as dynamic as PK. Plus PK had an absurd work ethic that pushed his talent beyond what anyone thought he could be, Jordan may have peaked already.

Jordan Subban is tiny.
Like Solo said he's suppose to be better then PK was at his age, but that's such an arbitrary form of evaluation. We don't need anymore D anyways, so unless he's the BPA when the Habs pick him, I doubt they grab him.

Same deal as Mads Eller - I don't mind using a later round pick on a brother of part of the core, but obviously not any of our 1st or 2nds. Those 4 picks need to be used to draft actual future Canadiens.

I agree.

PK had a slightly better draft year, and a much better playoffs. I think it was just PK trying to hype up his brother when he said he was better though. He was probably better prepared going into the OHL having PK's guidance and training to refer to though.

I think you guys must have watched the same amount of Flyers games this season. Luke was carrying the entire defense by the end of the season with all the injuries. When Philly beat Montreal 7-3 in April he played 33 minutes and was +3.

Brayden is more of a work in progress, but I've seen enough in his first 100 NHL games to be optimistic. I think he should play wing next year, though.

O I don't think either of them was BAD. I'm just not entirely sold on them. I don't believe Luke can anchor a defense yet, and I still don't believe Brayden will ever be a 1C. I'm fine with keeping them. But let's be serious here, they're no Staal brothers, and the Subbans have WAY more potential.

EDIT: I'm even one of the people that thinks the JVR trade was actually pretty fair. Luke could MAYBE be a #2 d-man in a few years. Brayden just seems to excel in building up expectations then doing something to just completely tear those expectations down.

He definitely won't be a 1C in Philly. I would like to see him and Hartnell pushing each other all season for the other wing on the 1st line, with Giroux, Couturier, Laughton and Hall as the four centers. We will never know if Coots can really perform offensively in the NHL if he's always stuck on the 3rd and 4th lines getting the toughest minutes on the team.

Problem with Couts is they're probably looking at him like "But GIROUX scored 70 pts on the third line!"

Projected draft round:

Due to his size, I have Subban as a early 4th-late 3rd round selection. However, if Subban can add weight, he will soar up draft boards.

Comparison:

I’m not going to be “that guy” and compare Jordan Subban to P.K. Subban (although there are similarities). I would compare Jordan Subban to a very raw Kris Letang with a much higher upside.

NHL Projection:

As I’ve said, if Subban can add weight, he will be a star. So, if he does add weight, he’ll be a top pairing defenseman and power play quarterback. If he does not, I don’t think he’ll be much more than a offensive specialist in the AHL.

Jordan small scouting report from some guy.

So according to some guy, the difference between being a Norris candidate and all star and just being an AHL specialist is 40 pounds or so? Right. He's basically describing PK with his potential while saying he doesn't want to compare them.

I was really happy with both Luke and Brayden last year. I think that the JVR trade worked out great for the Flyers.

I'm hoping for

BSchenn-Giroux-Voracek
Hartnell-Couturier-Simmonds

Can rotate Read and McGinn into the top 6 throughout the season. Read and Couturier have had pretty good chemistry.

I don't think you want Harts and Simmer on the same line. Similar style. You want one of them up with G and Voracek. I'm indifferent as to which one.

Ultimately, yeah, each of them should be on another line.

With his offensive skittishness (sometimes he just throws the puck at the net and falls back) I think he'd do better developing with 2 guys with a big physical presence that can create space for him. Both of them are used to battling to push a rebound in, and have gotten nice chip ins from G's passing. SCooter's nowhere near his level, but has had some impressive passing.

Not something I'd want for long, but I think it'd help him. He can anchor them defensively, and support their murdertraining.
